The EX89 sneaker blends the heritage influences of the GEL-EXTREME basketball shoe from 1989 with modern cushioning properties. It was originally created by Toshikazu Kayano in the late 1980s as his first design project with ASICS. The upper's traditional materials are modified with suede overlays that are rendered with neutral tones for a low-profile look. It's met with a sculpted heel shape to improve underfoot comfort during everyday scenarios. The outsole’s pattern is meant to mirror the view of a city from the sky. This functional grip feature was initially inspired by the designer’s first business trip to the United States in 1987.

Great shoes! Comfortable, stylish and not as common as some AirForce’s or 550’s.

Colour looked different than on site, but still good shoes!
Colour is much lighter than advertised on the site
Clean and basic shoe with great design elements. Love the idea of putting the Cities footprint on the bottom of the shoe
Really comfortable shoes. Really like it. Love asics
Perfect all day sneaker, nice decent colour! Perfect shoe! Happy
I love the look of these sneakers but they do not fit me as well as my other ASICS. These shoes are a bit bulkier and the toe box is not as big. I didn’t realize when I ordered them that they could not be returned to an Anthro store.
Beautifully made, look even better on. The first white pair of trainers i have owned for many years!
