Since I had a proper foot assessment I have been buying Asic's GT models as they are perfect for my physical foot build and needs. I am using them for casual running on paving and have not be disappointed. I do need a wider shoe - we all do after a certain age and therefore either choose the wider model for women or if they are not available go for the men's model. I like the improvement of the fabric at the toe area as the previous model had mesh which would get you a hole at your big toe if you are a toe tenser. Since this model has a slightly stronger toe area.The GT 1000 is comfortable and supports my feet. I do not have any problems with shin splints or Achilles tendon pain and that is great.

I’m a previous runner and have worn ASICS for over 20 years. The fit, comfort, cushioning are exemplary. I had to stop running for a while and purchased the GT-1000 12 Wide for walking and was putting in over 1500 steps a day with no foot or leg pain. If there is any negative comment it would be with the new colors that are coming out. They are too bright and off colors. I’m older and don’t like the flashy colors but that is me. The ASICS shoe product are great.Rich F

These were recommended by my podiatrist as I have extremely flat feet and was beginning to get chronic tendinitis due to it. I cannot believe how much better my feet feel in these compared to other sneakers (I have tried on cloud, APL, and hokas most recently). These are hands down the comfiest and most practical walking/everyday shoe. I do not run so I cannot speak on that, but for everyday these are THE shoe. I’m obsessed and want more color ways!

For a wide 9.5, these are amazing. I usually go for extra wide New Balance around the $60-80 range and these were on sale so I took a chance. Plenty of stretch without being lose nor causing calluses. One reviewer mentioned not being wide at the toes but for me this was more than fine.The shoe itself feels sturdy and rugged enough for daily wear and long walking. It's a shame I haven't seen this on sale again otherwise I'd grab another pair!
I've purchased 4 pair of GT 1000 and GT 1000 wide shoes over the last 2 years. They have become my go-to training shoe because they are stable and have helped me to prevent calf injuries more than my New Balance 680 shoes did. (I also used 2 pairs of NB 680 for training in the last 2 years.)In my opinion they are best suited for medium distance training as they are a little too heavy for sprint work or intervals and provide too little cushioning for long runs of over 20km. They are durable, however, and have lasted me for 800km each when rotated with other running shoes.All in all, a good cost/performance entry level training/practice shoe which I keep coming back to.
I bought two pairs of GT-1000 12 the ankle support is really great on these. They are a really stable shoe and grip is really good. How ever on both of the pairs i bought the outsole began to peel off right away so had to glue them together. The upper right above where you pinky toe is really thin therfore the durability is not really there.If the price of these were 20 to 10 dollar less i would feel could see these as a viable option. Compared to the vast other running shoes avaliabe i could see these being good light to moderate walking shoe. However i dont see these being long distance shoes or for daily users
Asics changed something in the GT-1000 12. My lower back, hips, legs, knees, and feet tell me this new iteration is 'softer', and less stable. So much so that I'm giving away the two pair I bought. I've worn the GT-1000 for years, and been quite happy with them. I expected the 12 iteration to be more or less the same as the 11, but it was immediately apparent that the 12 didn't provide the same support as the 11. I'm not a small man, but the 11 was, for me, the perfect combination of cushion and stability, as I tend to a mild over-pronation. I tried wearing the 12 long enough for my body to adjust, but it just got worse, and I exceeded the 'return' window. Fortunately, I've found and ordered a couple of 'new, old stock' GT-1000 11 online. C'mon, Asics. The 12 did ... MoreAsics changed something in the GT-1000 12. I just bought these, felt a little bigger than normal. But thought they’d be ok. They were not, my foot was sliding everywhere. I’ve always worn size 6. When I called to see if I could exchange they refused due to “policy”. This is a running shoe. So since I took it for a running test and wore them ONCE I couldn’t exchange them. So disappointing because this newest model def has some sizing issues. I’ve worn ASICS I since I was in MS track so was extremely disappointed. Will no longer be buying them from this website. Your policy on no exchanges is antiquated and out of touch.
I found these after an internet search on ‘comfy shoes for women for walking’. They were number 2, and I had already tried number 1 but found them uncomfortable. So, didn’t hold out much hope but thought, as I wear ASICS for work, that it was worth a shot!Well, I was/am very pleased with the purchase! They were comfortable from the moment I put them on, and I’ve been wearing them ever since - I’m contemplating getting another pair in a different colour.I do a lot of walking, and have pain in my feet from injuries, which these trainers are very accommodating for. And they look good - my super stylish wife approves of them 😎
