I usually buy the Gel Nimbus in a 2E width but due to current financial constraints needed a cheaper alternative(embarrassing for a man to admit but lost everything due to being a victim of domestic physical violence inflicted by ex-girlfriend). Having read a review on an American website that stated the toebox on the Contend 7 was very accommodating decide to give these shoes a go, have to say I have no regrets. They might not be as technically advanced as the Nimbus but at a third of the price one cannot complain. In summary, for those looking for a cost effective, comfortable and efficient shoe then seriously consider the Gel-Contend 7.

This is quite a comfortable everyday shoe. i was pleasantly surprised by the amount of cushioning and comfort, especially for the price i paid. It is also quite decent looking an dblends in with almost whatever i wear except formals. Highly recommended if one's ona budget and is looking for quality shoes.Durability/longevity not assessed.

I bought these Contend 7 shoes as an upgrade to my Contend 5 shoes. I was very happy with Contend 5 but Contend 7 are inferior in my humble opinion. They are narrow fitting, with no inside arch support. Length was OK. Contend 5 were wide fitting with some arch support. The design/look of the blue Contend 7 was duller than advertised. In hindsight, I should have visited a store to examine/fit these shoes before buying - buying shoes online can be a gamble.

This is an extremely comfortable shoe, it’s pretty lightweight and looks decent when you have it on.I already owned a pair of ASIC Gel Contend in a different colour but tbh I was not familiar with the name/model of the shoe, In the recent sale I was looking for another pair of trainers and ordered these, so I was delighted when they arrived and found they’re the same model as I had already - just a different colour. A bargain at £42.00 in the sale.
Having been wearing a pair of ASICS for some time as an everyday shoe/trainer, it made sense to purchase a pair for running in place of my Brooks. Gel contender 7 looked good and had good reviews in many publications. After purchasing, the shoes were delivered quickly and efficiently. On arrival when trying on, the left shoe fit well, very comfortable. The right shoe felt different, not so comfortable, when walking the left shoe was very comfortable but the right shoe rubbed the heel and felt as if the ball of the foot did not fit the insert. When running the same was found and gave blisters. Hopefully in a short timeframe the right shoe will become comfortable.
I’m a woman with wide feet so got men’s standard shoes rather than women’s wide shoes for the first time and wow! There is adequate room in my usual size and it’s so comfy. I’ve always had gel-excite but found they just got narrower and narrower as the different versions came out. These are light but not bouncy so perfect for easy runs and general gym/walks. A great all-rounder trainer.
A great light in weight supportive trainer. Great deal on price and speedy delivery from Germany to the UK. I also bought another pair in blue metal which are just as good. Spending over £50 meant free postage which was worth having. ASICS also do free returns if you are not happy with the product. I have been buying ASICS for many years . I find the quality and fit meets the needs of my feet, for sporting activities.
The shoes were cheap $(50AUD), so thought I’d give them a try. They are not very good.The soles are hard! They feel like compressed, hard foam, they don’t take on the shape of your foot over time, it’s almost like wearing cheap work boots or something. I remember owning ASICS gel shoes when I was younger, and they weren’t like these at all. I have an old pair of adidas shoes, they’re about 8-9 years old now, and they are slightly more comfortable and still feel a lot feel more supportive than these brand new ASICS gel shoes.Not recommend.

Armed with the excellent advice from the sales attendant, I purchased men's running shoes despite being female. Simply because they were more comfortable. They are light and easy to wear albeit not as cushiony to walk in as previous Asics I've owned. This brand suits my wide foot. Another factor in my choice was value for money. These shoes fit the bill.
