The 1090 is best described as a capable trainer. It is a retro shoe based on a model that was in its time a top of the range shoe. In that context it is stylish and a comfortable wide fit. It features a standard foam midsole with cushioning pads in the heel and toe that are adequate for most slight overpronators. However it is not as durable for endurance running as more advanced modern shoes, like it’s sibling the 2090 or the Gel Kayano.

I’ve been wanting a new pair of comfortable everyday trainers so treated myself to these and they haven’t disappointed. Super comfy and versatile, and go with almost any outfit! I’m already eyeing up another pair in a different colour.

There isn't enough room and very tight from toe side. They should have put more foam then this shoes would have been very comfortable shoes. But overall I would say its good.
Got this on half price and it's great. Asics always fit my feet perfectly. I always try other brands but always come back to Asics. Bought this for running. Delivered in perfect condition. Great service.
Bought originally for outdoor running but they’re such a comfortable shoe, I found myself wearing them for the gym and in the day. I have slightly wider feet and ordered these in a 5.5 and they fit amazingly. Loving the Y2K feel to them, they go with most outfits!
I buy these because I often spend all day on my feet and can cover some distance. They're comfortable and my feet don't get too hot. It helps that they look good and I caught a bargain at the ASICS online store.
Soft and good. I fell in love at the first time I saw it. Good matching with clothes.However, the gel doesn't get along well with a slippery floor. Have to be careful sometimes.
Asics midnight men's 1090's were the best shoes I ever had and part of the best time of my life. Could not believe they were reissued. These are very close to the originals, differences are minor. They feel good, they are taking almost no breaking in. Having them back is unbelievable! Thanks!!!
I bought these as I really liked the look of them, and had been meaning to buy a nice pair of all white trainers and they did not disappoint. You can use these for running but they’re so nice that I’m actually wearing them casually, they go really well with black jeans. They are also super comfy, you know what you’re getting with ASICS and this one is another hit.
