The Sneaker Freaker x ASICS Gel-Lyte 3 “Tiger Snake” is a reptilian design cooked up by the legendary Australian sneaker magazine and the equally fabled ASICS footwear brand. With roots dating back to their very first collaboration in 2010 on ASICS “Alvin Purple” Gel-Lyte 3, the two international giants in their respective industries link once more, this time honoring the antipodean fauna tiger snake found in Sneaker Freaker’s homeland and ASICS origins as the Onitsuka Tiger Company. An ode to the alpha predator, the design of the Gel-Lyte 3 features a light brown cowhide leather that covers the toe, mid-panel, and collar. Pinkish-orange overlays accent the forefoot, eyelets, and mesh window on the heel. Black leather covers the heel and is contrasted by gold Gel-Lyte 3 branding. Below, a black midsole with pink splatter detailing along with a pink outsole put the finishing touches on this limited collaboration.
