A Superb Incredible Comfortable Sensible runner

They have trained for marathons and ran marathons at decent times (just over three hours). Despite the mileage clocked up on them, they still look good when it’s time for their retirement. Have highly recommended these runners to others who over pronate. For those who don’t know if they have a neutral gait or over pronate, it’s a great idea to get checked (most sports stores have machines for this) and then wear the right runner for you because it will help towards your joints staying healthier for longer. ASICS the best trainers on the market

The ASICS Gel Kayan 28 is, in my opinion the best trainers for running and or walking there is on the market. It is light, well padded and ASICS gel technology gives added support and supreme comfort.Overall, it is my personal opinion that ASICS trainers are the best on the market. I have eight pairs of ASICS trainers and I have just bought a Gel Kayan 28 for my wife. She hasn’t stopped wearing since the arrived two weeks ago.I would encourage everyone to try ASICS trainers. You will find it hard to swap them for any other trainers

Ordered as have an older pair qnd very comfy for lots of walking. As size 9.5 always had mens shoes as ladies not available in that size. On receiving shoes as same size as previous wore them then noticed that they were gender engineered. Checked website and now see ladies specific shoes available now in larger sizes. My error. Too late to return as shoes now worn. Great design and style however definitely not as comfy as previous pair- has the fitting changed ? Will order ladies specific shoes next time .

GEL-KAYANO 28 - critical opinion
25 April 2023

Used to have older version of Kayanos (bought around 2012-2013), loved them! Lasted 10 years but recently outer developed few rips and I foolishly decided to replace with newer version. Now I wish I had the old ones patched up. ( BTW I Managed to re-glue the sole of my SO older Kayanos and she is still using them and prefers over any newer shoes!)The sole of my old Kayano was undestructable while the shoe provided great support and stability. Overall, best shoes I have ever owned! Should have bought 2 pairs. My new Kayano's (28) seem lighter and not so durable. They too provide good stability and cushioning, however, when fully laced up, there is space between eylets and the tounge of the shoe, where my foot is uncovered and unprotected. They too provide good stability and cushioning, however, when fully laced up, there is space between eylets and the tounge of the shoe, where my foot is uncovered and unprotected. I have to double check that the tounge is as flat as possible to cover my foot.I bought exactly the same size and width as the last time, yet its upper is completely different. How come there is space between upper and the tounge? Pics taken without socks so not as visible as when with socks. They also feel like designed to last one season. I only bought them about a month ago, and to me they already look beat up (after 6 x 2 hour outside walking sessions), while GEL-CUMULUS 23 G-TX (4months), GEL-KAYANO 25 OBI (2years4months), Trabuco Max (1 year) and GEL-QUANTUM INFINITY(3yr4months) all look like new.I would return them if I could and go for non-goretex Cumulus instead, the sole feels indestructable and my foot is properly protected in my Cumulus-G-TX's, however, these are too worm on hot days.Altogether I have 7 pairs of (casual & training) shoes, various Asics (6) and one pair of indestructible trail running Salomons, and I feel like I will be looking elsewhere for my next trainers. I will not be paying for so poorly designed yet highly priced product.Feels like overengineered or, worst, sales/data analysis people got to determine durability and quality on new models.Asics, durability was your strong point, without it, you will not be worth the price.

GEL-KAYANO 28 BLACK SHOES
18 May 2023

Great Shoes. Very comfortable and superb support. A bit slow delivery and no paperwork included with the delivery in case of return. Also my 10 % Off the first online order was not applied. I signed as a new customer and 3 minutes later I placed an order from the same account, but 10% Off did not go yrough. But other than that great product at great price. Value for money. Will be better if Asics also offer Black Wide shoes ( not just ordinary, which are a bit narrow for some people ). Thanks. I will buy again from Asics

Heels feel like they are falling out; rude and inc
24 April 2023

Heels feel like they are falling out; rude and incompetent Asics sales info telephone agents who told me to look up width in centimetre info myself. Asics stores can't tell me the width in cm either on the phone. So I had to return so many sizes.I had very good experience with Kayano in the past, but this version of Kayano was completely uncomfortable. The width is so narrow that I had to buy 3cm longer than my true length, to try again. The shoes feel not cushioned in general, and the heels felt like they were falling out of the shoes.

Injury free with GEL-KAYANO!
8 August 2022

This is my third pair of GEL-KAYANO and I'm very happy with the performance of these wonderful shoes. They have helped me successfully recover from plantar fasciitis and have improved my overall running performance. After many years struggling with running injuries using other brand and models, I am now completely injury free and I'm convinced that my choice to start using GEL-KAYANO plays a big part in this. They are very stable and helps with my pronation of my left leg, at the same time they have excellent cushioning which I think mitigates impact in my hip and have alleviated the hip pain I have been suffering from for over 15 years. Being injury free and able to go for runs regularly over a long period of time I have improved my average speed from around 6:00 ... MoreThis is my third pair of GEL-KAYANO and I'm very happy with the performance of these wonderful shoes. Also I’m now able to run longer distances from being limited to 5 km to now covering a distance of 20 km without any problems. These shoes cost a bit more than other models, but they are worth every penny. For me injury free running is priceless!

Kayano is a Great Shoe
19 January 2023

I have been purchasing this show for many years now. Every time I get a new pair, it’s like putting on a shoe that I’ve been wearing for the last year. It fits perfectly and is very comfortable. The only thing that has changed with this particular shoe is the sole. The new tread is very noisy in comparison to the previous tread. Still my favorite shoe. The new tread is the only reason for a 4 star rating. If not for this noisy tread, it would have received a 5 star rating.

Perfect for my needs
1 November 2023

This is my first pair. I wear a size 7 but followed the advice and ordered a size up to a 8. They fit perfectly and I love the fact they don’t rub against my heel since the first time I put them on. I also like that I can remove the insert and put my orthotic inserts in and they feel great on. I’ve tried Hoka, saucony, and brooks but none compare to the ASICS as far a fit, feel, comfort, support, and light weight. I have plantar fasciitis and needed a neutral & supportive walking shoe. Although I can’t run due to arthritis in the knees I have to walk only for other reasons. Definitely worth the price and I prefer this edition versus the latest edition out Now by Ascics.

Superb Shoe
4 October 2021

OK, I've been wearing my Gel-Kayano 28s for about 2 months, having replaced the shoe's previous incarnation the Gel-Kayano 27. Good as was the Gel-Kayano 27, (and it was good!) this shoe is one hell of an improvement -- particularly if your feet happen to pronate (and boy, do mine pronate!).For me, the two biggest improvements are the toe box and the rear foot or heel support. One thing that gave rise to complaints with the Kayano 27 was that the toe box didn't hold its shape, that it collapsed or crinkled. That was also the case with my own two pairs. Within a few weeks the front of the shoes looked misshapen. Not so with the Kayano 28. Within a few weeks the front of the shoes looked misshapen. Not so with the Kayano 28. After two months of power walking (this 70 year-old does marathons) and daily wear the sturdy toe box has held its shape very nicely. So kudos to the designers for having sorted out that particular problem. Now for the rear foot support: for me that's been a game changer. The improvement has been such that I've been able to dispense with my ankle supports which I wore for years in order to prevent recurring tendinitis. That's been quite liberating and a testimony to the thought that's been put into the design of the shoe.Is there a negative? Well, yes. Nothing is completely perfect. And, here, my sense is is that compared to the Kayano 27s, the Kayano 28 has a little less of that wear resistant rubber in the area of the outside heel (which typically is where my shoes wear out fairly rapidly due to the severity of my pronation) and this seems to have caused the shoe to wear out a little faster. Notwithstanding, I still give this shoe 5 stars. I may have to purchase the shoe more frequently, but the benefits so outweigh this negative that it will remain my go-to shoe -- both for training and for everyday wear. Yes, in my opinion the shoe also looks real nice: good enough for daily casual wear. Well done Asics.
