The 1090 is best described as a capable trainer. It is a retro shoe based on a model that was in its time a top of the range shoe. In that context it is stylish and a comfortable wide fit. It features a standard foam midsole with cushioning pads in the heel and toe that are adequate for most slight overpronators. However it is not as durable for endurance running as more advanced modern shoes, like it’s sibling the 2090 or the Gel Kayano.

I bought the Asics GEL-1090 a few years ago and they've been my favourite shoe to date - I wore them practically everyday. Recently purchased another pair to keep in my wardrobe so I can slip them on the moment my old pair has worn through (which wont be for a while). 10/10, 100% would recommend.

It has a nice balance to it, very sporty and yet fit for all purpose outfit. I felt very confident and comfortable wearing it. Oh yeah It also gave me a pop in my steps kinda feeling . Anyway, money well spent and as soon as I can afford too, I'm getting myself a collection of Asics kicks.

I always wear Asics as they give the most amazing support and allow to run without causing pain to my feet. They are hard wearing, functional and have cool colours. Great quality, comfort and I always know the fit will be correct for me so I am able to order online as well as in store. I have recommended Asics to many friends over the years.
I watched a review on these trainers before ordering and they didn’t disappoint . I based them on an old pair of running shoes which were ultra light and comfortable. Even though my running days are over I just wanted a light, supportive, comfortable shoe for walking in. Looking forward to wearing in these and completing many miles .
I absolutely love these! Really comfy and great for runs/resistance training. Had so many compliments! I sized up to a 5.5 and feel i’d benefit from an insole but I’m wide at the front and really narrow at the back and generally have skinny feet. Obsessed! Walking on clouds after being so used to my converse
Very comfortable and I really like the look. I wanted white trainers (I haven’t had white ones for ages) but with a bit of colour and these are absolutely right. They look great with shorts for he summer and with jeans.
There isn't enough room and very tight from toe side. They should have put more foam then this shoes would have been very comfortable shoes. But overall I would say its good.
Bought originally for outdoor running but they’re such a comfortable shoe, I found myself wearing them for the gym and in the day. I have slightly wider feet and ordered these in a 5.5 and they fit amazingly. Loving the Y2K feel to them, they go with most outfits!
I buy these because I often spend all day on my feet and can cover some distance. They're comfortable and my feet don't get too hot. It helps that they look good and I caught a bargain at the ASICS online store.
