These things are great. For less than $10 a globe, it can light up in basically any colour you can imagine, is disable and works flawlessly with Google Home. I’ve swapped all my lamps to these globes and wish I’d know about them when I bought the smart power sockets which seem pretty basic now.

Bought this last week. Took ages to get it to pair despite doing it by the book. Main problem now is that is often shows as "offline" unless I am standing next to it with my phone. Waste of money and will be returned

I took a punt and purchased enough to do my broad living areas (Dining, kitchen, living, lounge). They are bright enough to work with, but also offer dimmable options and colours for night times, which is useful.The functionality is great. I can create scenes that work really well automatically through the app, or alternatively map them with additional functionality through Google Assistant. I can't sync to my tv shows, but I don't miss what I don't get I guess. Further, you need a pretty robust Wi-Fi system if you have lots of devices, as these only work on 2.4ghz not 5.5ghz, though I simply run both and have my smart devices on 2.4band which works well. If you're not connected to the internet, they still work through your router when your phone is connected to Wi-Fi, so this is a great function.My son asked for a colourful bulb in the toilet this evening, so I added one so that he could '...poop in blue', as he wished.10/10 Would recommend
Impressive product. I can now set the mood of our rooms, control it using my phone anywhere. I liked that it can set to different colours and it can strobe if there's music. Awesome product.
Exceptionally disappointing to buy a "smart bulb" to go with my Google Home only to find I need to download the Arlec App and I have to create a log in to get the full functionality.Extremely poor

The globes were easy to pair and work great with the app. The problem is that the app needs to go via a central server over the internet to complete the command, so sometimes it can be a bit laggy.The biggest problem however is that if my internet connection drops out for any reason while the lights are switched off from the app, the lights can't be switched on again from the light switch. My first purchase to full home automation, works perfectly.Remember it helps to disable 5Ghz on your wifi during pairing, and enable phone Bluetooth.
