I was a new balance girl and ever since New Balance switched over to a big foamy bouncy shoe they have now ruined their Flagship running shoe. So I started looking around and went through about 50 different pairs of asics, saucony, brooks - you name it. Same thing. Everybody is on this ridiculous extreme cushioning craze. That might be fine for young teeny boppers who are just looking to wear shoes for fun but for the rest of us who actually want to run or walk or who are older, those shoes are super unstable and can hurt knees...ENTER the Gel CUMULUS 24!! From the moment I put these shoes on it was like they were custom made for my foot. From the moment I put these shoes on it was like they were custom made for my foot. They are cushioned enough where you feel like you are literally walking on a cloud but not that cushioned where you feel like you're bouncing on a bosu with every step you take. When you're just using the shoes for walking or light running you don't need Super ultra-responsiveness, you want to feel stable on the ground and have your foot hit the ground correctly in a way that all the proper muscles engage so that there is no strain on the knee or other joints where there should not be. Asics hit home run with these shoes. They should keep them forever! Unfortunately I saw the 25s came out and they have raised them several millimeters and they are just as bad now as all of the other super cushion shoes. Hoping they keep the jail cumulus 24 for a long time because they are perfect for so many of us. If you have knee ankle or other hip joint issues, or if you're a person who likes a shoe that feels like it has a zero drop but plenty of cushion so that you don't feel like you're stomping on cement with every step, this is the shoe for you. Cannot say enough good things about this shoe. So versatile, I can use them at the gym, on a trail, just about anywhere. Thanks Asics!

I have problem feet. Metatarsal pain caused by osteoarthritis. This running shoe is great in all aspects. True to size, thick cushioning and excellent support. I compare them to the Nimbus. They offer optimal comfort. It’s only weakness in my opinion is it's excess cushioning. I must admit that I prefer the previous model # 23 as it feels closer to the ground and provides me with a better stability and control for my 10 km daily brisk walk.A little expensive but Asics is the best in quality I find compared to similar brands

Please, oh please, oh please make this exact shoe again. It changed my life. I spent weeks in these shoes being a tourist in foreign lands and for the first time in decades I had NO foot or back pain. None. I told total strangers about this shoe, as well as people I really care about. I wore them places where I previously would not have worn running shoes. All vanity has gone out the window in favor of comfort and good health. The subsequent year's model is not as good; the heel is too wide and the sole is white instead of inconspicuous grey. Previous years' models are also not as good. Thank you for many, many happy miles.

First off, I'm writing this review realizing that every foot is different, and this is just my own perspective. I was very excited about receiving this shoe, based on all the reviews I read. The shoe did not disappoint when it came to comfort. It's called Cumulus for a reason. Also, there are so many visual design touches that make this shoe look like a piece of art -- gorgeous! However, I was a bit disappointed in terms of stability, compared to other Asics Gel shoes that I've worn. I find that there's not as much stability at the mid-sole and front of the shoe as I prefer, so my balance is not as good with this shoe as other Asics runners I've had over the years. The best way to describe this is that, at least to me, the shoe feels like a blend between a cross-trainer and the Asics runners I have come to love. On the plus side, the shoes feel light as a feather.
I usually do not take time to review shoes but as an amateur runner and someone who struggles with supination, these have been amazing. There is a lot of cushion that can be felt - if you are looking for a neutral shoe - keep looking - I really appreciate the comfy cushion and it provides support for my ankles and feet when running.Since purchasing I have been able to run longer and faster without trigger my shin splints and plantar fasciitis. After having to take a year off from running to fully recover from plantar fasciitis that I think was brought on my trying a neutral shoe, these shoes have been a dream, allowing me to get back into running.Highly recommend if you are looking for a comfortable, well cushioned shoe
Interesting shoe. it is basically a light-weight trainer running shoe with a grippier rubber exterior sole. I purchased them for my fwb after we went for a hike and she showed up in Cons. Needless to say, when we went the next time and wore these, she felt like spidergirl. I wouldn't recommend them for serious trail running or trekking, unless you have really strong feet, but for trails over smoother to moderately smooth surfaces, they are great. They don't have a rock plate like most real trail/hiking shoes, so if you step on a pointy rock, you may feel it. She loves the way they look tho, and they fit her medium-high arched feet well. *Would have given a 5-Star rating if they were a bit sturdier and had a rock-plate. But that is why they are called Fuji Lite's too ig.
I have had these a couple of weeks now. They run small across the top of the foot. It was suggested by the store personnel to go up a size. Unfortunately, that made the show slide up and down on the heel. I have to wear thicker socks and tie them much tighter than normal which again causes them to be uncomfortable across the top of the foot. It totally defeats the purpose of going up a size. In addition, I keep catching the right toe on the tread mill. I bought two pairs of these and wish I had not. I have always loved Asics sneakers because they have always fit very well across the foot unlike the other major brands. Only Asics and Brooks have ever been comfortable for me and my very thin foot. This is disappointing.
I bought these for general gym use - so far so good! They’re really light, comfy, bouncy to walk around in, and really flexible when on the cross trainer and rower. A small issue for me is they don’t support my feet enough under the arches so my feet and knees collapse in a bit. A bit annoying as I’d hoped to wear them for jogging too, but would definitely injure myself if I did. I’ve had earlier models of these that were fine, I don’t know what has changed. I’d say if you have quite high feet arches, don’t buy these ones.
I have been a happy Nimbus and Cumulus user for over 15 years. I have even stuck by Asics during the shoe-size craziness from 5 years ago. I can't figure out why Asics have to keep changing sole design every year. I wore the Cumulus 24 for 2-3 walks and started to get back and hip pain because they have more cushion than usual. I've had to go to the doctor and now PT in order to fix these issues. I called Asic to see if I could return the practically new shoe for an older model, but they said that was not their policy. And looking at the newest models of Cumulus and Nimbus coming out, they are trying to compete with Hoka. If I wanted a Hoka shoe, I'd buy one. But now I'm going to have to either search the internet for older models or choose a new shoe. So sad.
I have injured my left ankle back in 2008 but not fully recovered ever since. It still occasionally hurts if I on my feet for 10-12 hours daily, so I really have to watch that I have a proper support around my ankle and heel. I also wear orthopedic insoles for work, so it is necessary to have enough room to fit them in my shoes. I previously bought a gel-cumulus running shoes 4-5 years ago, and it is truly one of the best trainers I ever had, but the rubber sole now is starting to wear off, so I wanted a similar one. The cushioning even better than the old one, feels more comfortable. A very good all-rounder, very much recommended by all means.
