Far too high which caused me to fall off the pavement into the road in front of oncoming traffic. I am a yoga teacher and because of the bone bruising and swollen ankle, I had to give up teaching my regular classes. After my knees felt better for walking, I tried them again but felt very nervous wearing them. I ran them through the wash so that I could resell them, only for part of the outer sole to rip off in the machine in a gentle wash.I previously purchased Asics Gel-Kayano 27 from another supplier and they were so fantastic, I bought a second pair. No worries about rolling my ankle. However, the fabric was not designed to last long and my toes pushed through after a few months. Would not recommend as the 30 is completely unsafe, and neither type are durable.

I have been wearing Kayano's for most of my life for running (~15 years), and as a supportive shoe for walking and in the workplace when I am on my feet often.My last pair (I believe) were Kayano 28, so between them and these Kayano 30, there has been a tremendous change, which I am not yet 100% sure of my final thoughts on. With the whole base/sole seemingly changed, there is a lot more foam and it looks a lot chunkier/broader across the bottom, particularly in the medial part of the shoe. They definately change the way I run - as I am a heel strike runner, these types of shoes help me strike more in the midfoot, which is helpful when running at speed and/or racing middle/long distance, however, I liked the old kayano's for every day easy runs, and also for wearing day to day when walking or on my feet - so far, I don't think I am keen on wearing the Kayano 30 for this reason.The arch support remains the same and is supportive for what I need, but honestly, the shoe is so different from a few years ago that I think it should have been called something new? And/or the option for the Kayano to be purchased with the old style sole? I will have to hunt for some 27/28 style shoes as I think I will still prefer to have the flatter, less responvie sole for some of my running. With the change in my style/stride for easy jogs, I am getting a lot of extra force and strain through my tibialis muscles, which I wouldn't usually get.All in all, it has been good as a running shoe - but feels so much like my carbon plated 'supershoes' I have specifically for race specific sessions and road races.

I wear them for work and am on my feet for 9 hours a day. After having them for a month now I am looking for another pair of shoes. They have changed everything that I love about asics and they are very much like Hoka's. If I wanted Hoka's, I would have bought Hoka's. They don't have the same support that previous asics models have and although they are soft a squishy, they just aren't comfortable to wear all day.I can't imagine wearing them for running. Imagine my surprise when I bought this pair and the toe box was uncomfortably tight. I had received a 10% off discount when I purchased the shoes, so I contacted customer service thinking to exchange the pair for a larger size. I was told repeatedly that the 10% discount is a one use discount and that they couldnât help me with exchanging for a larger size. Customer service is very strict on only returning a completely new shoe having not worn it at all even if you have it a short time. They referred me to Warranty who obviously didnât look at what I sent because the asked for the same information plus other things seemingly to make it as difficult and cumbersome as possible to return . This sneaker is very comfortable like the Nimbus. If you prioritize comfort and need a bit of guidance stability, this is a great option. The fit should work for many - normal in the heel and mid-foot and accommodating in the forefoot/toe box. There should be no issue with heel slip. It is secure and plush at the same time. I tend to find 0-6 mm drop sneakers the most comfortable, however this sneaker works well, so I wouldnât cross it off your list on account of stated drop, and I am a mid-foot runner. I think it is very durable and will perform well in all weathers. Now that itâs on sale, if you can afford to, go ahead and purchase. I think itâs a sneaker you wonât want to take off and that will last.

Once they are on, they are OK, but I prefer the spring I get from the Gel Nimbus when running, and those don't have the folding heel and short tongue issues that these do. I think these are probably better for stability, but I don't normally have problems with that. These are the shoes recommended by the representative at Nordstrom and at first they seemed comfortable and supported. This feeling, however, did not last long as the shoes are narrow and hurt my feet in different places every time. I would get more foot pain walking in the shoes then I would from any other shoe. My foot was getting overly compressed by the shoe and the area near my arch would hang over the cushion, causing pain. The heel cushion would dig into my heels. Even the outside of my foot by my toes would be raw by the end of my work day.
