Layered mesh and synthetic leather upper. Textile lining. Segmented midsole design. Gel technology inserts in the heel and forefoot improve cushioning and stability. Rubber toe bumper and outsole. Traditional lacing system. Like a number of ASICS sneakers, the GEL-NIMBUS 9 showcases an ever-in-demand mid-2000s aesthetic, largely due to the upper’s layered mesh and synthetic leather paneling. Initially designed as a distance trainer for neutral and supinated runners, the shoe is now a popular lifestyle option catering to daily use. Original materials and key details remain, as the GEL-NIMBUS 9 is outfitted with the brand’s Gel technology inserts in the heel and forefoot for improved cushioning and stability. Another standout feature emerges by way of a more segmented midsole design, which draws immediate attention to the silhouette.

Awesome shoe. Great colour way (Pure Silver/Metropolis) Beautiful mesh. Overall excellent finished shoe. True to size with wide enough toebox. Classic!

I am a big fan of the Nimbus running shoe, and am currently wearing my 23s. I bought the Nimbus 9 in black/gunmetal for my job as a museum guard. After one shift in this shoes, my feet and ankles were screaming. The support in these shoes were not the same! I wish I could return them or at least exchange them. The Asics website refund policy is not as good as others, such as Zappos.

Horrible experience. I had the sneakers shipped to a store location. When I opened the box, the sneakers had so many imperfections!!! From glue, scratched paint to loose threads! I didn’t take them, I returned them, in-store and left. I really wanted these sneakers, just disappointed that they were in such a bad condition.

A robust and flexible shoe; good ground-feel and grip, at least in dry conditions; haven't tested on wet ground yet.
Let me first just say that I've had the every iteration of Gel-Nibus since 4, and out of all iterations the 9 is probably my favorite. Is it as light and cushiony as the 23? No it's not, but I love this shoe. I like the stiffness of it and especially like the look of it. I am not a marathon runner, I'm a doctor and I am on my feet all day however. My feet feel great at the end of the day. I have a pair for work and the gym. Although I love the Gel Nimbus line, you won't catch me wearing the new 24. Those things are hideous looking. The remind me of the Sketchers weight lose shoes from a few years back. I know Asics made the 24 for the hardcore runner, because I can't imagine anyone buying those for the looks. So I'm thrilled that Asics brought back the 9 for people ... MoreLet me first just say that I've had the every iteration of Gel-Nibus since 4, and out of all iterations the 9 is probably my favorite. I know Asics made the 24 for the hardcore runner, because I can't imagine anyone buying those for the looks. So I'm thrilled that Asics brought back the 9 for people who want both form and function. Kudos. I'm actually going to buy a dozen pair of the 9 because I love them so much and I'm worried that the will discontinue it.
I am a long time Asics user for running and walking shoes and I would not buy any other brand. However, these shoes missed the mark in comfort. Style, they look great, but after two hours of wearing them, I could not wait to get them off. At this price point, I would expect the same great comfortable fit in sport style as in running shoes, especially since all I was doing was walking around in them.
This is my fourth pair of Gel Nimbus. The first three were great and I replaced them once a year. The soles of my last pair began sloughing away at the sides within two months and now the edges are so cleaved the sneakers are unwearable. Asics refuses to stand by their product and blames me (I wore all four pairs for the same activities). Needless to say, I will never buy Asics again.
Very good quality. Precise stitches. Lightweight and durable which is a unique combo. Sole is very squishy yet i dont feel every stone i walk on. How it should be
Absolutely in love with the shoe! Only thing is that I had to size up. Which I didn’t know so I had to return my first order and reorder the right size. But all went easy!
bought these more for photos than for function and I got a 7.5 and they were pretty tight, definitely run a bit small. would get an 8 If I could go back in time.I will say these are fireee and look so good on cam!
