I took this shoe straight out the box and on an 8 mile interval session……they were superb! No rubbing or hot spots, they were super bouncy, comfortable and light. Needless to say I hit all my target paces and some in the Magic Speed.I have them in the Sky/Midnight colour way which is gorgeous. The carbon plate makes this a great race shoe or training shoe for those faster sessions. I would highly recommend!!

At the point that I bought the magic speed 2’s I had watched so many reviews that I was becoming disillusioned, however I decided to go with the MS2 as I am familiar with ASICS, I am definitely not disappointed the shoes are great! Yes they are stiff, and the cushioning is slightly harder, but it definitely does have a level of cushioning. They are fast though, they are also very comfortable and feel very stable. I would recommend these shoes if you want a fast shoe but at a more affordable price point

These are great neutral trainers and racers. Light and form fitting upper, easy to get good lockdown with the laces, feels like a shoe you want to go fast in. Toe box is plenty roomy and fits well. The forward propulsion from the plate and rocker is very apparent and awesome, I find these shoes to help me run downhill with less perceived effort versus shoes without a plate. It really is a funny feeling, the shoe provides a great pop when hitting those downhills hard.I've run two half marathons in these and these are perfect for that distance. You could easily run marathon distance in these as well. They are cushioned, but not mushy, and encourage you to keep the pace up.That being said I've taken these out on easy recovery days and they perform just as well as ... MoreThese are great neutral trainers and racers. I really liked the 1st version of the Magic Speeds, and the updates make this shoe only better. Still the responsive ride, but with a better upper. The previous model would dig into my achilles, but now there's a nice soft fabric there. Looking forward to workouts in these!
I use the Magic Speed 2 on my speedwork mostly, and have also raced in them up to 10k.These are for sure fast, and you can really pick up the pace in them. I can't really complain on them, but if it's something I miss, then it's that extra bounce. These shoes will pivot you forward and are a perfect race shoe. The kinda stiff sole are perfect for races, but personally I like a bit more of support as I am a heavier runner. It's a lot about flavor and taste off course, but personally I prefer the likes of Metaspeed Sky+, where you get a little more bounce and support. Especially if you are going for longer runs or races.With that said, this shoe has great value and are a very good option in the price range. :)

An excellent, versatile shoe that is perfect for tempo and base runs; it also has enough going on that it can lend itself to interval and speed sessions as well. It is a viable option for some short to middle distance races as well (5k, 10k, 12k, 10 mile, etc.). A great improvement on the original Magic Speed, which ran a firmer and without quite as much cushion, these shoes are also a great value for carbon plated performers.
I bought wide version about two months ago to train for meta speed sky. I found the mid sole is hard when holding it and it’s more solid when wear it. However, there is no compromise on cushioning at all. It helps me to correct myself and run more. It’s still a luxury to wear meta speed sky but this one does the job right. A very useful training shoes. And quality is satisfied.
