I have been wearing various iterations of the Cumulus for at least the last seven years, overtime the shoe has evolved but the new extra midsole is the most dramatic change that I have seen. I admit that I was skeptical at first however when I put them on and took my first step I knew that these were winners. The cushioning is pronounced but not so think as some others (H***) ; the fit and support are as perfect as they have been in every version that I have worn. In terms of fit; I wear a size 12 (in Asics, Brooks Ghosts, and Nike) and these fit just as I expected they would. I have a narrow foot with a high arch and once again, they fit my foot well, no excessive fabric or width. Its an all around great shoe. If you liked the previous Cumulus you'll appreciate ... MoreI have been wearing various iterations of the Cumulus for at least the last seven years, overtime the shoe has evolved but the new extra midsole is the most dramatic change that I have seen. I discovered these Gel Cumulus 25 running shoes while on vacation in Tennessee. I went into a Asics factory store and tried on several of their shoes. After trying the Cumulus 25 on, I knew I had to have them. The cushioning on these is the best I have ever had. I have been running for almost 30 years for cardio and weight management, so I have tried many brands of shoes. These Asics offer a fantastic ride, with no foot or leg pain at all. The toe box on these is a little wider than most, so that keeps my toes loose and free! My first pair I purchased in April 24 have started to wear, after 450+ miles, so it was nice to find these on clearance at Academy. The fit on both pair is identical, the shoes are well-made. These are comfy however, the cushion seems to be less than the 24s. In addition, the sizing seems to run a little bigger than the 24s as well. I don't know if that's because the cushion is less in these. The 24s felt a little tight on the top of my foot while these 25s do not. I have to lace them tighter to hold. It's a must to double knot these as well, because the laces are thick and slippery, they untie constantly throughout the day.I gave them a 3 star because of the quirks and differences from the previous pair. Also, these have a loop on the back of the shoe where the 24s didn't. I'm indifferent to this.I love ASICS, I just wish they would stop changing the models every year.I wear these as an X-ray tech and stand a lot in the OR. I bought a pair of the Cumulus 25 at a great price a few weeks ago. However, the material on one of the shoes rubbed & irritated my ankle- so much I had to stop wearing them. I called customer service & explained the situation &They listened but the ASICS.com policy was if they are worn outside NO refund & NO exchange & NO website credit.I explained that I own two other pairs of cumulus 25 shoes &I love them so perhaps I got a defective pair. But they stuck to their policy. The shoes were worn inside teaching indoors & on sidewalks with minimal marks. They didn’t deviate from the policy so I would recommend DONT buy shoes from ASICS.com as there will be no wiggle room if things don’t work out. The shoes initially felt springy and supportive but after a did an initial long run (8 miles), I had to stop for a week because I felt like I had plantar fasciitis. I had the same style ASICS before—or so I thought—but afterwards, these felt like there was perhaps too much arch support. Since I thought they were the same as my old shoes, and I was satisfied with them before, I assumed these would be similar when I bought them online (from the tablet in the store). I was mistaken. I had to take a week off from running to ice and let it recover and even after a week, when I tried them on, it felt like there was a ball under my left foot. I’m now running my half marathon with my old pair of shoes instead to prevent a repeat of this past week. Not satisfied.Fleet feet has been great in the past, but the in-store inventory needs to grow a bit more. I also wish they would have done another gait analysis just to be sure that the shoe I was getting was still appropriate for me.
Recently I just found out that I am a flat-footed supinator based on the footstrike pattern I have in the Superblasts. All this time I thought I was a flat-footed overpronator. No wonder the Kayano platform doesn't agree with me. So I hopped on the Cumulus 25 platform. Man, this shoe is so comfortable. The step-in feel is incredible like I am on a soft mattress. I walk around a lot in the hospital and this shoe alleviated some of my mild plantar fasciitis. I also run 20-30 miles per week training for races. I actually used this as my work and recovery shoe because it is so soft. It is also very stable due to its wide platform. I took it on a 5 mile easy run the first time, and it is a great daily trainer. I recommend this shoe. Trainer looks and feels really good. It is very light. Perfect for walking or running. I have been wearing ASICS trainers more than four years now. Unfortunately, my regular ASICS trainer was no longer available, I have opted out for this product. Although, i bought same size as my previous ASICS trainer, this product seems to be half a size smaller at the front which causes pain even after 5k. I have decided to use it as my social shoes, still feels painful to stand. I don't know if the company will take it back as faulty product or not. Hence, i decided to give two star. If you still decided to purchase this product make sure you get half a size bigger than your usual size.
I bought a pair of these trainers last month after signing up to couch to 5k and completing most of it in an inappropriate pair of trainers. These are so comfortable and I can honestly say that they majorly improvement how I feel whilst running and afterwards. The gel cushioning is extremely comfortable and the grip is great. I've also run in the rain in them and they wash really well too! I almost expected to have blisters the first few times I wore them and ran but I didnt, I also have quite wide square feet and can sometimes find fit hard but these fit like a glove I can't praise them enough for their comfort! Would definitely buy another pair.
I've been running in Asics for 30 years and the Cumulus has been a consistently good shoe for me, however, I am quite dissapointed with the new version since they widened the heal. Its not the same as previous Cumulus designs. Its very different in my opinion. The shoe now feels like its made for motion control and/or heavier runners. The whole sole is wider. Traction is poorer and the shoe is louder. Also, I think Asics might be trying to mimic the dorky Hoka brand with the chunky heel. Not necessary. I'll be looking for a different shoe for my next pair.
Loves the shoes that I got. They are comfortable and were on a clearance deal so they were pretty cheap for the model. Shipping was quick and they updated me on the status frequently. Only reason I’m not giving a 5 star is because the shoes had looked like they were worn once or twice and returned or that they were a display shoe. The bottoms were visibly dirty (they are white so it was pretty obvious). Doesn’t really bother me, but when buying online I kind of expect a brand new pair. Maybe I’m wrong for those expectations for a clearance item? I’m not sure. All in all love the shoes and had a good experience width ordering them through Academy
