For the past nearly 15 years I have run almost exclusively in Asics. I had 15 years of relatively easy running shoe shopping - culminating with the near perfect Nimbus 17. Perfect weight, fit my foot great, cushy and great for long mileage... and then it all went so, so wrong. They changed the construction of the shoe and the 18's and 19's have been bad - too narrow in the toe box, sizing issues (all of a sudden either my feet grew or their shoes got smaller). I'd like to take a moment to first, express my annoyance that Dicks no longer stocks wide width sneakers in their store so I had to buy these online. I had one pair, returned them and then had to order another pair because I needed to size up.I purchased these sneakers and started wearing them in Jan. I'm a fairly regular gym goes, with light running and weight lifting a few days a week. I have high arches so I was hoping a good quality sneaker would help my knee and arch pain. For the first couple of months it was fine, but now I can barely even walk around wearing these sneakers without having pain in my arches and knees and ball of my foot. Thank you asics for making this shoe! I have a narrow heel but regular width forefoot, and have a difficult time with most running shoes as my heels slip right out. Not to mention most companies either do not make a size narrow shoe choice at all, or if they do you get one color choice and it's unfortunately always the least attractive color-way. I'm an 8.5 in regular shoes and buy a 9.5 regular width in the cumulus and they are great. Cups my heel without squeezing the toe box too much. Don't change it asics! If you have a wider or regular width foot try the Nimbus instead for a neutral runner.
I have been a fan of Asics Cumulus and Nimbus for 6 years, alternating with Adidas Supernovas then Glides. Marathoner, very lean and lots of long runs each week; mileage around 70 miles. I am noticing both "models" of Asics are changing in ways I do NOT like! The sizing is going up, I have to order a full size up, 11, with both Cumulus 17 and 18's. The toe box fits well, but they feel SO clunky, like bowling shoes. The cushioning with Cumulus is almost non-existent with the 18 version. Major patellar issues, so I am likely going back to Adidas for that feature. Love the laces, long and very durable. Colors are neat and think the best traction with neutral shoes, for "road running." I have learned that the only thing I need in a shoe to keep injury-free is decent cushion and the correct fit. I need a shoe with a wide toe box and over the years have relied on the Cumulus in a wide width to give me what I need. Otherwise I may have to consider costly orthotic inserts or shoes for the winter.

Super comfortable. Glad I upgraded from the Venture 5. WHAT a difference. Very much like the white/ blue/ lilac option. Nice change from the constant neons or darks. This particular shoe definitely runs 1/2 size smaller than other Asics. I have worn Asics exclusively for almost 30 years and over the last 2 years I have had to size up from Womens 10.5 to 11 due to length. This particular pair I had to order in a 11.5 even though my other Asics are 11...I gave the fair rating in fit due to inconsistency between their own shoes. I haven't had them for more than 2 weeks so I can't rate durability.
