I have used Asics sneakers for the past 20 years (GT 1000 and GT2000), and these are the WORST I have ever had! They have zero breathability and make your feet BURN. I tried to contact customer service (chat) and the dismissive representative said they don't accept returns based on how the sneaker feels. Man!!!! The most important thing about running shoes is how they feel! Well. Time to look for another brand that cares better for its customers of decades!

I typically buy a Nimbus, or similar high cushioned running shoe. I don't actually run, but i walk a little over 5 miles most days and I'm old, and a little heavy, so I want the shoe to absorb what my old knees shouldn't. I got these to kick around as I thought they had a better look. But, now I'm conflicted. I may prefer these for my daily walking adventures. They feel great and there's no lack of cushion, at least that's what my knees say. ;)

I usually run in GT-2000s but bought two GT-1000s because they were on sale. I have run in 1000s years ago. Unfortunately, these GT-1000s I just bought have a smaller toe box than the 2000's and the 1000's I bought a few years ago. The smaller toe box causes my big toe to get a blister because of crowding. I am a serious distance runner. I have run 62,268 miles over the last 48 years as part of a longevity study. I have run in ASICS since they first were introduced in the United States many years ago. I will continue to buy ASICS 2000s.

My favorite shoe ! Having owned a few pairs my feet, back, and knees love them.Great hot weather shoe, very breathable too.Laces stay tied also.....(I have owned many that do not)Seem to be long lasting as well, using as a work shoe, which involves ,ladder climbing, lots of walking etc...some stomping. Not so good for wet situations as stated very breathable which also equals wet feet in puddles, wet grass etc. But I wear a different shoe for those known situations, snow, cold wet etc. Also they stand behind their product !!!I had a pair fall apart with in a couple months of purchasing, unstitching etc. from the little toe area. (both shoes) I usually don't see my toes poking out for at least 6-9 months depending on my work.It was a slight pain contacting them as any ... MoreMy favorite shoe ! The shoe is super comfortable and I’ve already put about 70 miles on them. I’m still breaking them in, but the heel back seems short, that is, it hits my Achilles tendon lower than my other ASICS. Not a deal breaker but feels awkward. The other thing is, the gel doesn’t go all the way around the shoe but stops midway…at least aesthetically. Other than that, the shoe is lightweight and comfortable. I’d be interested to try the new model and see if it compares. Maybe they will send me some to review. (Size 10). I’ve been running in ASICS ever since high school, can’t seems to be brave enough to switch to a different manufacturer.
I’m rebuilding my body post 4 spine surgeries including fusions with Hardware and at 3.5 years post-op, I Bosu… the rounded side down to work my core & balance cooldown.I need the best grip I can buy!I’m solid on either leg, or both and because I never wear the same pair on consecutive gym days, I own multiple pairs of ASICS running & training shoes. At age 67, with a fixed minimalist “income” and “Disabled,” although I prefer Uniquely Restructured,I no longer bounce like a kid, so I’m about the sole & grip along with construction. That said, I’m also stylish and I won’t wear just anything on this Multi-Million Dollar “Jacked” body!ASICS is my brand of work shoe 2+ hours, 5 days per week because of solid construction, sure-grip soles, varying styles, plus ... MoreI’m rebuilding my body post 4 spine surgeries including fusions with Hardware and at 3.5 years post-op, I Bosu… the rounded side down to work my core & balance cooldown.I need the best grip I can buy!I’m solid on either leg, or both and because I never wear the same pair on consecutive gym days, I own multiple pairs of ASICS running & training shoes. At age 67, with a fixed minimalist “income” and “Disabled,” although I prefer Uniquely Restructured,I no longer bounce like a kid, so I’m about the sole & grip along with construction. That said, I’m also stylish and I won’t wear just anything on this Multi-Million Dollar “Jacked” body!ASICS is my brand of work shoe 2+ hours, 5 days per week because of solid construction, sure-grip soles, varying styles, plus colors matching my gym outerwear.
Love ASICS, this one is the best so far. I’ve worn nothing but ASICS for the past 10 years as they were the only shoe I found that work for my leg issues. I’ve always sided with the sale models or cheaper ones. These shoes will become a new standard for me. I could not be happier with them. On days wear I get 30k steps or just 5k, the comfort and support is there. Great for exercising and great for walking. I imagine that they’d make great running shoes as well.
This is one of the worst fitting pair of shoes I have ever bought. I need shoes with a wide toe-box, and usually order extra-wide for good measure (even though the measuring device says my foot width is normal). I have a really tough time finding shoes that fit comfortably. New Balance M560s were great, but in their infinite wisdom New balance stopped making them.I saw the GT-1000 reviewed as having a wide toe-box, so I bought a pair, with great hope. That hope was dashed the first time i wore them. I ordered a length 1/2 size up, and the X-wide. These shoes are still pretty tight in the toe-box. Even worse, they dug into my heel. After just a mile walking in them to try them out, they had rubbed away the skin on my heels. I had to take them off.Why can't shoe ... MoreThis is one of the worst fitting pair of shoes I have ever bought. This is a great everyday day shoe, I use mostly for work. Provides great support and comfort all day. This was my 2nd purchase, but I thought they were going to be a newer version or updated model. The website showed them to be different. My only dislike with shoe, as well as with every other Asics I've owned, is the shoe laces. If I do not double knot them, these shoes would never stay tied.
Way too soft and unstable. I could not be more disappointed in the changes Asics has made to their running shoe cushioning. It is way too soft, to the point it caused other issues for me, plantar fasciitis as well as knee and hip pain. The cushioning is so soft I feel it makes the stability of the shoe less stable. Asics used to be the shoe that worked for me but they are 0 for 4 recently as this new cushioning material is being used in other shoes I’ve tried and that did not work for me: GT-1000 11, GT-2000 10, and the Gel Kayano 28. I’ve also tried the Gel Kayano Lite 2 which seemed to use a different cushioning, which was better, however I found that shoe too bulky in the heel and my foot felt very supinated in it. It seems some other running shoe manufacturers are experimenting with softer cushioning as Hoka increases in popularity, but what Asics is using now doesn’t work for me. I’ll check back to see if Asics gets back to something that works for me, until then I’ll be using another brand. I will say Asics customer service and return policies have been helpful. Thanks and good luck.
