Was a little more fiddly to set up than expected; Seems an update was needed for it to talk to a Smart Hub, and the set up required scanning a very small QR inside the device which I don't recall being shown in their online videos. Installing the device beside the door was easy and it works very well; It will initiate a video call with your phone when someone presses the button and operate like a security camera the rest of the time. I have been happy with the results so far. If you already have Arlo cameras then I think its a no brainer to include one of these in your setup.

You can get cheaper ones with seemingly similar features except one... this is the only one to currently offer the functionality for the doorbell to call your phone like a regular phone call. This seems like such a trivial feature, but from coming from other electronic doorbells which simply send a push notification (which easily go missed), coming through as a proper phone call means you are FAR less likely to miss a ring on the door. It's pretty bloody awesome! I've wired mine up to trickle charge the battery so should hopefully never need charging manually. If my existing doorbell transformer suppled enough V to use the wired only version, I would have gone with that as significantly cheaper. If yours does - go with that.

Works well but it *looks* like after the initial 3 months it might do anything without a paid subscription.. I'm having to wait and see.. Installation was a breeze.. although the screws supplied to fix it to the wall had heads small enough to fit through the holes in the bracket so I had to use a screw with a bigger head.. don't think I was being an idiot! When the button is pressed, my phone rings and when I answer I can see, and hear, who's at the door! It also announces on my google speakers! We get a, 'There's someone at the door' from all the speakers, which is why I bought the thing.

Easy to install. Manual is a bit short on complete details and you need to work through the menu to get all you want. Too early to tell if weather proof is as warranted. Battery is 1 month at this stage. Camera has excellent resolution. Notifications are quick.
Nice features hidden behind an unfortunate paywall. Battery is very poor, lasting nearly a week before requiring charge (~5hrs to charge), no chime (extra purchase for an already expensive product), no local storage at all, does not sync with ANY Arlo home base or station. This product is WiFi ONLY (2.4ghz). Has constant issues of taking itself offline but still being able to provide motion alerts that you can't see. I would only suggest this product if you already have a subscription plan, otherwise stay away.
The hardware is good and it integrates well into an Arlo ecosystem. The software process is slightly strange. The design seems to be based on the idea that you only want to answer the door remotely. If the doorbell rings, and you don't first pick up your phone and either answer or reject the call, the doorbell will assume you're not home and play a message to the person at the door - even if you've already opened it. It doesn't have the obvious concept of "home or away" - there's no way to tell it to just act like a dumb doorbell when you're at home and are able to answer the door yourself. Another obvious feature it lacks, which other doorbells like Ring have, is the ability to start recording video when the button is pushed. Instead, video is only recorded when ... Another obvious feature it lacks, which other doorbells like Ring have, is the ability to start recording video when the button is pushed. Instead, video is only recorded when motion detection triggers (which is useless if you live on a busy street) or when you answer the call through your phone. Love the hardware and the design but the overall experience is nowhere near as good as Ring.
I had bought a cheaper video doorbell but returned it and bought this instead which I glad I did. It has great video, captures motion well, has excellent battery life, I'm 4 weeks in and it's around 50%. When it's pressed it sends a response to my phone straight away and even has a message recording function and other features such as parcel alerts. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that it doesn't have pre-roll so it doesnt show who pressed the door bell if you try to answer though you could scroll through the separate motion alerts. Otherwise highly recommended
I have had this for 12 months. When is rings my phone, the video and voice does not work. It constantly drop connection the wifi despite being very close to the access point. Talking through it is very inconsistent. If you are looking for a doorbell so you can answer the door when you’re not home, this is not it.
I bought this doorbell on the understanding (from Harvey Norman as well as Arlo) that it would connect to my Google Home Hub Max, enabling me to answer the doorbell on the Hub. It does not - despite the pretty pictures on their website, it only announces when the doorbell is pressed. You *can connect *eventually to the video doorbell to see who might be there, but they've gone home and had a life before you can see anything, and you cannot speak through the home hub to anyone at the door. What a useless, very expensive purchase. Read reviews on their forum before purchase.
I already have 3 arlo pro 3 cameras, a pro 3 flood light and now this. They all work well together and the doorbell is a great addition. The only issue is the delay when someone calls can be 5-20 seconds and this makes it useless sometimes. The ability to leave a message is handy. Resolution is wonderful and overall very happy. Works well to make porch pirates think twice. Easily went into masonry with the angle plate.
