A huge step down compared to last year's model

They also removed the loop on the heel to help getting the back of the shoe up, so now the heel keeps foldering down when I slide them on (thinner material all around). The last noticable difference is with the sole. It is still a thick gel sole, which is the only reason it gets 3 stars instead of 1, but they made it skinnier at the base where before it extended out a bit adding to stability of the foot. It's not that big of a deal, but compared to the 2023 model this skinnier base causes foot fatigue faster. All in all, it's a pretty big disappointment compared to last year's version.

Disappointed in quality decline of running shoe.

I have been buying Asics Running shoes for 35 years. The quality of this shoe is dramatically less than previous versions. The stripes on the side are basically bad digital pixelated printing vs. actual sewn on material. The quality is so bad that I had assumed I had been scammed. It appears this is really how the shoes are being made. Super disappointed. I gave it 2 stars vs. 1 star as it still feels comfortable.

Fits my feet perfectly, is very light weight and extremely comfortable.

I normally have difficulty in getting the right shoes, as my feet are quite broad at front. For years I have had to make do with ill fitting shoes, that made any kind of work out a chore. My son recommended that I buy ASICS and hence I went online and made the order. My purchase arrived in 3 days! That was super quick, especially since I live in regional Victoria. Once I tried my shoes on, all my worries disappeared, as they fit my feet perfectly, are very light weight and very comfortable.

Good light every day trainer
1 May 2024

I'm a 76 year old runner so I appreciate a good shoe. The Cumulus 26 is pretty darn good. The first thing I noticed was that it is lighter than the Cumulus 24s that I was previously running in. After some use i notice that the heel strike is a bit further forward than I get in other shoes. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not but I like the shoe so far. The only improvement I would suggest is the addition of a heel tab to make putting them on easier. I have that on my Nimbus shoes and I really like it.

Great Shoe, GOOD LUCK RETURNING IF FIT ISN’T RIGHT
30 June 2024

Great Shoe, needed to go up half a size to really get the correct fit. Check their website, says I can return gently used footwear for store credit. Right there ON THE RETURNS PAGE. I’ve gone for TWO runs and my toe was touching the front of the shoe on the downhills. I’m thinking, Perfect, I’ll go to the outlet near me and switch it for half a size up. The outlet manager says my shoes are, and I quote, “road-tested” and not “gently used” and I cannot return them for any credit because “[he] can’t resell them.” Despite showing him the return policy, which says none of this, I leave there with my too small shoes and a strong sense of disappointment.Oh, but it gets better. I then call the customer service number to confirm that this is indeed the policy and the rep informs me that even gently used footwear, if ever actually worn, is not eligible for return or credit of any sort. When directed to THEIR OWN WEBSITE’S RETURN PAGE, the rep continued to say that not only were my shoes not returnable, he couldn’t even find the passage that stated that gently used footwear wear returnable for store credit if returned within 30 days of purchase to an ASICS brick and mortar.https://www.asics.com/us/en-us/customer-service/return-policy/It’s paragraph 6 under full returns policy.Regardless of the shoe fit, this pathetic display of customer service is disappointing, as ASICS has a long record of being supportive of the run community and health initiatives. The fact that I cannot try a shoe and return it after only two short runs is counter to what ASICS used to stand for. I recognize that a multi-national corporation would derive only the smallest iota of financial benefit from my patronage, but they will no longer, as apparently the direction ASICS is going is away from the average runner.Caveat Emptor. Find a company that cares about keeping you as a customer.

If you like the Cumulus 25's don't buy these.
18 March 2024

I purchased these on pre-order hoping to really love them, because I love the Cumulus 25s. Unfortunately, I didn't. So, if you love the Cumulus 25s and were hoping these would be better (like me), unfortunately you'll probably be let down. The toe is much more narrow and to me they were not as soft and bouncy as they are described. I was hoping to use them for race day and ended up sticking with my 25s instead. It's also disappointing that ASICS does not have a return policy for used shoes even though they sell "road tested" shoes - despite them saying that they want us to be "completely satisfied with our purchase" especially when brands like Nike and Hoka offer these policies.

Not serious running shoes
4 September 2024

These are not serious running shoes; they are ASICS's attempt to keep up with HOKA garbage. I'm a long time GT-2000 purchaser, and got tired of Black and Grey being the only options in my size, so I bought the GEL-CUMULUSs 26 because of the lovely color options. I've run on them for a month now and again am shocked at how spongy they are - not for serious runners. I'm back to the GT-2000 and hoping for better color options there.

Width problem
19 April 2024

I’m 68 years old and somewhat overweight, but I enjoy walking 4-5 miles every day. This is a good, well made shoe, just not for my particular foot problem. The shoe aggravates a sensitive area on the outside of my left foot. I can only walk about 1.5 miles before the pain becomes unbearable. I understand this is a difficult medical issue to resolve and, so far, I’ve only found one shoe that works well enough for me to meet my walking goals. Unfortunately, this shoe isn’t it.

[Rewarded Review] Plush, light, responsive: love this shoe

This is my 5th pair of Gel-Cumulus in 15 years… Yes, I’m a huge fan of the Gel-Cumulus and this is by far the best version I’ve tried. Already over 130km clocked in and still loving them as much. They look bulkier than the previous versions but, once they are on your feet you don’t feel them. Appreciate the fact that no break in was required at all (wasn’t the case with other Gel-Cumulus in the past). Intense feeling of comfort with plush padding and an extra padded tongue. Feels like sliding into comfy slippers. Snug feeling and feet don’t move. The nice surprise is how responsive they are when you want to accelerate even at the end of a long run. They tend to dry quickly after a run in the rain (I live in Ireland). I’ll be using them for easy 5-10km runs, recovery runs and long runs. I would recommend the Gel-Cumulus 26 for all distances including marathons. Rule of thumb, I always go for one size above my normal shoe size to allow my feet to swell. Never had a single blister in 15 years. To conclude, this shoe is a solid daily trainer now with a “rockered” smooth ride.

Best running brand, they will take care in there shoes. And you see the effort they put in to making these fantastic running shoes. You really do get what you pay for. Asics now has a new customer and a happy one. The main issue I was having was fatigue in my legs and cramps under my feet after doing a long run. So I brought these and I've not had any issues like that since, the cushion is fantastic and just what you need what doing 10k or Half marathon. Because it's about endurance not speed. So far they have performed brilliantly. Asics really know what there doing. Some people might look at the price and think....oh it's alot, but trust me it's worth it.
