I bought this show to use on my mid to long runs as part of a cycle of shoes to use during a phase of a marathon training. These were comfortable straight out of the box and I was able to take them on a 10 mile run, I would say that they have increased in comfort following a breaking in period, I'm now up to 60+ miles and they feel like they have moulded to my foot. I have used them on a few tempo runs and they are comfortable but not particularly lightweight or responsive. They do provide a good level of support due to the light truss and this is definitely more forgiving than the due max of previous models. I found the outsole to be pretty poor in the wet, it offered little grip on hill sessions at pace. Overall I would definitely recommend this shoe for use with ... I am a midfoot striker so "unfortunately" can't comment on the gel heel.

Something changed with this version; I am getting a blister below the joint between the big toe and the 1st Metatarsal on my right foot; just where you would expect a bunion to form. I have worn ASICs GT-2000 family for over 10 years and have never had this problem before. I am using the same size and width, and the same socks. It feels like the ball of my right foot is bottoming out more easily. I know that the insert material is new, so I will try swapping it out with inserts from my old 8s or 9s to see if that makes a difference. Right now I am limited to short runs and am rotating between these 10s and the 9s and 8s hoping the blister will go away. These short 5+ mile runs are only for training; I need a half/marathon shoe and this can only be a trainer for ... I would give the previous two versions 5 stars. These previous versions were an improvement over previous models, feeling lighter, better ventilated, more cushioned, and importantly, it is harder for my big toe to blow through the top of the shoe. This blow-through is usually a cause for shoe retirement, along with just hitting my arbitrary 400 mile limit.

When you are a size 12.5UK it can be tricky finding an Asics shoe that fits correctly. This issue is what drew me to this model initially as its frustrating trying to find a Kayano/Cumulus that works for me as I have to chose between a 12UK and a 13UK and neither size quite work for me.I'm glad I did - because this is a perfect shoe. I have slightly flat and medium to wide feet, it hugs and supports with total comfort. It's not so built up that it looks a little blocky. So I use the GT-2000 10 as my day to day walking/recovery shoe. Couldnt find a better option to do the job.If there was one criticism - ASICS! People like me have size 12.5UK feet and we need your help! Please can you update your stock levels and supply this size across your premium ranges because if you dont people will shop elsewhere. Always very limited supply and colour-way range. What about the Kayano? 12.5UK's dont feature much which is a shame. There I've said my piece.I love this shoe. I have no doubt you will too.

Shoe is light-weight, very comfortable, and the fit is close to "true to size". I wear Men's US size 9 in almost all brands or EU 42. In this shoe, the 8.5 is too tight but the 9 fits perfectly so I will agree that it's true to size. Note in the chart that ASICS calls US 9 equal to EU 42.5.This is more of a neutral fit in the ASICS line and a typical running shoe you would expect from many shoe manufacturers. For example, ASICS higher-end shoe, the Kayano line, has a more curved shape to it at the toe (more tactile), like a rocking motion when you run, but the bottom of the GT 2000 is less curved like a standard running shoe so there will be no surprises. Hopefully this will help someone else in my situation. I'm a size 8.5 woman with wide feet and low arches and I've got bunions. Excellent combination. I opted for these because they were on a few lists of 'running shoes good for bunions' because of the wide toe box. I went for the mens fit for a bit more room and so far so good, they are fitting well. I've only used them walking but plan to get running in them soon. They're super comfortable. Lots of cushion but not too squishy or too firm. To be clear they're not a fix all for bunions but hoping that they'll help.
The laces were too short. I bought two pair before and one pair had 56 inch lashes and one pair 48 inches. I have been given lame eyelet numbers excuses from customer service which is a loss of bunk. I have tried to get the company to be sure and put 56” laces on all Wife and extra wide shoes. This company not only doesn’t listen, they could care less. “I’ll pass your request on to the production department” was the lame response I received. As a wide foot with a narrow heel shoe wearer, the extra eyelet is imperative, but this company ASICS could not care less. If you have wide feet stay away from this brand.
Right out of the box this shoe was simply excellent. Fit was to size, good but not excessive stability, cushioning but also enough firmness to ensure that my foot plant didn't have wasted motion, something that will make me hate a shoe on the first run. I've been running since 1978 and a shoe like this is why and how I continue to put in 4 or 5 mile runs 4 days a week. Of course, the right running shoe for me may not be for you. For a heavier runner (I'm 135 lbs) or for someone who pronates more than I do, this shoe might not have the necessary cushioning or stability. For someone with a rigid, high-arched foot, it may have too much. But if you know yourself and your feet, this shoe can be as good as they come and better than most.
I used the old GT2000 series of the nineties etc until they were replaced by the GT2 and now the the new GT2000 series. Loved the old shoes and they never gave me any problems over many years. These new GT series shoes seem about on a par as you follow the update iterations. Plenty of toe room for my arthritic toes, good arch support and surprisingly comfortable cushioning on a run. Stability is excellent in controlling pronation. The shoe tread seems to have been more aimed at smooth road surfaces but still works OK on off-road work as long as it is not too severe.A good all-round shoe that works well without being over expensive
I bought these shoes last year because I work in the medical field and needed a shoe that could withstand long hours of standing/walking. After a few months of wear I noticed the fabric lining on both heels starting to wear away, creating holes. Over time this only worsened and got to a point where I could no longer wear the shoes because the plastic material was now poking and creating blisters on my heels. At the time, I reached out to ASICS customer service twice informing them of the problem, providing multiple pictures in the correct format of what had happened. On both occasions customer service replied saying that the pictures provided were not in JPG format (they were) and that they could not review my claim. These were the first and now last pairs of ASICS ... MoreI bought these shoes last year because I work in the medical field and needed a shoe that could withstand long hours of standing/walking. I've been wearing Asics footwear for over 10 years, so I'm pretty devoted to the brand. I love the styling and the support they provide for both my walking and running. And since I have plantar fasciitis, I really need excellent arch support and stability.Sadly, I also have wide feet. And as anyone who runs/walks and also has wide feet, you know that footwear manufacturers do NOT cater to this market. Your choices are far and few between. Until recently Asics offered a decent selection of shoes in my size (11 4E). However my last two purchases (Gel-Nimbus 23 and this model, GT-2000 10) are not comfortable right out of the box. They have to be broken-in. Oddly, I didn't have that issue with the Gel-Nimbus 22, so when that model was discontinued, I was hoping that ... Same with this model. So my advice to my fellow wide-feet runners is to break these in with moderate walks and/or a shoe stretcher, because the last thing you want is to commit yourself to a serious run and your little toes feel tight and cramped against the outside of the toe box.
