Having had Ilve ovens for the past 3 decades but could not afford one this time round, I spent months researching the best alternative. With apprehension I finally bought this Artusi oven. I’m very pleased with the quality and performance. I’m an ex professional baker and caterer so I understand ovens. I live in Launceston and appliances online are my preferred sellers for all my appliances. The only minor negative is the after sales service from Artusi, there is none. I wanted to buy an accessory for my new oven so I called them and was promised a call back which never came. I followed up by email but 4 weeks later still have no heard back so I’m hoping this oven lasts the 20 years my Ilve oven lasted 🤞
Generally I'm happy with this oven, as it was a very simple swap-over from our broken one. However, I think there is definitely room for improvement. It took a while to work out how to set the clock, but got there in the end. Mostly, I think that the solid shelves are a waste, and should be replaced with wire shelves. The large roasting pan with grill may be great if you regularly roast a large turkey (or other beast), but I wish I had kept the wire shelves from my old oven. I now keep this roasting shelf at the very bottom of the oven to keep it out of the way. I have also removed the other solid shelf, as I feel it would restrict efficient heat flow. Which means I effectively only have a single wire shelf that is useful - somewhat sub-optimal for a large oven. And ... And whilst I "get" the safety feature of the fan that continues to run to cool the oven down, I think this is a waste of electricity. Since purchasing my Artusi under bench oven we are enjoying so many deliciously cooked meals. This oven is quite easy to use and has so many great functions for cooking. I’m very happy with my new oven.
I bought this for a new build house. First time we used it - housing cooling fan is a bit rattlely and the oven mysteriously shut down on the 'pizza' setting. Lights, clock and everything turned off (no it wasn't the timer). Then after a while came back on. Was hoping for better 'made in Italy' quality, even though it is a dead simple oven. Have logged a warranty claim.
