ASICS customer service sucks

To return, you pay a restocking fee, then also pay for shipping if you want another size; you aren’t even able to exchange (even though it’s not your fault that now your shoe size no longer fits you). In addition, I purchased the black color for $89.95. When I went to re-order a 1/2 size up, the price went to $99.95. I’m not sure if I prefer these to my previous pair (gt-2000) but so far they’ve been an excellent running shoe. I’ve found the sizes to be true. I’m a size 9 in all my shoes & a size 9 in these fits perfectly. I would however recommend trying them on in store if possible. There’s a lot of different styles of shoe to choose from.

This is my third pair of the Gel Kayano’s. These have been the more comfortable shoes of any I’ve had and done well at supporting my pronation and previously injured ankle. However, I will not be purchasing these next time I need shoes. These shoes just do not last. The first pair started to wear through where my big toe is within a few months and got worse from there. The second pair the rubber on the bottom in the front started to come away from the sole in a couple places after a few months. ASICS was good about honoring their warranty and giving me a credit for a new pair, but now these are starting to do the same thing. I still have New Balance shoes that I don’t wear for running or working out anymore, but that I still wear if I’m running to the store, etc, ... MoreThis is my third pair of the Gel Kayano’s. Again, I think the comfort and support of these shoes are great, but for $160, they should really last a lot longer.

I'll be wearing a different brand
23 December 2023

I never actually got a chance to wear these but I'm rating my overall experience as being 1 star. Despite carefully following Asics' instructions for selecting the correct size, the shoes were too small and needed to be exchanged. I expected being able to make a simple exchange for a larger size but Asics procedure is to have you return those for a refund (minus $4) and you have to make another purchase. I bought these during the black friday sale and expected to pay the same price for the larger replacements but their policy is not to honor the price I paid during the sale and to now charge full price. I didn't arbitrarily pick a size and hope for the best, I followed Asics' instructions. I didn't arbitrarily pick a size and hope for the best, I followed Asics' instructions. BTW, this required a second person marking a piece of paper with your toe position for both feet at the end of the day, convert the measurement of my longest foot to a metric value then cross-reference that value into the shoe size listed in their chart, no simple procedure. I spent quite a bit of time to compare/shop, measure, order, deal with customer service, repack, drive into town to the FedEx location and pay their $4 return fee. I still need shoes and Asics lost a customer.

Poor fit, very Poor Customer Service

few things to make sure before you buy anything from Asics.1. make sure you try the shoes in person in store. No harm trying it again and again.2. make sure the store is near reach in case you have to return something.3. think twice before you buy. there is no EASY RETURN as they claim. $4.99 if you purchased online and have to return the same way since you don't have store nearby.4. their stores don't carry all sizes/width shoes (to try at least).5. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. tried asking for an exchange with wider shoes since the store didn't have it. they said they can't do it, i have to return it with restocking fees and the shoes has to be unwarned. how can someone decide whether the shoes fits well and meets the need without trying it? very poor ... Morefew things to make sure before you buy anything from Asics.1. make sure you try the shoes in person in store. No questions asked.few things before you buy Kayano 291. stay away if you have arch or ball of foot issue. APMA seal doesn't help here. things will get worst.2. plenty of room above toes/fingers (in-case you have taller toes!!!) but tight on the sides. A big salute to the designer!!!

Running style over pronator
19 July 2024

When looking for some new running shoes I discovered ASICS had the option to cater for particular running styles and I found out that the pain I had in my foot was due to being an over pronator. I decided to give these a try being top recommended for my budget and requirements. The fit is good with a firm supporting insole with noticeable additional support provided to compensate for my run style which slightly raises the position of the ball of my foot and big toe which alleviates some of the pain I have been experiencing in that area as a result. I have been using for a couple of weeks now and the overall pain when not running has lessoned too and I'm hopeful over time these may help towards reducing further this. Stable, well cushioned, secure yet spacious
7 February 2024

Great experience purchasing direct from asics, tracked speedy delivery. The shoe itself is everything and more I was hoping for. As someone who over-pronates, I have been looking for a stability shoe that also provide cushioning and ample fore foot space for my toes to splay. I hadn’t tested any shoes prior to ordering the Asics Gel Kayno 29 shoes, but I had done my research, and having used many of there tennis shoes, I know that Asics quality is second to none. I am pleased to report this was still the case. The shoe whilst feeling light and well ventilated, has a really secure collar fit and lace tie down. The ride is stable but well cushioned and has been suitable for both long and faster pace runs for me, as well as treadmill sessions. Supportive Running Shoe
1 December 2023

Supportive running shoe that provides good motion control with ample cushioning. The shoe is properly engineered to look in the feet without needing to tie the laces overly tight. This is a much more substantial shoe than the cheaper runners in the Asics lineup but still very lightweight. The higher price is justified for anyone needing a supportive, light shoe for high mileage running or to keep things in line if there's biomechanical issues requiring some help from a motion-control shoe. One star removed only due to sizing inconsistency: My partner has worn various models of the Kayano over the years and was always the same size, but this in year's model he required a half size larger than usual. This is a terrible replacement for the kayano 28!
12 August 2024

This is a terrible replacement for gelkayano 28! I hate it. It is a completely different shoe to the previous versions. It felt ok for a few days but it pitches my knees together and caused me a lot of pain in my lower back and knees. Fortunately I found 1 pair of gelkayano 28s online in my size. I cannot overstate how different from the previous iterations this shoe is. Most of the gel has been replaced with foam it’s really clunky and thick and the sole has a terrible sloped inwards feeling. Oh and not to forget, it’s made of different material that seems to cook my feet which would be appropriate for a winter shoe.

Worst Asics Gel-Kayano I have Ever Bought
24 May 2024

I've used Asics Gel-Kayano as my daily shoes and running shoes since the Kayano 22, so you can say I really like them. They have awesome support for flat foot people like me, comfortable, durable, and the gel of course adds to the positive experience. My feet rarely hurt at the end of the day with these shoes. However, I wish I could return or get my money back for the Kayano 29. These are by far the most CHEAPLY made Kayano I have ever owned. I've used them as my daily shoe for 2 weeks, with normal use, just like my previous Kayano, and the sole is separating from the shoe, already. Ive NEVER had the sole separate from ANY of my Kayano shoes, and I have various pairs for daily, running, and just going out. The rubber on the bottom of sole began to separate from the shoe within the first week, as well. The fabric, is also made of a very cheap material, already fraying out at the front of the shoe. My previous Kayanos would never fray out, but rather tear because of my own fault. To top it off, theyre not nearly as comfortable as the previous Kayano shoes I have owned. With just 2 weeks of use, my feet ache just as much at the end of the day as the Kayanos that I had used for Over a Year of daily use. I hope I just got a lemon of a shoe, but this is very, very far from Asics quality.
