The 10th anniversary of the GT-1000 running shoe takes a big step forward in what this model stands for. Designed for the runner with an active lifestyle, they're seeking a lightweight everyday trainer with excellent cushioning. The upper has been reimagined with a new engineered mesh that adjusts to your foot's natural shape while providing a comfortable midfoot hold. With the addition of an integrated support system, this application improves the heel fit and creates a more secure feel. Following a more sustainable design approach, this shoe also uses fewer resources to color the sockliner. Featuring a layer of GEL technology cushioning in the heel to improve shock absorption, the shoe also integrates a FLYTEFOAM midsole material that offers a softer and more supportive feeling at footstrike. Lastly, the DUOMAX support system consists of a firmer density of foam placed on the medial side of the midsole to help reduce the foot's pronounced inward roll (overpronation) while improving stability. Color: white. Age Group: adult.

I regularly purchased ASICS shoes for many years back when I was clocking serious road running miles. Loved them for their comfort and great cushioning. Only downside was the cushioning seemed to wear out faster than some other brands. Switched to New Balance and then Brooks for a while now and have been generally happy with those brands as well. Thought I'd give ASICS another shot, ordered standard width as I always have. They felt a little narrow right out of the box, so gave them a try outside and I still think they're narrow. Not painfully so, but noticeable. Good space in front of the toes. So, I just ordered another pair in Wide to check the difference. Have never ordered Wide shoes before in my life, so we'll see.

I have extremely wide flat feet. So bad that I can't even where Dr. Prescribed Orthotics without extreme pain. I have to wear a shoe that has cushion pronation support. I am on my feet 14 hr a day. I have found that in Asics. This shoe is the best yet, so comfortable and lots of support. Thank you.

This is my first pare of a proper running shoes. Usually I was going with a cheep one as was not into running much as running became more frequent decided to buy good one. I originally wanted to go with OnCloud as saw lots of people running them and very cool design unfortunately or fortunately did not like how they fit, were to tight around my foot bridge. This pare, tried and it fit like a glove instantly. Went for a run next day no chafing or blisters after 10k but the time of the comment ran 100k still feeling great. This shoes are my go to if I know that I have to walk or hike a lot. I think it even helped me to cut at least 10 seconds from my per 1km time this could be subjective.

I’ve only worn these twice and my feet have gotten numb both times after only an hour into walking in them. Also, either they run really small or my foot became huge overnight. I’ve always been a 7 1/2 and I ordered an eight and that didn’t even fit. I had to order an 8 1/2 and it felt fine at first but as I wore them they felt pretty lose around the top part of the foot. I thought this was odd because although my feet are wide the shoes are wide width. The sizing just feels so incredibly off. Pretty disappointed. Would not recommend.
I bought these to replace my old Asics running shoes, which were very durable. The GT-1000 provides great comfort and helps me achieve my running goals. The GT-1000 provides better functionality than my prior running shoes, but the aesthetic appeal is somewhat lacking. Nonetheless, the shoes get the job done well.
As a severe overpronator, there are few shoes that I can wear without injuring myself. Asics GT line has been my go to for decades. All are overpriced but often are on sale. GT 1000 won’t stand up too high mileage but is great for softer use. Most of the ASICS models at Academy are not for overpronators, but the GT line is.
Unfortunately I can't give these shoes more than 1 star. I have had nothing but problems since I bought them. The first 2 weeks or so of wear were fine; however, after that, I developed significant pain in my heels. I returned the pair to the shop, thinking it was the individual pair of shoes (they said that some material had come loose, something that occurs sometimes with the shoes), and got a replacement pair. However, the same problem has occurred with the new pair.I have always bought asics and never had a problem before; however, I doubt if I will buy another pair again.
I bought these as a back-up pair and I'm so happy that I did. The shoes were offered at a great price so I thought that I would try them out. My initial experience left me feeling a little unsure. I decided to try them out just walking around my house in the event that I had to return them. The sole was a different design and was nothing like I had ever felt before. They almost seemed as if there was a little "rod" right at the ball of my foot when I stepped. After wearing them for a short while, I was satisfied enough to commit them to my full 5 mile walk. They were wonderful! The shoes provided support, cushion, and excellent traction. I am very satisfied with these shoes.
I bought these shoes in Pink from Shoe Carnival. EXACT same shoe. LOVE THEM so I thought I better have a normal color so I ordered these black ones. SAME EXACT SHOE in an 8.5...nowhere in the description or size did it say WIDE WIDTH! That was a surprise when they arrived.(I just went back and looked at my order and nowhere did it say WIDE WIDTH). The weird thing, my pink ones are roomier than these black ones. Not sure if my orthotic will fit in these??? I will still keep them.
This is my fourth pair of GT-1000's going back several years. I wear them as everyday shoes.Particular things that I like:1. They come in Wide (4E), which makes my feet happy.2. The black GT-1000's don't attract attention, and I use that excuse to wear them even with "business casual" attire, figuring people maybe won't notice that my running shoes are slightly out of place. (Plus, I don't care if they are slightly out of place. My feet happiness comes first!)
