Be careful with the new Kayano 30 model

I bought a pair of the new Kayano 30s on the assumption that this was a similar shoe to the Kayano 29s and previous models. It is not. This is a very different shoe to previous Kayanos - the very aggressive new "Hoka-like" cushioning around the heel and midsole has caused me significant lower leg issues. As a runner who wears orthodics to address over pronation in the left ankle, this shoe really did not work for me (in contract to the Kayano 29s). So be wary of this shoe - it is a radically different design from the 29s and previous Kayanos. I will move to another brand.

I have the older model for work and brand new ones for the treadmill. One week at work wearing these and the pain was gone. So now I have 2 pairs! They are amazing for my wide 'man' feet too. I can wear black ones with jeans, work uniform, gym kit. I'm in them all day. The only negative is the top toe fabric is thinning and I'm putting a hole in my first pair. I've been putting these ASICS Gel-Kayano running shoes to the test for a month now, and I've really enjoyed running in them. Ive been using them for indoor sprints as well as longer outdoor runs, and these shoes have been a great addition to my training. The level of support they provide is really great, giving me the confidence to push myself without worrying about my knees which in the past have caused me issues while running longer distances. The shoes are not only supportive but incredibly comfortable, making each stride a breeze. If you're in search of a pair of running shoes that truly have your back (and knees), these would be a good consideration.

The Gel-Kayano 30 is an exceptional running shoe that truly delivers on comfort and support. From the moment I put them on, I felt like I could run without any discomfort or issues. The fit is spot-on, providing the right amount of support for my feet during my runs.In terms of appearance, the Gel-Kayano 30 has a distinct look compared to previous models, but it's surprisingly appealing in person. The design has a unique charm that grows on you, and it certainly stands out among other running shoes. As for its intended use, these shoes are perfect for running. Good Looking, sturdy but flexible Running Shoes
14 August 2023

This is my 2nd pair of Asics running shoes, and they more expensive than I'd normally buy.First of all they are a good looking pair of shoes, but that's not really what matters in a running shoe, so on with my running experience in them. I slipped my feet in and the fit was perfect and we set off on our first 10K together. I'm nut sure if it was me not being used to the FF BLAST PLUS cushioning or the Gel in the rear and front but the GEL-KAYANO 30 felt heavy on my feet, and my leg muscles ached in places they hadn't before, I also had issues with my Achilles despite or maybe because of the AHARPLUS™ heel. Despite all that I managed the run in a decent time for me.I've now completed half a dozen runs in them and it may have just been that either they needed ... MoreThis is my 2nd pair of Asics running shoes, and they more expensive than I'd normally buy.First of all they are a good looking pair of shoes, but that's not really what matters in a running shoe, so on with my running experience in them. Kayano 30 - unrecognisable as a Kayano
16 July 2023

I’ve waited patiently for a year for the Kayano 30 after skipping the 29s which was quite a departure from my faithful Kayano 28s.The 30s were not worth the wait.A totally revamped overbuilt shoe - like a hoka bondi with ASICS branding. The step in feel is amazing and initially you feel these shoes are so comfortable while walking. Once you start to run the true Kayano 30 reveals itself. The shoe runs a little narrow and short so be aware. The upper is much better than the 29 but has little in the way of ventilation. A wide midsole gives the impression of stability however the overly soft cushioned foam lends itself to an unstable ponderous run. I felt I had to fight the cushion as i sank into it to propel myself forward. And at the price of £180 I expected much ... MoreI’ve waited patiently for a year for the Kayano 30 after skipping the 29s which was quite a departure from my faithful Kayano 28s.The 30s were not worth the wait.A totally revamped overbuilt shoe - like a hoka bondi with ASICS branding. The step in feel is amazing and initially you feel these shoes are so comfortable while walking. Kayano 30 review

A cpmpletly revised shoe and for anyone like me looking for the Kayano 26 this is not it maybe asics should continuw the good shoes. Why change an amazinf shoe to compete with the trend of brining oht new models. If it works keep it. But this s an amazing shoe. The 29 was horendous.this, like i said is a completely different shoe just the same name.Much more stack and more cushioning but the over pronation element is obvious and very effective. Ideal for the long runs where over pronation affects us most. Not ideal for the fast runs but not impossible either, it really depends what you expect and are used to.

Lush! The best in stability just got better!
30 June 2023

As a long term Kayano lover - and having run lots of miles in them - I was excited to receive these and they absolutely did not disappoint from the moment I opened the box. Look great and feel fantastic! So comfortable from the moment you slide your feet into them. Perfect fit - hugging the feet just right. Love that ASICS are so heavily considering sustainability in these too with a proportion of natural substitutes replacing chemical components. Love everything about them!! Excited to up the mileage in them as they feel like they're going to carry me a long way!!

Premium cushioned running shoe
15 August 2023

First time running in ASICS and I'm impressed. Having read that earlier iterations of this shoe tended to come up small, especially in the toe box, I was a little worried, but this new designed model seems to have overcome that obstacle - I had no issue with my usual running shoe size (being a size up from dress/casual shoes)The shoes have a premium look and feel, matching the price tag, which is noticeable as soon as they are on your feet. Cushiony soft with a comfortable upper that holds your foot securely. These are definitely a shoe for longer, slow runs - the weight prevents them from being used for speedier workouts or tempo runs. Think long Sunday recovery run - this however makes them a tad expensive compared to other shoes in the same bucket.Overall, ... MoreFirst time running in ASICS and I'm impressed. Why can't it be comfortable right out of the box?
29 November 2021

I've been wearing Asics footwear for over 10 years, so I'm pretty devoted to the brand. I love the styling and the support they provide for both my walking and running. And since I have plantar fasciitis, I really need excellent arch support and stability.Sadly, I also have wide feet. And as anyone who runs/walks and also has wide feet, you know that footwear manufacturers do NOT cater to this market. Your choices are far and few between. Until recently Asics offered a decent selection of shoes in my size (11 4E). However my last two purchases (Gel-Nimbus 23 and this model, GT-2000 10) are not comfortable right out of the box. They have to be broken-in. Same with this model. So my advice to my fellow wide-feet runners is to break these in with moderate walks and/or a shoe stretcher, because the last thing you want is to commit yourself to a serious run and your little toes feel tight and cramped against the outside of the toe box.
