If you're not sure what fan to get, I can assure you these are it. We weren't too sure about the brand (heard they weren't very good) but these are brilliant. Easy to install (I had my family electrician install mine), quiet operation (great when trying to sleep) and produces a significant amount of air. The overall look of the fan is lovely and the LED light is brilliant. 3 variois settings of lights which can also be dimmed from the remote (super useful) and 6 speeds to choose from for the fan operation. There is also the option to have the fan spin in the other direction which they call winter mode meaning you can have your fan on and not freeze during winter. Definitely try these, you won't be disappointed!

Got home from work and my boyfriend was installing my random fan purchase from Bunnings. Was easy to install from where I sat- drinking a beer and offering encouragement. As a fan, it’s like the soft touch of the clouds breath reaching down to caress my body and encourage peaceful sleep- on low speed. On high speed it gets a little like the movie “Twister” with all the junk I am yet to put away in my room flying around. The light has several functions- sexy glow and horrific white light that clearly shows every fine line and sun spot I own. Overall- 10 out of 10- would recommend!

There is no extension for this fan. So if you need a longer drop than 25cm then choose another fan. I rang Arlec to find out if the Arlec 90cm extension would be compatible and despite them assuring me it would be it wasn't. The wiring in the extension doesn't support the wifi connection. Having said all that I have installed the fan elsewhere and it is great.
We have two of these DC fans and will purchase another when the weather starts to warm up again in Auckland. We put one in the master bedroom and the other in the smaller bedroom/office. During summers warm nights the fan keeps the room cool, super quite operation and we get a better nights sleep plus we don't need to run the AC, we also like the light dimming function. We prefer the phone app and have set-up schedules to run the lights only when we are out of the house. The remotes work well.
Difficult to install due to the tiny amount of room allowed for the remote receiver. 3 out of the 4 fans I installed wobbled uncontrolably and 2 out of 4 have a loud electrical humming or buzzing noise on one of the speeds (while all other speeds were quiet). Arlec suggested submitting a warranty claim then waiting for a contractor (no timeframe on when he could get here). The fans are very expensive and are just very badly made. Avoid this brand if you're looking for any soret of quality.
The only things that would make this fan better are a remote to turn it on and off, (we attached it to a smart plug and it's great) and an even longer cable (4m is a lot, but because you generally put them in the middle of a room it's not quite enough). These would just be nice to have things, not essential so it still gets 5 stars! Has winter and summer modes and is super easy to install. Can be done by one person, but I recommend 2. Not super fast, but wouldn't expect it to be for the price or size, it still pushes around a decent amount of air.
Writing this review because I read some of the other reviews and thought I should help set the record straight. I have 4 Martec AC fans, and I have 4 of these Arlec DC fans. These are by far better made and with better features.Summer/winter reverse switch on the remote instead of on the fan itself - seriously, who's going to get a ladder every 6 months to flick the switch?Remote is infrared? What's that wire on the receiver module then? It's radio! Don't need line of sight.Should have an app to control it with your phone? Read the box! Get the grid-connected model if you want that feature.You have to put it together to install it? Hmmm... who would have thought a 1.2m diameter fan needs to be assembled when the box is only 56cm x 30cm x 26cm?
I purchased 3 of these for my bedrooms about a month ago. Easy to put together with good DIY instructions. If you can install a standard light batten fitting you can fit these fans. They work as advertised, well balanced and quiet operation. The 6 speed settings allow for a good range of operation and the reverse (summer/winter) mode works well. The three light settings are handy as is the dimmer function (dimming operation is slow though). The only thing I don't like is the beep noise when turning on the wall light switch when entering the room, and there is a 1 second delay for light to turn on. Overall good value for the money.

They say D.C. motor quieter but found the arlic old electric fans very quiet as i had one in bedroom and hot nights easily could sleep with it on. You get a remote control with the unit but never use, can control all functions with google assistant like dim light, adjust speed, on -off using your voice totally to control fan is a breeze. Picked this model for brighter led 18 watt and 30 watt d.c. motor.
