No surprise from Asus, as expected this router is exceptional. This review is in regard to the unfair 1 star the router got from "fappy". Obviously that person got the wrong router for his needs and decided to rate the device instead of rating himself.Fantastic user interface, the best gui out there, easy to setup and use. With a vast range of options and functionality. You will never go wrong with ASUS.I you find bad reviews of this product or similar ones, please attribute this to the user who has no freaking idea.

Definitely faster wifi. I was able to disconnect my wifi extender. But it kept losing its connection to the internet, maybe 2-3 times a week which required a restart. Some household items connected easily but most would not. This included phones, TomTom, printers TV's. Tried all I could by the manual and online but no luck. In the end, no point having a router that most items wont connect to. Done my good money on this item. NBN FTTP.

Good Router - How the auto setup failed to pickup my ISP (TPG) and it a few tries to get it to connect. However once connected setting up the WiFi was easy and its range is much better than my last router (Huawei).Setting up the DDNS, including the ASUS Domain option was great.

My first foray away from DLINK as the build/design date seems to be more current than others I looked at and of course I wanted to play with AX wifi standard. The easy bit is that it is handling my wifi devices quite nicely without any kind of dropouts that I seemed to get with my older device. About 15 or so.However there have been problems. The UI is quite complex compared to my old DLINK and is not really a plug 'n play style and needs a bit extra work to understand. Then there were connectivity problems with Google Nest mini devices and Mirabella branded plugs and fairy lights. So now while AX mode is active the 160Mhz band is disabled and I can't run SmartConnect i.e. the 2.4Ghz band has a different SSID from the 5Ghz band. Bit disappointing but the most disappointment comes with the lack of ASUS support. Google and Reddit gave me the clues to arrive at my current stable solution. So maybe near end of it's life I'll be happier with my choice but right it's doing fine and throughput is great but I can only give it 3 stars.
I upgraded to this router after my ISP supplied router was having problems with the wifi. I set up the IP details, Wireless details and NBN details before connecting it and it worked perfectly after doing so. I was amazed at the speed boost, which was about 8 times or more faster than I had before. The best feature for me is the smart switching of the wifi range. It picks the strongest connection, either 2.4 or 5ghz and uses that as needed. I have a range extender from another company and was able to set it up with WPS, although the wifi range with this ASUS router is excellent and much better than I had before. At the back of my house (over 200sqm), I still get the maximum speed on 2.4ghz. I don't use it for gaming but as a replacement it is amazing and gives me ... MoreI upgraded to this router after my ISP supplied router was having problems with the wifi. Pros:Wifi range, Wifi Speed, Easy Setup, Works with non-ASUS Range Extenders, Very detailed information about connected devices Cons:Limited Parental Controls, It's a little big as it sits horizontally
I am happy with the purchase. I have FTTN NBN at home to be honest this purchase was inappropriate. I should have bought modem router with wifi, not simply wifi router like this. But i managed to setup the WAN setting so i uses two private network such as 10.0.0.70 for the WAN and 192.168.0.50 foe LAN. Old modem will need to be used as this wifi router dont have modem for fttn nbn.The router is great, i have never got any WiFi or LAN drop out. With wifi 6 we experience great LAN & Wifi speed. We purchased wifi extender using old modem router but using this router we dont need extender anymore. The most im looking for was the security wpa3.
I bought this with a lot of hesitation because I saw some negative reviews about not being able to connect to NBN. When I wanted to set it up, it didn't connect to internet until I made a call to the ISP and they helped me to set up. After connection I am very happy with the speed, coverage and reliability. Made a huge difference from the router I got from the ISP.
We used this router to boost our modems capability, connected direct to the modem with the Ethernet cable. Worked well for 9 months or so, and for whatever reason it just stopped connecting one day, nothing has been changed with the setup, just doesn't work anymore. Buy a different unit.
Was very easy to set up out of boxThe unit is small than the previous router and the LED no so intrusive. The app is useful and can be used away from home if need be - I did test before turning off so no WAN access. 5Ghz can take a littile longer to start or sync but works really well.On a Wi-Fi 6 smartphone and in direct line of site have synced at 1.2GbpsSlowest part of the home network is the internet connection at 50/20MbpsHave upto 9 devices connected at once - no problem
Flashed with ASUS Merlin custom firmware and ran great for 16 months. Now it drops connection every five minutes. Tried returning to JBHIFI but was told "sorry, nothing we can do after 12 months".For a router this expensive I expect more than 16 months of use from a router. Don't buy this overpriced piece de carp.
