Blistering on side of ball of foot.
11 August 2022

Something changed with this version; I am getting a blister below the joint between the big toe and the 1st Metatarsal on my right foot; just where you would expect a bunion to form. I have worn ASICs GT-2000 family for over 10 years and have never had this problem before. I am using the same size and width, and the same socks. It feels like the ball of my right foot is bottoming out more easily. I know that the insert material is new, so I will try swapping it out with inserts from my old 8s or 9s to see if that makes a difference. Right now I am limited to short runs and am rotating between these 10s and the 9s and 8s hoping the blister will go away. These short 5+ mile runs are only for training; I need a half/marathon shoe and this can only be a trainer for ... MoreSomething changed with this version; I am getting a blister below the joint between the big toe and the 1st Metatarsal on my right foot; just where you would expect a bunion to form. I would give the previous two versions 5 stars. These previous versions were an improvement over previous models, feeling lighter, better ventilated, more cushioned, and importantly, it is harder for my big toe to blow through the top of the shoe. This blow-through is usually a cause for shoe retirement, along with just hitting my arbitrary 400 mile limit.

I have owned Asics for over 10 years. They have always been great. In March 2023 I bought a pair of walking shoes. The left one had an issue with the heel padding after 2 weeks and only wearing them a few times. I called customer service where they immediately denied my claim as abuse to the shoe. They didnt even ask for a pic and didnt see the shoe. Im not sure what abuse I could have done that rapidly that didnt impact any of the previous pairs I bought. I had to push for them to review my claim and they then said I was out of the warranty period. When I questioned this, they went back to the abuse claim. After looking into it, I found many others posting issues with Asics heel padding and Asics denying their claim.

Good for bunions...

Hopefully this will help someone else in my situation. I'm a size 8.5 woman with wide feet and low arches and I've got bunions. Excellent combination. I opted for these because they were on a few lists of 'running shoes good for bunions' because of the wide toe box. I went for the mens fit for a bit more room and so far so good, they are fitting well. I've only used them walking but plan to get running in them soon. They're super comfortable. Lots of cushion but not too squishy or too firm. To be clear they're not a fix all for bunions but hoping that they'll help.

Good multi use trainer
24 January 2024

Quality product, I use for multiple gym.events. I got the wide, because, well obviously, I've wide feet. I'd usually go for the nimbus, but I'm not 100% taken on the new sole, i couldn't justify the cost of the nimbus and the 2000's were on sale. I have to say these ones fit better than any other trainer I've had. I use it as a multiuse trainer. It may not be suitable for some of my workout but so far has been fine.

Great running shoes for Wide feet
5 December 2022

This is a great shoe for flat fleet (which inherently implies wide feet). There is more arch support vs non-stability shoes. The cushioning soft but bouncy. I feel I jump the highest in these shoes (vs for example Nike Pegasus 32 size 9.5, Saucony Guide 13 wide size 9). I also have a pair of ASICS GT-2000 GTX size 9.5 normal width shoes but it's a tighter fit in the width, so I don't like wearing thick socks. In the size 9 Wide, there is more room for the width my feet when my feet are fully inserted in the shoes. The size9 wide I have to adjust the laces much more to slide my feet into the shoes.

Like Son, Like Father

I actually bought these for my son--Here's why. I was complaining to my son that as I got older my feet got wider and that I couldn't find a comfortable pair of athletic shoes. He told me about his Asics GT-20000 10 4E (Extra Wide) and let me try them on. They were incredibly comfortable but a bit too wide so I bought the GT-2000 10 2E for myself. Hands down, the most comfortable pair of athletic shoes I ever owned! So, I bought my son a new pair of GT-2000 10 4E shoes as a thank you gift.

Shirt Laces Wife Shoes

The laces were too short. I bought two pair before and one pair had 56 inch lashes and one pair 48 inches. I have been given lame eyelet numbers excuses from customer service which is a loss of bunk. I have tried to get the company to be sure and put 56” laces on all Wife and extra wide shoes. This company not only doesn’t listen, they could care less. “I’ll pass your request on to the production department” was the lame response I received. As a wide foot with a narrow heel shoe wearer, the extra eyelet is imperative, but this company ASICS could not care less. If you have wide feet stay away from this brand.

Still one of the best
8 November 2022

Right out of the box this shoe was simply excellent. Fit was to size, good but not excessive stability, cushioning but also enough firmness to ensure that my foot plant didn't have wasted motion, something that will make me hate a shoe on the first run. I've been running since 1978 and a shoe like this is why and how I continue to put in 4 or 5 mile runs 4 days a week. Of course, the right running shoe for me may not be for you. For a heavier runner (I'm 135 lbs) or for someone who pronates more than I do, this shoe might not have the necessary cushioning or stability. For someone with a rigid, high-arched foot, it may have too much. But if you know yourself and your feet, this shoe can be as good as they come and better than most.

Super comfortable
17 September 2024

I was a bit worried ordering a running shoes online without trying them first. It turned out they fit perfectly and are very comfortable. I have rather flat and wide feet so the wide option was a good choice. I also use my own shoe inserts because of my feet pronation and they fit nicely in these shoes as well. I do not run long distances, usually it's 5K evening run.

The Podiatrist was right.

That's better. The cushioning and support these shoes provide is outstanding. First things I noticed was how they make you stand up straight correctly and almost make you leap forward when walking. The ankle correction is wonderful. No more rolling! The 2E (extra wide) is such a relief from the usual standard fit. Best running shoe I've ever had. Podiatrist recommended.
