This is my first time running in Asics Kayano since 2015. I had read a lot of positive reviews about the Kayano 30 and I was very curious to try them. I was very impressed from the moment I opened the box. The shoe is very well designed and looks fantastic. You can feel the support from the moment you put them on. Small but very significant details such as high quality laces are a really significant touch and make a huge difference. I have ran in them on a few occasions and can really feel the support and difference. This is a great running shoe. I am really glad I made the switch back to Asics.

I am a 69 year old man with overpronation and walk 5-6 miles almost every day. I have worn the Kayano 28 and 29 for the last 2 years and have enjoyed the comfort and wearability of these shoes. December 2023, I purchased a pair of the Asics Kayano 30’s online. I received my new shoes and started on my morning walk. I noticed after 2 miles my hips were beginning hurt and continued on my walk until I returned home. I had to take my shoes off immediately when I got home and noticed I had very sore muscles in my calves and my hips. Two days later, I thought I’d try my shoes on one more walk and at the end of my walk I had the same results. I went back to wearing my Kayano 29’s and chalk up the purchase of Asics Kayano 30 as a bad purchase and search out other brands. ... MoreI am a 69 year old man with overpronation and walk 5-6 miles almost every day. I have an issue with my right foot and have worn cartilage on the ball of my foot from working as a service repair tech for over 26 yrs. I have always gone straight to New Balance or Hoka but was pleasantly surprised at these Ascis and how amazingly comfortable they were the moment my feet slid inside them. Although these Asics are the ugliest shoe Asics may have ever produced, they are the most comfortable pair of Asics Kayano's I have owned (and, I have been buying Kayano's since 2006 - I believe they were Kayano 7's). I received the shoes 2 days before leaving for Europe on a 16-day trip that included walking 216,936 steps and 375 flights of stairs according to my Apple iPhone. I took no other shoe along. I had no sore points, my feet were happy every day. These Kayano 30's are the best design for a stable platform too. I only mis-stepped once and that was on the crazy cobblestone plaza/streets of Munich, Germany.
I'm training for the London marathon, so needed a decent pair of trainers. I've had issues with tendonitis so needed something really supportive. These were recommended by my brother so I dropped-in to the Oxford Street flagship store for fitting. I have wide feet so needed the 2E width. It was a toss-up between UK 9.5 and 10. The very helpful assistant advised going larger. I've since done 3x 5 mile runs and 1x 11 miler and struggling a bit. Comfort and support-wise these are fantastic, and they are certainly helping with the achilles tendon. However I'm finding running with them quite challenging. I was hoping for a nice floaty, cushioned ride, but these seem to be quite "slappy" and clunky. particularly when running uphill or once my legs start to tire. I've been through several iterations of the Gel-Kayano wide running shoes and have written 5 star rave reviews on this website. But the GK 30 wide is a huge disappointment. I bought a pair last November, by the end of March the outer side of the heel had worn away by about half an inch! Still, because I'm training for a May charity walking marathon, and did not want to radically change my gear at this late stage, I decided to stick with these and ordered another pair (which arrived about 10 days ago). After just 3 6-mile power walks, the outside of the heel of my left shoe has worn down to the point where it is now eating into the foam! I know I wear my shoes down quite rapidly because of overpronation. But this is really quite unacceptable. In short, if you have a tendency to overpronate ( and this shoe is supposedly designed for just this) then I would not recommend buying the GK 30 wide.
I came looking for a shoe I could stand up in all day without foot pain. This was the one! At first, I felt like my foot was being tilted backwards. However, I decided to make a couple of adjustments by removing the factory installed insoles and adding a pair of Massaging Gel insoles and a pair of Massaging Gel Heel Cushions underneath to ensure proper leveling of my feet.. These two inserts made all the difference as it ensures my foot position inside the shoe is never uncomfortable. I chose Asics because I have an older pair of this brand that allowed me the lkuxery of standing all day at work with no pain at all! I admit I didn't use the shoe selector as provided on the website to get the right shoe, but given my previous experience with the brand, I was most of ... MoreI came looking for a shoe I could stand up in all day without foot pain. I simply needed insoles that I could use to replace those removed in order to ensure I could get the maximum comfort without the issue of using factory installed insoles which could wear out. Thanks Asics!
Great shoe for flat feet but I have been running in them for less than 6 month and less than 150km and already got a hole in the upper fabric, really poor durability. That's not the most disappointing thing which is the fact that ASICS customers services are absolutely shocking. Instead of understanding it's either a manufacturing fault or poor durability they blame my running style and offer 50% off another pair of them. It's a £180 shoe, this should not be happening never mind spending another £90 on a shoe that's still pretty new. No matter how great the shoe works and feels, keep away due to poor overall quality and even worse service. As a newer runner I expected way more
Very cushiony with some support too. My main issue is that these feel very heavy. I've had other versions of the Kayano and most were like that too, though, so I knew what I was getting. Since they're being used for longer and slower runs that's OK, but I'd still prefer if they were a bit lighter. Also, I am in between regular and wide... got wide this time, which gave me more room, but the shoes still seemed a bit short in length. The tips of my big toes still felt crammed. Most of the other shoe companies I use: Saucony, Brooks, etc, are about 1/4" longer and fit perfectly. Asics seem to run slightly small at times in my experience. Overall this is a very well constructed, solid shoe that provides good stability.
