Combining the traditional influences of the 1989 GEL-EXTREME with modern cushioning, the EX89 by asics was originally designed by Toshikazu Kayano in the late 1980s as his first design project at asics. The sneaker impresses with a layered leather construction combined with colorblocking that matches the iconic team uniforms of the era. It features FF BLAST cushioning that provides lightweight impact absorption for everyday comfort, as well as a curved heel shape that enhances comfort underfoot in everyday situations. The pattern of the outsole is meant to reflect an aerial view of a city. This functional grip feature was originally inspired by the designer's first business trip to the United States in 1987.

Perhaps I am a bit impatient with brand-new shoes that would need some time to soften up with time, but frankly, I wouldn't purchase them if I went back in time, sorry

After having other branded shoes for a while, i didn't realise ASICS had such cool designs. The shoes are supportive and comfortable and I can already feel the difference in body only after a few weeks. Highly recommend.

So stoked on my pair. Extremely comfortable and not as heavy as some of the other vintage basketball sneakers I have had over the years. Construction is bomb proof and all the detailing from stitching to lace holes are on point. Super easy to clean up as well. Love 'em

I got this for my wife and she loved it! The harmonized retro and modern styles present the shoes at entirely different levels. It's excellent and highly recommended!
Don't forget leather conditioner people!! It will soften the leather and you will be able to wear them in more quickly!! I was sceptical buying these shoes as other brands in similar shoe were ill fitting, but as with my regular runners ASICS you've done it again!! Perfect fit all round!! And so very comfortable!!
Bought these as soon as they released. Love the colour way and style. Slightly narrower fit but will stretch with time.
The shoes arrived last week and fit perfectly. The look good and are extremely comfortable to wear.
I love my new sneakers and so does everyone else. I have been asked so many times where I got them from!! They are comfortable and best of all they look great
Under real I was wearing thing but the hi top with the strap one of my first shoes I dunk in 1990 actually it had gel written on it ... add photos later but love it π€π½ππ½ππ€π½ππ½
Very nice wearing shoes. A little narrow for my wide feet. But would be perfect for those who do not have wide feet. It's stretching nicely for me now. Takes time to break in. Good quality. A little pricy would wait for sales next time
