ASICS Ruined a great shoe. Not a durable shoe!
17 April 2024Disappointed in Denver

I have been a huge fan of the Nimbus for 20 + years. They were always a reliable and durable shoe that provided exceptional comfort and performance. The 26 is a big departure from the norm. I have less than 200 miles on them and sole is worn off. The steps they took to shave weight and lower the environmental impact of the shoe have ruined an otherwise great product. Older model Nimbus shoes held up for 400-500 miles. I have already ordered replacements at 200 miles. If I have to buy 4-5 pairs a year to do what 2 pairs used to that seems to defeat the purpose of reducing the environmental footprint.PLEASE reconsider the prior durability in your next incarnation of the Nimbus.

I really love this line and the 25/26 have really elevated the shoe. For the 26, they improved traction which was sorely needed from the 25. They also improved the breathability of the upper. The only glaring issue is the tag on the tongue. It has rough edges and if you don’t have the right socks to protect you, it can get really uncomfortable quickly. If they removed that or changed it to something more comfortable, it would literally be one of the most perfect shoes ever. Hoping the 27 can fix that. Also, if you see any reviews saying that this shoe if slightly firmer than the 25… I personally don’t see it. What I think is happening, is that people are remembering the last time they wore their 25 that’s already been broken in and then they get a fresh 25 that ... MoreI really love this line and the 25/26 have really elevated the shoe. I can assure you after a few wears the 26 is just as soft as the 25. Don’t let that discourage you and the traction is probably the best part of this update.

Wore the shoe causally for less than 2 months and, even though the shoe fits fine, developed a hole near the toe. Dick’s advised to return to ASICS. ASICS said it is not a manufacturing defect so warranty does not cover it and they thanked us for our brand loyalty. Never again! Spent $170 of this shoe and it does not last two months and ASICS and Dick’s are fine with that.“ASICS has determined this product is not defective and the damage to the shoe is not a result of, or caused by, the materials used in the manufacturing of the product or an error in the manufacturing process and is a result of normal wear and tear. We appreciate your loyalty to ASICS and thank you for reaching out to us.“

I definately would buy these shoes again.
3 July 2024

When I first tried these Asics Gel-Nimbus 26 they felt like a part of my foot. The fit was perfect and so comfortable. Today is the first day I ran in them and I was very impressed with the smooth and comfy ride. The only negative is the original inserts in ALL running shoes are so cheap. The consumer pays a lot of money for a good pair of running shoes and these companies should include a better grade of inserts.

Nightmare on the feet
24 July 2024

Putting this review here since the ASICS website likes to delete the one star reviews. I had a great experience with Brooks running shoes but wanted to try something new. The Asics store in Chelsea, NYC offered an in store foot evaluation program which they measured and scanned your feet and helped picked out your shoe and size due to how you walk and run. So I ended up with the Nimbus (also encouraged by the amount of great reviews on this the ASICS website). After buying the shoe, upon my first run (only made a half mile and then unable to proceed) I experienced a good amount of foot pain in my fore foot, on top of that the pull tab/loop on the back heel rubs against your back heel so you get a good amount of abrasion - this results in bloody heels if you wear ... MorePutting this review here since the ASICS website likes to delete the one star reviews. On top of that, the shoes bulky and felt it took a great deal on my knees which my previous Brooks running shoes did not. This was basically a nightmare on the feet. So I went back to the ASICS store to try to return or exchange it for another model and they said if I wear it once then it is not Returnable/exchangeable. So how else are you suppose to know that they are the right fit for your feet or not? This was my first and last experience with ASICS as I found out that they do not back up their products - unlike Brooks which they give you 90 days to try their shoes and you can return them for any reason. I then also noticed a ton of other people who tried to return their new ASICS products was was not able to do so either as per google reviews from their store (shame on me for not reading those prior). This is a terrible brand to do business with and I will never do so again, you have been warned!

Seriously, get this shoe!
8 April 2024

I'm new to running and the Gel Nimbus 26 is my first real performance running shoe and I could not be happier! I didn't know that to expect from a shoe of this caliber and I can say it is completely worth the price I paid for them. As a heavier runner, the cushion provided is perfect for me for training and recovery runs and leaves my feet, knees, and hips with a noticeably less fatigued feeling compared to the other shoes I was running in before these. I love the heel cushioning and the gel construction is perfect for this. I also love this shoe because as I grow as a runner, I'm not out growing this shoe as I improve, and as a matter of fact, I feel like the better I get at running, the better the shoe is! The midsole cushion and easy transition from heel to toe motion is excellent, especially as a beginner when my running form is still a work in progress. I could go on and on all day about what an amazing shoe this is and what an impact on my quality of running and even everyday comfort level, and I am going to be recommending this shoe to literally everyone who asks! The fit is true to size and has a narrow appearance, but still has plenty of room in the toe box. The knit upper is breathable, stretchy, and feels great with an almost sock like feel to it. The new outsole has plenty of grip in wet weather, as well as gravel like paths. One of my favorite features is the integrated tongue that stays put, and the heel cup with cushion and great material usage that will not rub or create any friction points. 10/10 would recommend this shoe to literally anyone and everyone! If I could have one pair of shoes for the rest of my life, it would be the Gel Nimbus 26 hands down, and I can't wait to get one in every color!

Very comfortable, but not very sturdy for longterm
21 October 2024

The shoe is very comfortable, which is great. But they're also very flimsy. I ran for a couple of days on a treadmill, and they have a small tear in the sole. I reached out to the customer support, and they said that this shoe is supposed to be soft, and I should buy another model with a sturdier heel for running. Which is crazy because these are advertised as running shoes!

[Rewarded Review] Good all-purpose runner
9 July 2024

I am a heavier runner, but have run many ultras, marathons, half marathons, etc. I have put in well over 15,000 miles over the years. I tried the Gel Nimbus because I was coming back from an injury that prevented me from running for a year and I needed a good neutral shoe with sufficient cushion. This fits the bill for me. I am a mid-foot striker and the cushion makes landing smooth, even at 225 lbs. I have been weight training exclusively for a year and have put on quite a bit of muscle, so until I get back down to a racing weight these shoes will be my daily runners. They are very breathable. The upper is flexible and molds to the foot well. I can see these being a great middle-long distance shoe for anyone.

Wanted to find a shoe with decent arch support as I have a high arch and also recently had spinal fusion surgery. Purchase the this shoe about a month ago - so far so good. Only gave it a four stars because I know there can be a more comfortable shoe out there. This shoe is comfortable but it does feel like it will wear down as I begin to walk more and more. I am 6 ft 2 and about 210 lb. I bought these shoes because of a 20% off coupon without that I may have gone for a pair of Brooks. As many reviews have stated no need to buy the most current version of a shoe just buy the next lower version and save some money.

[Rewarded Review] The best shoes I ever bought
8 May 2024

I tried on at least 20 shoes. I didn't want to try these on because the last pair I bought with this brand were horrible. I gave the shoes away.So I tried them on and it was the best pair of shoes out of all of them. I couldn't believe it. They are so comfortable, I am on my feet all day long and I desperately needed a pair of good shoes. My feet were hurting daily. My salesman name was Gabriel and he was very patient, kind, thoughtful, extremely helpful and all around wonderful. He deserves praise for all he did for me. Thank you again Gabriel.I was on my way home and I stopped in at the Tanger Outlet in Pooler Ga. It was the best decision I made that day.
