Having not run in an ASICS shoe for a while I was excited to give the Kayano 29 a try. On unboxing you can tell it's a quality shoe. The aesthetics are fairly understated despite the bright red midsole so it'll pair with most kit.On sizing for me it comes up around half a size small compared to Brooks and Saucony. The mid foot fit is snug and there's not huge amounts of room in the toe box. I have widish feet and find Nike, Brooks and Saucony a bit more accommodating. I also noticed a highish ankle collar. On the run things pick up. This is a shoe that feels better running than it does when you try it on. Stability is great, grip is good in the dry, perhaps only average in the wet but not really an issue. The pay off is durability looks really good which offsets ... MoreHaving not run in an ASICS shoe for a while I was excited to give the Kayano 29 a try. On unboxing you can tell it's a quality shoe. It has a firmer than expected ride but remains comfortable as the miles rack up.Overall, if the fit works for you it's a very solid choice that will give long service.

I'm a very active person regarding sports I've never run in Kayano for before until now, i have to say they will be my go-to training shoe and not just for running alone here's why. I play league table tennis at a decent level and picked up the Kayano by mistake instead of my table tennis training shoes. So i had no choice but to use them where they were seriously put to the test. The Kayano were absolutely perfect for running but playing table tennis in them was going to be a whole different test. The support my feet received was amazing as if you play table tennis at a good level you are consistently up on your toes and pivoting a lot from side to side. I was so impressed with the grip and the bounce from pushing of from one Direction to the next which is so ... MoreI'm a very active person regarding sports I've never run in Kayano for before until now, i have to say they will be my go-to training shoe and not just for running alone here's why. The only downside which is a small one in my opinion is the colour scheme of the shoe. But for me, I much prefer being comfortable over stylishly uncomfortable, looks like my table tennis shoes now have a serious competitor.Initial thoughts on the 29's are:• Loads of cushioning and support.• Very responsive toe-off.• Really light, doesn't feel chunky or heavy.• Large toe box, plenty of room in there.

These are a great pair of running shoes. As a regular runner, I was looking for something comfortable and supportive, but also stylish. I found these to be just the ticket. I've had lots of people asking me about them, commenting on how great they look.I've have used them on both long and short runs, and in the gym. They have been comfortable since day one. I'm comparing these running shoes to two previous pairs of Asics; Gel Nimbus 22 and Gel Venture 8 AWL. The instantly noticeable difference is the fit - the Gel Kayano are a perfect fit for me - snug all round without being too tight. The sole has more absorption and spring, providing a greater amount of comfort throughout longer runs. Another noticeable difference is the elasticated laces - these have never come undone during a run, where it happened regularly with the previous pairs. I love these Gel Kayano - brilliant colours, extremely comfortable and with breathability somewhere between the Nimbus and the Venture, they are ideal running shoes for me. Best pair of Asics to date!
I never write reviews but happy to do so for these running shoes. My usual street shoe size is women’s 41 wide so I initially bought the women’s 42 standard, which fit but were uncomfortable. So went for the men’s 43 wide fit. I’ve been for several runs and they are a pleasure to run in, and I have had no knee problems as I did with my previous runners. Please provide a women’s wide fit range too though!
Originally when first wearing these trainers on walks or runs i felt slight discomfort, but after the first two days the trainers held my foot perfectly and were very comfortable. I am between size 10 and 11, I got size 10.5 and they fit perfectly. These trainers provide good cushion for your feet and give you a bit of bounce when walking and running. They're also quite breathable, I tend to sweat alot but these trainers are quite good at managing it.Overall the trainers are quite good and I honestly don't have any major complaints. The only slight issue I'd mention is I'm not a fan of the colour scheme of the trainer at all, they don't quite match any workout attire I'd wear and I would prefer trainers that stand out less but this is a personal preference.
Loved that these trainers were true to size and that from the get go they were comfortable, easy to put on and were worn in very very quickly. I've used them for running, walking and also using a step trainer. They've proved reliable and I'm enjoying using them. The inner soles are sufficiently well constructed that they gives good cushioning and protection from jarring whilst running. Width for my regular width foot is fine and there are no issues with pinching at all. Love the outer fabric which has some slight give in it and accommodates a hot foot after a long session of training.
This is my 10th pair of Kayanos and no doubt not my last. I do a lot of walking and from my first pair to these they continue to support me in my fitness efforts. They are comfortable from day one and require very little break in. They're true to size and in 30 years of wearing ASICS I've been able to wear the same size US 15. My Kayano 28s were a good shoe but the segmented sole seemed, in areas, to lift away from the foam sole which is unfortunate as this has never happened before (maybe a glue issue?). So far my 29s have been fault free.
Over the years I have normally worn Nike training shoes and this was the first time I had tried an Asics pair. First impressions are that they were light and appeared good quality. I am a size 12 with quite wide feet and the fit initially seemed a little tight to get on, but once my foot was in them they felt great, with a snug but not uncomfortable fit/feel. They supported my feet nicely. I also thought they looked great.I normally run my local country lanes a few times a week of between 3-5k and they felt supportive, light and provided a noticeable increased 'bounce' compared to my older Nike Airs especially when running up hills.Due to the recent dry weather I have only tried them in the dry and they gripped well, but I could not comment on what they would be ... MoreOver the years I have normally worn Nike training shoes and this was the first time I had tried an Asics pair. I bought these shoes around a month ago, and when I first tried them on, I was surprised by just how light and bouncy they were (I have previously worn Gel Kayano 26, 27, and 27s). The front end of the shoe points up so that each step kind of rolls into the next, creating a very smooth rhythm when running. In the beginning, the soles of my feet burned when I ran long distances, but when I swapped the shoe sole with the ones from my Gel Kayano 28s, that uncomfortable feeling disappeared. I think the new soles were too shiny and smooth, so my feet slid around inside the shoe, creating friction. After a month of running nearly every day (I currently have 170 miles or ~274 km on my shoes), I can confidently say these Gel Kayanos are the best shoes I have purchased so ... MoreI bought these shoes around a month ago, and when I first tried them on, I was surprised by just how light and bouncy they were (I have previously worn Gel Kayano 26, 27, and 27s). They are — as always — very durable, comfortable, and they don't unnecessarily tire out my legs in any way! 10/10 would recommend it (if you have the money).
