This is an extremely comfortable shoe, it’s pretty lightweight and looks decent when you have it on.I already owned a pair of ASIC Gel Contend in a different colour but tbh I was not familiar with the name/model of the shoe, In the recent sale I was looking for another pair of trainers and ordered these, so I was delighted when they arrived and found they’re the same model as I had already - just a different colour. A bargain at £42.00 in the sale.

Having been wearing a pair of ASICS for some time as an everyday shoe/trainer, it made sense to purchase a pair for running in place of my Brooks. Gel contender 7 looked good and had good reviews in many publications. After purchasing, the shoes were delivered quickly and efficiently. On arrival when trying on, the left shoe fit well, very comfortable. The right shoe felt different, not so comfortable, when walking the left shoe was very comfortable but the right shoe rubbed the heel and felt as if the ball of the foot did not fit the insert. When running the same was found and gave blisters. Hopefully in a short timeframe the right shoe will become comfortable.
I’m a woman with wide feet so got men’s standard shoes rather than women’s wide shoes for the first time and wow! There is adequate room in my usual size and it’s so comfy. I’ve always had gel-excite but found they just got narrower and narrower as the different versions came out. These are light but not bouncy so perfect for easy runs and general gym/walks. A great all-rounder trainer.
A great light in weight supportive trainer. Great deal on price and speedy delivery from Germany to the UK. I also bought another pair in blue metal which are just as good. Spending over £50 meant free postage which was worth having. ASICS also do free returns if you are not happy with the product. I have been buying ASICS for many years . I find the quality and fit meets the needs of my feet, for sporting activities.
I didnt pay alot of money for these and asics do offer higher end trianers to which i own several pairs. I purchased these as a casual pair of trainers for around the home and chores. Not for heavy duty exercise. Although given the build quality i would be very comfortable walking / jogging in them

Generally, this means I need new shoes and, since my dollars are tight right now and I have been nothing but satisfied with ASICS shoes, I took a chance. My last shoes gave me 900 km before my legs started to hurt (more than I should have probably gone without a tread change), so I was hoping the next pair could do the same.I haven't reached 900 km yet, but so far I am wildly impressed. The shoes feel sturdy, they're relatively light weight, and they are really comfortable. What would be the point of having slick looking shoes when the rest of you is covered in snot, sweat, or both?I've been skeptical about pinching pennies when buying shoes because, as the adage goes, you get what you pay for. In the case of the GEL-CONTEND 7s, you get what you pay for several times over! I highly recommend for anyone looking to buy a decent pair of road runners for a reasonable price.

I've had several pairs of ASICS over the past 10 years and am usually happy with them. These came from the outlet website on black Friday - they were very cheap at £26, so expectations were modest. They have excelled though - every bit as comfortable as my usual £60+ pairs.. bargain!
