Bought a few months ago and the design just doesn’t compare to the 2 pairs of Fujitrabuco 8 gtx trainers that were so reliable on rough, wet, muddy ground. They feel a little too lightweight, are lacking armour to deal effectively with stony ground and don’t keep my feet dry enough. It didn’t take long for a split to open up on the goretex upoer where the tie bends - on both shoes.

Excellent pair of all weather comfortable trail shoes. I had a pair of Salamon trail shoes before these and they were good but not that comfortable. I own a couple of pairs of Asics Kayano and I wanted something that was as comfortable but that were waterproof. Well these have proven to be just the job. It has been terrible weather over the last couple of weeks and the Trabucos have excelled in the wet and mud. A hose down on return home and they areas good a new again. Proper grip too! I would highly recommend.

I have about 50 miles in these shoes and I can say that I am pleased with them. I purchased these to have a pair of trail shoes for winter conditions. The upper is soft and flexible, especially for a Gore-tex lined shoe. There is plenty of space with a roomy toe box and width for your feet to spread out. (My feet are low volume/regular D width for reference) Ride is medium-soft with a nice amount of flexibility and not too stiff like some other trail shoes out there. Outsole is grippy in wet/muddy conditions as well as snowy/icy. Overall good trail shoe that is nice looking and comfortable!

Wore these for a 24hr race which had mixed terrain including tarmac paths and grass covered hills. Traction was great on both surfaces, and particularly on the grass which was wet early morning from a heavy dew. Feet remained dry and shoes were comfortable throughout. Cushioning was adequate on the tarmac sections and never felt too thin which it can do with some trail shoes. Highly recommended.
I've previously owned the standard trabuco and really enjoyed the fit and comfort, so bought the GTX version to avoid wet feet in the autumn/winter. So far they have been great. They are true to size, grip well at the heel but also have decent room for the toes. Breathability seems okay, but as I'm still breaking them in I've not yet gone for a long distance.
I've been getting Asics shoes with goretex as my go-to winter and wet weather shoe for many years now. Good traction on snow and ice - as good as a shoe without traction aids can be. Fits my wide size 12 feet perfectly straight out of the box. In the summer, I switch to something more breathable but do pull them out for rainy weather. Just a great shoe all around, especially for colder, wetter conditions. Could also be considered as a light hiker if you don't need/want the added ankle protection of a boot.
These trainers look great! and they feel great... there could be a little more cushioning inside and around the heel but other than that these seem spot on. I've not really tested waterproofing yet... Not been up the mountain as of yet but I have actually worn these with my fitness gear as they look smart with a slimline look to them. Also the laces seem grippy which I assume would stop them coming undone when running which I really like.
Great comfort and support, the extra cushionong makes a huge difference. The fit is snug and not too tight, the grip from the sole is fantastic! I have been across all terrains and they just hold you and give you confidence to keep going. These are my second pair and I would most definitely go for a 3rd when the time comes.
Great service with speedy delivery. Couldn't wait to try my first ever pair of Asics, can't believe I, or rather my feet, have missed out for all these years. I am so impressed with the sizing and how comfortable they are, I ended up walking 6 miles, on various surfaces including wet grass, and my feet were dry. The grip was reassuring on wet surfaces and I felt secure. My legs felt much less fatigue and I could have carried on walking for longer. Very happy and have now ordered the GT1000 11 GTX for me and my Dad. Definitely an Asics convert here.
Very comfortable shoe, with plenty of cushioning , front and back. Large grips on the sole will ensure no slipping or sliding on steep / wet terrain. Great arch support also. Highly recommended for those needing a great shoe for trail & mountain running.
