I am new to Asics. The GEL-NIMBUS 26 EXTRA WIDE is the first sneaker in quite some time that I have bought that has revolutionized my life! Yes...those are strong words! But these shoes are amazing. I wore them most of the day yesterday, took a walk with my dog with then, etc., and found them extremely comfortable! I was volunteering for a five-hour event today and chose to wear them for the event. They were so comfortable I felt like I was walking on air! If they made the black version with a black sole, I'd get a 2nd pair. I'm not a fan of all that white rubber on the bottom, so won't get a 2nd pair. Really great sneakers!

I did not like the nimbus 25 to a point where I bought hoka bindi 8 XL and the Brooks ghost max. This shoe for me cured everything I hated about the nimbus 25 tongue was scratchy and to tight, sole was two soft after a month, and lace system would never feel right. These shoes are awesome, and slippery grip. unlike the other two shoes that required an aetrex insert to feel comfortable these required none. I plan to buy the other two colors for the year I like them so much ASIC do not screw up again.

I’ve ran in gel-nimbus sense 2011 and have never had any problems at all. Nimbus 26 are very comfortable. The changes starting last year and this year all very good. The shoe is perfect for my foot. I have a high arch and skinny heal. I’m a diabetic and appreciate the support I get on this shoe. I buy my shoes from fleet feet at the turkey creek Knoxville location and appreciate their employees for knowledge and understanding of the shoes and running in general.

When I first tried these Asics Gel-Nimbus 26 they felt like a part of my foot. The fit was perfect and so comfortable. Today is the first day I ran in them and I was very impressed with the smooth and comfy ride. The only negative is the original inserts in ALL running shoes are so cheap. The consumer pays a lot of money for a good pair of running shoes and these companies should include a better grade of inserts.
I have been using ASICS Gel-Nimbus since the #4 so lots of Nimbus miles of satisfaction! I am a 5'5' and 145 lb runner and am 76 years old with 7 marathons and many shorter races on Asics Gel-Numbus.. I love the fit and the pull on strap on heel and the looks and cushioning. My reason for a rating of 4 versus 5 is in the stability and I am getting a little more used to that. It was a shock compared to all previous models when I first put them on and went for a run. The toe box felt really good but the heal stability is taking some getting used to as I felt my heel was not providing the stability I had grown used to on previous models. Maybe just getting used to the added cushioning and heel size will change my mind over time.
I wanted to love these so much, but it's the worst feeling Nimbus I have ever tried. This is the tightest 4E shoe I've ever put on my foot. The "sock-like" liner is a not-so stretchy material that squeezes the entire foot. Even with the laces removed, it's still a VERY tight fit. I know it is a new shoe, but I don't know if mine was a factory defect and they sent me a D width with a 4E label, or what? Also the ankle collar is an odd design. It's like it clamps the back half of the ankle, but then there is nothing holding the front part of the ankle area. I've had other Asics that have a form fit cushion around the ankle, but this would not let my foot sit low enough to wrap around the ankle - Almost as if the measurements were for a size 9 or 10, but left the same ... MoreI wanted to love these so much, but it's the worst feeling Nimbus I have ever tried. I've had other Asics that have a form fit cushion around the ankle, but this would not let my foot sit low enough to wrap around the ankle - Almost as if the measurements were for a size 9 or 10, but left the same and not proportionate for my size 16. It you are the slightest bit claustrophobic, pass on this shoe. If you can try it on BEFORE ordering a pair sight unseen, I would 100% recommend doing that. I'm going back to the Brooks Ghost.
The shoe is light with breathable fabric that makes wearing them in hot weather comfortable. However, this is the third pair with this fabric style and on the previous two my toe nail pierced the fabric. I do 1-2 hours of cardio five times a week and I surprised by how the shoe longevity is curtailed because of the breach. I am hoping this pair can hold better to my conditioning. I do love the soles cushion, it is by far the best I’ve had in any shoe.
Worn asics probably the last 15+ years and up until the 25 and 26 and the vreat idea of extra cushion, never had a problem. All 4 pairs (2) 25 (2) 26 resulted in holes in the big toe area. I put in for 1 warranty for the pair of 26 and got approved, wore the new pair for less than a month a got another big hole and got denied warranty. Since they put this extra cushion in, i believe in some way its forcing my big toe up more. Just my opinion but no other logical reason for this to just start happening. Unfortunately i cant keep paying $160 for shoes that dont last.
I have owned around 10 pair of ASICS Gel Nimbus. The change they made starting with the 25s is my favorite. I was excited to buy the 26s when they came out. But, I had to return the 26s. They were just as comfortable as the 25s, but I think they changed the compound of the outer sole. I work 12 hour shifts in a Hospital, and the 26s squeaked the whole 12 hr shift. It would go away for a bit, then come right back. I tried it for 2 shifts and it didn’t get any better. That’s about 24 hours of wearing them and it sounded like I was playing NBA basketball outside patients rooms lol! Plus, I work night shift. So I had to return them. Now I’m just buying all the 25s I can find!
I was a bit skeptical when i ordered these trainers. I am a hefty bloke at 118kg, with extreme supination, recovering broken ankle and a partially clubbed foot. At 56 Im rather particular when it comes to footwear to say the least. I fancied rather than solely mountain biking I'd start jogging. These trainers were wide enough and supportive to do 5k on the treadmill. This beat the Brooks i had where foot pain would stop the jogging after 3k or so.With the returns policy well worth a tryout.
