After being recommended the ascent brand by a friend I have never looked back for my kids and buy the same shoe every year.The Apex shoe is not heavy and is very comfortable for my son who has a wide foot. It lasts the entire year even with all the running around and Basketball playing he does.

Very comfortable, stylish school shoe. My 10 and 12 year old boys love the comfort and it fits their orthodics. The shoe was recommended by our podiatrist because it looks like a formal school shoe but performs like sneakers due to the sole support/shape. Leather is breathable so the shoes never smell! No need to wear-in as they are comfortable from the first day. We have bought this style from Athletes Foot for years and love their foot analysis machine/video to help with size and fit.

Best school shoe, wider too. Not stiff like others out there. Not as chunky and heavy looking. My girls keep coming back to these. Pricier but well worth the comfort, all year round shoe. Long lasting. No issues at all.

Good solid footware that I ware everyday. These shoes are comfortable from the first day, no blisters and no need to brake the shoes in. I ware my Apex shoes to work (it complies with OH&S requirements), for walking and to do the shopping too! I like that these shoes feel almost like a runner. They are perfect for when the ground and grass are wet, my feet stay dry; even after my long morning walks! The only way you could improve it is by adding more cusion to the innersole. Otherwise I find this shoe an Excellant All-Rounder!
We are onto our second pair for this year. This shoe is a comfortable fit, but doesn't quite have the durability of a sport shoe as advertised.Our Yr 7 son is very active during his breaks at school & unfortunately this shoe did not last the distance of a year. We did purchase the second pair due to the fit and comfort for our son, time constraints & the fact he needs to walk getting to and from school.We will be looking at other options next year.
Bought for high school shoes, and definitely worth it. Lightweight and comfortable, handles a lot of scuffing and easily polished if needed. I find other brands (school shoes) heavier and aren’t as durable. Great service in store, they didn’t have any in stock but were able to organise home delivery, which I got within 2 days!
Super comfy right from the start. Unfortunately can’t vouch for durability. The shoes have lasted about 1 term - my son has managed to put a whole thru the leather toe right through to the plastic reinforcer. Everything else about the shoe is perfectly fine which is a real shame. I know my boy plays hard and is by no means gentle with his footwear, but I haven’t had this trouble to the same extent with any other school shoes. Sadly won’t be buying again… a great shoe in every other way, but seems to not be able to stand up in terms of wear and tear.
Stupid asking for reviews, really doesn’t encourage good ones. But this is the second pair I have purchased and these shoes are rubbish, I have never seen my boys destroy shoes like my son destroyed these and his usually the best of all my sons at looking after things. But as there are few wide pronation shoes and he needs wide pronation shoes I continue to buy them.
These shoes have been a great choice for our son and recommended by his podiatrist. With good support and excellent wear on the sole most aspects of the shoe have not disappointed. However, I must echo some of the previous reviews and point out that the durability of these shoes is appalling. Lasting 6 months at best on an active child. The leather upper does not hold up to the day to day abuse school shoes are subjected to. The ascent sports style school shoes are far more durable but are not appropriate for formal uniforms.
