The GEL-KAYANO 29 provides a stable running experience and a more responsive feel underfoot. With its lower profile external heel counter, this shoe hugs your foot with enhanced rearfoot support. In addition, asics has updated the midsole with FF BLAST PLUS cushioning. This keeps the shoe lightweight and provides more energetic rebound with every step. Inside the midsole, a LITETRUSS stability feature has been incorporated. This prevents your foot from turning too far inward while running.

ASICS Gel Kayano 29 - Womens - Orchid/Dive Blue 8.5

Have been a fan of the gel kayano series for years, as I do find that they provide sufficient cushioning to protect my knees during runs. I own a few pairs, and I find that this size for this series (gel kayano 29) is a slightly smaller than that of my current gel kayano 25 shoes in the same size. The fit for this is good for me. Have yet to try this pair during running, but I hope it’s just as good than my previous pairs.Separately, for delivery, would appreciate if the delivery person could at least knock/ring the doorbell, rather than leave the parcel outside. There were people home when the parcel was delivered.

I have been wearing the Kayano range for road running since the pandemic. I have tried various models of Brooks support shoes before but I found Asics are more comfortable for road running. It's also more stylish than Brooks. The fitting is standard and I noticed only the full black colour Kayano has the rounder toes area and is wider fitting. I usually wear 40 in normal shoes and always order 41.5 for running. They are one size smaller than other brands.

I'd love to know what socks people are wearing with these shoes... I used to LOVE ASICS and swore by them, but with these - I simply can't wear them. It's a shame for how expensive they are. SUPER comfortable when you try them on, but once I walked the dog in them for 45 minutes, I had the worst blisters I've had on my heels in years, and my feet felt like they were going to burn off. The friction of the inner lining is insane - it feels like a cat's tongue. It's also impossible to put them on without pulling your sock tight over your toes and crushing them for this reason, even after undoing the laces and doing them up again. It's so strange. I wish I could return them. About to buy two more pairs of Saucony Guide 14's since they're on sale for half the price of ... MoreI'd love to know what socks people are wearing with these shoes... I bought the ASICS Kayano 28 a couple of years ago. They fit like a glove and we’re so comfortable it was like walking on air. They are now tired hence replacing them but as the 28 version were no longer I went for the 29 as reviews said the only difference was that they were lighter. Unfortunately they are not as comfortable. I did one body combat class in them and found the insole material already rubbing away with the friction of my movements. The 28 version insoles have not done this despite being two years old so I am going to put them in the 29 trainers to see if that makes a difference to the comfort.
I've been purchasing Asics Gel Kayanos for years as they are one of the few trainers made for overpronation. I recently purchased the Gel Kayano 29 model. Unfortunately, the soles don't feel as comfortable as previous models - they feel less 'spongey' and the balls of my feet hurt. The insoles also seem of a lower quality than usual - they are a strange rough, itchy texture. The text that was printed on the insole has also already worn out after wearing them a few times. Asics trainers generally also seem to wear out quickly and develop holes in the toe area - this part of the shoe should be reinforced with stronger material.
ASICS have been my go to for years & I have many pairs. I’ve recently developed plantar fasciitis so had my gait analysed & like 70% of population, I have a slight overpronation. I was recommended Kayano. I’ve replaced the insoles with specialist ones & am very happy with the result. My new trainers allow me to exercise pain free, they’re stylish & extremely comfortable, which is important as I’m wearing them all day! They were expensive but worth it. The ordering & delivery was easy & I’m happy with the service.
I had to send my Kayanos back. Ive had at least 10 pairs of asics over the last 20 years, usually mid priced versions and every pair were great. I thought i’d treat myself and buy a top of the range model this time. They appeared to have a poorly made tongue which had sponge filling protruding out either side. The tongue also gathered up and caused rubbing and irritation when wearing. I done one 3 mile run in them. The inner heel material went bally after only 1 use. I was very disappointed and returned for a refund.
When looking for some new running shoes I discovered ASICS had the option to cater for particular running styles and I found out that the pain I had in my foot was due to being an over pronator. I decided to give these a try being top recommended for my budget and requirements. The fit is good with a firm supporting insole with noticeable additional support provided to compensate for my run style which slightly raises the position of the ball of my foot and big toe which alleviates some of the pain I have been experiencing in that area as a result. I have been using for a couple of weeks now and the overall pain when not running has lessoned too and I'm hopeful over time these may help towards reducing further this. Love the gel kayano range, I recently tried to experiment with brooks instead which were good but I'm glad I decided to grab another pair of these. They are so cushioned, makes my runs so much more enjoyable. I've only worn them a few times, two runs that were 9 and 10 miles and then a half marathon yesterday. I sized up half a size this time based on other reviews saying this one was a little more narrow and they are great. Highly recommend!
It's a shame but the Kayano series has taken a very negative turn in recent versions. Something has gone wrong with the quality control and there are serious inconsistencies across different pairs. I've now had to order and return two pairs. One was too small compared with the same-sized pair of Kayano 29's I already have (and a few others I've tried in shops). The other had some fault in one of the insoles. Other pairs I've tried in shops wobble from side to side on a flat surface, which also seems like a manufacturing defect. The Kayano 29's also overheat. So all in all it seems the model is moving backwards rather than forwards.
