The Gel-Nimbus 25 are my first Asics cushioned long run shoes. I switched brand as I couldn’t get a replacement in my size and I had heard great things of the Gel-Nimbus 25. After running in them now for just over a month I have some good and not so good views.The good, they are certainly the most comfiest running shoes I’ve had over the years. The New ASICS Gel Nimbus 25's are a change for me having used other brands previously.They have very soft slouchy soles which really do provide an optimum comfort especially when you're pounding concrete on a run, helping ease pressure on your joints. They have now taken over as my primary running shoe. Like most good running shoes they won't keep your feet dry if you run through puddles or in the rain but that does mean they're very breathable.Of course with this the sole is a dominating feature of the trainer which does stand out and particularly lends itself to running over walking, however the sole does get dirty easily and is a bit of a challenge to clean, that said, the entire design isn't exactly subtle! A great shoe for my long, easy runs, and recovery runs. I run for hours in them. A solid 4 stars. The plushness of the upper is still there, and the softness of the midsole is still soft. Me having a wide foot, I find there is plenty of room in the toe box when my feet expand. This shoe has spoiled me because I'm so use to the comfort; I don't want to take them off, but I have speed days, and use another shoe for those days. It just has the right amount of squish underfoot. So why not 5 stars? I have wide feet, so while the upper fits pretty good, the outsole rubber doesn't really cover the whole bottom of the midsole. That flaw causes the the outer part of the midsole to wear away as you can see in one of the pictures. My walks are routinely on concrete, pavement slabs, ashpalt and canal/river tow paths. The sole of these trainers are very durable and don't feature soft, deep rubber tread that you would find on hiking or trail boots/shoes. So they are ideal for the terrain I walk. I sometimes suffer from plantar fascia pains, so wanted very soft and light footwear to help out. These certainly do the job. They are incredibly light, making long walks very enjoyable.
