I got these after getting the GT 2000 10s about 6 months ago after having gotten GT 2000 shoes for the last decade. The 10s were giving me awful shin and foot pain. I went to my local running store, ready to give up on my go-to shoe, when the employee had me try on the 12s. These had way more cushioning and support, so I decided to buy a pair. I'm much happier with these and the pain has subsided. Best part of these shoes though is the color - I get lots of compliments!

The GT-2000 v12 is perfection! Soft, stable, and lightweight. I tried the Kayano 30 but it was too soft, and clunky. This is a good alternative to any Kayano fans that do not like the new revamping of the shoe. I have been dealing with a mild post tib tendonitis and plantar fasciitis, and the GT-2000 did not aggravate any of these conditions while running in them.

GT2000 is my favourite shoe of all time. Even if the technology develops, its still possible for me to get a new pair of GT2000 of the shelf and then go to a starting line. The old familiar feautures are still there and the less desirable have developed. The cushioning is now using when you need it too in stead of supporting you through the whole stride.

I have been wearing the GT-2000 series since 2012, when my physical therapist suggested I give it a try. The last couple of updates have been disappointing and had me looking at other brands. But for my feet and my running style, the version 12 is 100% right. I am so glad I tried one more time. The shoe is what it states it is, a stability shoe with a wide toe box (no smashed toes), not the fastest, but a good, comfortable every day running shoe, and walking too.
Comfortable, extremely soft. Good control.Orthotic friendly for those who need it.A wider base and improved sidewalls makes this an internal stable shoe.Highly recommend and one I would recommend for patients as a moderate supportive shoe.
Ok, it’s always being a mystery for me what category to put this shoe into. But with new improvements in 12, I can say that’s a shoe for everyone who wants a bit more stability and durability from their trainers on any distance. And for people who want to stay comfortable while on their feet all day.In GT-2000 12 Asics add addition of the FFBlast foam in midsole & PureGel in the heal, it’s basically same technologies that Asics used in Nimbus 25 and Kayano 30. So if you want a pair that as stable as Kayano, but cost a bit cheeper - that’s a great choice. I personally find GT-2000 12 more comfortable for a neutral runner like myself.
While the shoe continues its improvements from season to season, one “improvement” is NOT appreciated. The tongue on this shoe is a vast departure from standard cushioned tongues and has been replaced with a very thin tongue with the tiniest bit of engineered cushioning. This consistently causes irritation, to the point of feeling bruised. I hope this experiement in refining the shoe and shaving off fractions of an ounce at the expense of comfort over long distances is abandoned.
I've been running in the GT-2000 for a while, with my most recent pair before these being v10. I loved v10 and was really skeptical of all the changes in the v12 model. However, I took them out for a few runs last week, and I have to say I have no complaints. I was wary of the wider base and new tongue design since I have such a narrow foot, but with proper lacing my foot is secure and these feel fantastic.
Running in these has made me realise how I was desperate for some new trainers. I have always worn Asics for running as I feel they give me the best support for my over pronounced arches! These latest GT’s feel beautifully supportive and are super light and comfy for my feet. Really very pleased.
I've been wearing the GT-2000 for almost 20 years. This new version has a new tongue made out of different material that cuts into your ankle and is very uncomfortable. Unfortunately the material does not seem like it will break in over time. I've been trying to get used to them but don't think it will break in over time. Please bring back the old style!
