I've worn the Gel-Kayano many times over the years, and this update is the nicest to run in yet. The new stability system feels very nice, I like the way it works "with" your foot to provide stability where needed, but doesn't restrict unnecessary movement with rigid plastics in the midsole. It feels nice and intuitive to run in. A great mileage shoe

Ran 5k in them. Felt great. Loads of cushioning and support. Not at all heavy. The 4D guidance system gives you a feeling of staying in control throughout the run while providing the additional support for over pronation

I have worn Kayano's now as one of my training shoes since the 90's and looked forward to the revamped model. They feel good putting on and comfortable initially. After about 30 minutes I can feel the inner sole warming, after another 5 minutes it is uncomfortable hot and after another 10 minutes it is unbearable. I have tried them now on three runs and cannot go past that 45 minute mark as the soles of my feet, particularly the heel pad are buring. I'm assuming it is the Gel reacting, perhaps it's a manufacturing fault or a design fault but I know I cannot use these shoes for what was intended.

I’ve waited patiently for a year for the Kayano 30 after skipping the 29s which was quite a departure from my faithful Kayano 28s.The 30s were not worth the wait.A totally revamped overbuilt shoe - like a hoka bondi with ASICS branding. The step in feel is amazing and initially you feel these shoes are so comfortable while walking. Once you start to run the true Kayano 30 reveals itself. The shoe runs a little narrow and short so be aware. The upper is much better than the 29 but has little in the way of ventilation. A wide midsole gives the impression of stability however the overly soft cushioned foam lends itself to an unstable ponderous run. I felt I had to fight the cushion as i sank into it to propel myself forward. As a long term Kayano lover - and having run lots of miles in them - I was excited to receive these and they absolutely did not disappoint from the moment I opened the box. Look great and feel fantastic! So comfortable from the moment you slide your feet into them. Perfect fit - hugging the feet just right. Love that ASICS are so heavily considering sustainability in these too with a proportion of natural substitutes replacing chemical components. Love everything about them!! Excited to up the mileage in them as they feel like they're going to carry me a long way!!
The GEL-KAYANO has never left me down and here it is again wanting me to jump in and do more miles in them. I had no need to break them and felt the comfort from the start. The new 4D guidance system technology make this show responsive. And lastly you can't forgot that the carbon footprint for this shoe is 14% less than industry average. I look forward to many more miles in these
As a big Gel-Nimbus 25 fan, I wasn't sure whether I'd be sold with the Gel-Kayano 30. But after a 5k loop around the block, I will definity keep them for this type of run. I like the Nimbus for super slow, long runs, but these are perfect for those shorter runs where they don't feel quite as 'cloud like', but more reactive and supportive. They also look very cool, so will be my go to run-to-brunch shoes! I did have to go half a size bigger than the Nimbus.
I have been using this shoe for 3 weeks now and they are by far the most comfortable shoe I have owned. Very grateful for this timely investment. The wear and tear of fifty years of running are starting to show up on my hips and knees. My doctors have been telling me to stop running if the pain gets worse. With these shoes, the pain has actually all but disappeared!
The Kayano’s were my first ever serious running shoe. They’ve always been my favourite and still to this day think they’re the best stability trainers on the planet. The difference between the 29’s to 30’s is huge! The comfort, fit, and bounce of the shoe have improved massively. I can’t wait to put these on and run!I highly recommend these trainers for anyone that needs a stability shoe :)
I've been wearing Asics footwear for over 10 years, so I'm pretty devoted to the brand. I love the styling and the support they provide for both my walking and running. And since I have plantar fasciitis, I really need excellent arch support and stability.Sadly, I also have wide feet. And as anyone who runs/walks and also has wide feet, you know that footwear manufacturers do NOT cater to this market. Your choices are far and few between. Until recently Asics offered a decent selection of shoes in my size (11 4E). However my last two purchases (Gel-Nimbus 23 and this model, GT-2000 10) are not comfortable right out of the box. They have to be broken-in. Oddly, I didn't have that issue with the Gel-Nimbus 22, so when that model was discontinued, I was hoping that ... MoreI've been wearing Asics footwear for over 10 years, so I'm pretty devoted to the brand. Same with this model. So my advice to my fellow wide-feet runners is to break these in with moderate walks and/or a shoe stretcher, because the last thing you want is to commit yourself to a serious run and your little toes feel tight and cramped against the outside of the toe box.
