As someone who has been using Asics Kayano running shoes for at least 20 years putting on my new pair of 14RE's was like meeting an old friend. Whilst the latest Kayano's no doubt pack in a lot of the latest tech, I have to confess to finding them less comfortable/supportive/well made than previous models. The last pair of Kayano's that used the original forefoot construction as far as I am aware were the Kayano 21....which I still use for Gym work almost every week..they just won't die. Many pairs of later Kayano's have fallen to bits since I bought my 21's. The 14RE's not only feel fantastic but look amazing IMHO...in fact I was so impressed with them that I went and bought another pair of standard 14's, which may not look quite as cool as the RE's but they feel ... MoreAs someone who has been using Asics Kayano running shoes for at least 20 years putting on my new pair of 14RE's was like meeting an old friend. The shoes also feel 'premium' and make my Kayano 27's & 28's look (and feel) like cheap 'knock offs'. I would recommend these shoes to anyone seeking a quality running shoe...the looks are just a bonus! Can I implore Asics to move back to this construction type for the Kayano or continue to produce 'retro' style Kayano's...my old 21's can't last forever...I'll have the re-issue in green and black please!! :-)

Great looking shoe, however I felt they ran a 1/2 size small. Returned them for a larger size.

These are the first pair of Asics that I ever purchased and I'm extremely pleased. Although I'm a runner I wear these as a casual wardrobe shoe. Exceptional comfort but attentive to sartorial detail. The putty/habanero color scheme is understated yet bold.
The tongue sits up higher on your ankle than previous models, but otherwise same fit & feel.
