These definitely make it easy to get great toe-off and turnover when you really pick up the pace—you’ll feel fast—but it won’t fight you if you run slower. You may not quite feel like you’re getting an assist at a slower pace, but you are. The Sky+ may give that feeling more for slower or lower cadence runners: I’m going to find out by getting a pair because of how much I liked the Edge+. Gonna find out if I prefer turnover vs bounciness, cadence vs stride.I’d say these run true to size. I wear men’s 7 shoes, 7.5 for running, but bought 8s because of various reviews saying they run a bit small. The 8s are a tad big, but workable with runner’s loop lacing. 7.5s would’ve been perfect.

As a runner with more of a stride speed style (Metaspeed Sky+ recommended for that), I like the edge because the curvature feels like it forces me into smaller, more frequent strides. This is helping me develop a faster pace. If I try to long-stride take off, it's harder to do in these shoes because of that curvature so I really focus on pace vs. longer strides when I run faster. Currently using these as a practice shoe twice a week and will consider using this or the Sky+ in future half marathon or marathon. For comfort and lightweight feel, these shoes are definitely impressive as a 200lb runner. Color pattern and tangibles are solid thus far.

I swear by MetaSpeed Sky, and in additional I am very high cadance runner. That's why I though that MetaSpeed Edge would have even more impact on both my speed and my endurance. The shoe didn't disappoint - it delivers everything that MetaSpeed Sky did. However, I was expecting it would deliver more for me, given its built for cadance runners ( my cadance is 180 on easy runs, and over 200 on hard ones). But I didn't see any difference to MetaSpeed Sky in this respect. Otherwise, it feels slightly lighter and less bouncier than Sky.

After a long wait, I finally got a pair because it was out of stock on the ASICS website. Before purchasing, I watched some videos on Youtube to get to know METASPEED EDGE+ better. I purchased a pair of Kayano 24 years ago and loved the pair a lot. It's just about time to replace the Kayano 24.I don't go for a run often, but running is part of my job description, and I wouldn't say I like running with heavy running shoes. I tried it out earlier this afternoon when I went to do the beep test. When I got this pair, it surprised me how light they weighed. The support and stability were good during the warm-ups when I just ran slowly, and it got better when I got into the beep test. The support and stability were good during the warm-ups when I just ran slowly, and it got better when I got into the beep test. I ran on a concrete surface and felt better about my knees and feet, as it caused less pain and fatigue after running. I also felt like it helped me conserve more energy and could go further (a few more laps) with my training, which was excellent, and I absolutely loved that. I cannot wait to wear the pair for my weekly 5K run, and I believe the experience will be as great as, if not better, than the beep test experience.Regarding sizing and fit, I got US Men's size 9/42.5 for Kayano 24 and based on the True Fit recommendation. I went with US Men's size 9.5/43.5. I'm glad I followed the recommendation as the pair fitted me brilliantly.I only regret that I didn't buy one more pair while it was in stock.
I received my Metaspeed with great excitement. I am not a great runner averaging about 9 min/miling, and I do have an issue which is Hallux Rigidus (stiffening of the big toe), which means I run in Carbon plated shoes for medical reasons not to be an elite. So finding comfy shoes is an absolute nightmare.I have loved Asics since I don't know when, so when the Metaspeed came out I was super excited, however, I owned a pair of Nike VaporFlies, and New Balance FuelCell. So I didnt really need the first model of Metaspeed. Now both my shoes are old, I was able to get a pair of Metaspeed, only to find out there was a + version.I put them on, and within minutes my big toes were being forced up causing pain and discomfort. Sadly there was no way I could run in these. However, I so wish I could. The upper felt amazing, the bounce amazing, no high arches, stable, and I imagine great for triathlon transition. It just felt a great shoe.So my advice if you are keen to run in the metaspeed and you have HR like me, then go for the original Metaspeed. Which I did, and I absolutely love them. To me they have all the same as the new shoe, but just not the extreme curve at the end forcing your big toe up.
I was really happy with the Metaspeed Sky last year, but reviews I read indicated that I might be interested in the Edge+ for this iteration so I gave them a shot. They fit true to size.I've only got about 20 miles in them so far over 2 different workouts, the first 4-5 miles they felt pretty stiff and not super responsive but by the end of the first workout and for the entirety of the second workout they felt great. Turnover felt smooth, transitions were silky with a nice responsive feel, and the cushion came alive. My biggest grievance has been I've been unable to keep the laces tied without double knotting. Obviously not the biggest problem in the world, and I can certainly double knot easy enough, but I've had these come untied 4 times in ~20 miles while I ... MoreI was really happy with the Metaspeed Sky last year, but reviews I read indicated that I might be interested in the Edge+ for this iteration so I gave them a shot. First pair of carbon plated shoes. I used them for my half marathon, and they were comfortable throughout. No hot or achy spots. I really like the wider toebox on these. They are also a very light weight so throughout my half marathon, I felt speedy in these. It was hard for me to decide whether I was more of a cadence vs stride runner, so I just went with the Edge+ according to my Coros data. Overall, these are a fun pair of shoes, and I can't wait to use them in future races!
I started running again just over 8 months ago, I was running on another brands shoes, I was happy enough with them, however I kept hitting a speed wall. So like anyone who wants to know answers, Idid some research into why I was not getting faster, I soon realised that my running mechanics & body structure where a limiting factor. Being under 6ft and not having a long stride length meant I reached my limit & the only thing I could do is turn over faster. When I turned up to 184 SPM I soon realised that my speed increased a lot, that I needed to look into shoes that catered for this. I saw a Asics Youtube video about series Meta Speed Edge (v1). Then earlier this year Asics had their Time Trial event where the Metaspeed Sky+ where the show. Then earlier this year Asics had their Time Trial event where the Metaspeed Sky+ where the show. I studied everything about the Sky+ & Edge+ & I mean everything & knew that the Edge+ where for me. I tried to purchase these before launch to no avail, on the day the launched I bought & I have not looked back since. I have PB'd my 5k, 10k & improved my average pace by around 1-1.30 miles / Per Min, which is crazy. I have done 3 runs so far, First was a 9 Miler Threshold, that I simply could not get to, it was too easy, hence 1.30 miles / per min faster, 2nd was meant to be easy that ended up being a random fartlek & my 3rd run was my first race with my Athletics Club & I ran faster and easier than I have ever run before. I cannot recommend these enough to someone who is a runner that simply cannot stride out & is looking for a long distance or fast shoe.
I couldn't be happier by choosing these racing shoes for my first 10k. It helped me set a PR. My goal was to run that 10k under 1 hr. The shoe really did its job when the going got tough. My legs were starting to fatigue during the last mile as I kept pushing the pace. The more I pushed the pace, the more response I got from the shoe and kept my cadence high and got my tired legs going. The shoe is quite snappy as you pushed the pace. I was running :45-1 minute faster on all my paces without too much effort. Overall I am very impressed!
Till Date I am great fan of ASCIS shoes but not sure will be in future as this model is worst i would say including customer service team.Sole Peeled off after 8-10 walk/run of 4 miles, When reach out to Warranty team they did not see any manufacturing defect and when asked if this model has any issue no response. Look like all shoes of this model has issue and they decline to replace another shoe of same model OR Another model covering same price.Very disappointed that such costly shoe has some malfunction OR Shoe model is bad OR customer services from warranty team has some bad day to decline claim. Anyway.. Its waste of my money as need to by another shoe for summer run.
