I have previously owned and ran in ASICS GT 2000’s, this version (12) is very nice.First couple of runs 5 mile each for my feet to get used to them, have been running 10k 3 times a week and find them very comfortable with the right amount of support for me.As with ASICS making regular changes to the GT’s being a negative thing for some people I don’t really have any negative opinions on them, the tongue being without padding and ventilated and the heel tab are definitely positives in my opinion. I half size up as always. My favourite go to mild/moderate running trainer. Very nice.

Previously I used to buy Brooks Ravenna shoes for several years - because they are the best in terms of stability and support for someone with pronation issues.I tried Asics GT-2000 previous years, but they were not making the Extra Wide option in these shoes before. This year, i had the Extra-Wide option in the color that i liked (Black/Black) and hence i bought it. This is the best shoes i have tried and hence I will switch from Brooks brand now to these shoes. Keep this color option and Extra-wide available in future years - because they are lot of old men like me, who want this color and Extra-wide for the support (for walking as well as running).

I’ve only worn ASICS for the past 20 years since I tore my arches in my early 20’s after running a marathon I didn’t train for. I probably buy about 2 pairs a year. These fit different the second I put them on. One of the most comfortable pairs I’ve bought from ASICS. I put about 17k steps a day when I’m at work, and I work 12 hour shifts. And probably not a good thing but I don’t tie my shoes. I wear it loose. But I like this pair so much I got my boyfriend a pair. Definitely will get another pair in another color for my next purchase.

I have been running in the GT-2000 series exclusively since 2015. I pretty much stopped running for the past couple years, but picked it up again about 6 months ago with a new pair of GT-2000 10s. Dealt with some nagging shin issues, and I thought I may have started back too fast so I tried taking a break and coming back very slowly but the same thing happened. Then I thought maybe it was the shoes, and maybe I just needed something with more cushion now. So I went to my local running store to try out a bunch of different shoes and WOW, the GT-2000 has certainly changed. The 12 immediately felt much more cushioned than the 10, but still felt light, and the stability features are much more natural-feeling. The 12 immediately felt much more cushioned than the 10, but still felt light, and the stability features are much more natural-feeling. I never would've thought that I would want a big change to a shoe I had been so loyal to for so long, but the updates have made them even more comfortable and more fun to run in. I've only taken them on a couple runs so far, but they felt great on both an easy run and a tempo run, and my shin issues were non-existent on both. Big fan of the GT-2000 12 and the updates they made.
My therapist recommended this shoes to me after my cancer surgery. I had my bone replaced with rod and a full knee replacement. These shoes gave me the stability I needed to walk and the wide is comfortable on my feet. Only problem is after a few months the toe on the shoe starts to wear. ASICS has replaced two pairs for me but I have had to result to putting a patch inside where the toe is for longer wear. I dont know why this shoe does this. I don’t have long toenails or an oversized toe but for whatever reason the toe wears down and a hole is formed. I really wish they’d make a leather version of this same shoe to last longer. Other than that it gvs me amazing support.
The shoes were horribly on the small side. Uncomfortable isn’t even really a way to describe the shoes. I’m not sure what these new shoe companies that are popping up are trying to achieve but it just doesn’t seem possible with our current means on this planet. Most new shoes are horribly uncomfortable, or are built for specific situations that don’t apply to all people. Whatever happened to good, old, reliable, tennis shoes? Unfortunately, those days are gone and you’re stuck trying to navigate the mass of ‘fancy’ Tennis shoes, Running shoes, Training shoes, etc. etc. etc. Bring back a comfortable shoe for less than $100. We don’t want all the other pizazz.
I've been wearing this shoe model and running 5 miles 4 times per week for years and it's been great. Now they've changed the design and I have instant back, knee, and shin pain. The heel is too thick or high and the shoe forces you to fall forward. I also have foot arch pain due to lack of arch support. They won't accept a return without a label attached?!! How can I test them with a label on? The outcome? Not shopping with Asics again, after years as a loyal customer. Very disappointing for $110, and now I have to find another pair and pay again with a different maker. Sucks.
The GT-2000 12 is a very lightweight and comfortable shoe. I ran in ASICS running shoes back in the 1990’s but haven’t had a pair since then. These shoes are comfortable right out of the box. I wear them as lifestyle shoes and for walking. The fit is good and that is saying something for me. I am normally a New Balance man and wear a size 13 2E or 14 D in many of their lifestyle and running shoes. I ordered the GT-2000 12 shoes in 14 D and they fit fine with enough room in the toe box. I haven’t worn them enough to comment on durability but they appear well made. Just placed an order for two more pairs!
I’ve used ASICS running shoes for years, and really do love them. I actually really like these shoes as well. One little problem…the tongue of the shoe, while soft and comfortable, lays just flat enough that it rubs my ankle when I run and wears my skin raw. I use socks that are just high enough that they show but are just short enough that the tongue touches my skin.I’ve had several versions of the GT-2000s and this is the first time this has happened. Still love the shoe though. I’ve resorted to putting a bandaid on that spot to prevent further rubbing.
I tried this shoe on in-store. Admittedly, I prefer a wide or extra-wide width which are not available yet. I own three pairs of GT-2000 10(s) wide, my favorite shoe ever! Also, I have one GT-2000 11 wide. The changes made from 10 to 11 didn’t make the shoe any better, and although not as good as the 10, I still purchased a pair and am satisfied. The version 12 is another story altogether! Although the 8mm heel to toe drop is the same, the 12’s heel height increased 10mm and the toe section feels much higher also. Basically, the extra heights makes the sneaker less stable feeling compared to the 10 and 11. Also, the heel and mid-sole gel cushioning feels significantly stiffer and less plush (non-gel like feeling, which is why most people purchase ASICS in the first ... MoreI tried this shoe on in-store. Definite thumbs down for the GT-2000 12 overhaul.
