This is my second ASUS ROG STRIX Nvidia RTX2080Ti. I really like these GPU units and ASUS has provided a way to receive an additional 90 day extended warranty, not that it is needed, because these GPUs are made quite well with three fans, and two additional fan headers on the GPU card that I use to provide extra cooling for the units. When using the ASUS GPU Tweak software, I am able to control the two end fans on the unit, the middle fan on the unit, and each of the two external fans plugged into the extra fan headers all separately to maximize my cooling. There are also default setting that can be set to automatically control all the fans. The GPU comes with everything I needed to connect the GPU and a manual. In addition, the customer service, and web pages provide additional ease of registration and support. The value currently is way overpriced and sold for many because of the supply issues associated with the COVID-19 pandemic across the globe. Otherwise, the VALUE would be Excellent! Just to bad GREED has to play a role in it as well. In addition, I would be using an ASUS CPU AIO if they made a 420mm size.

Does exactly what you want from a top of the line card. Runs all my games on ultra with 60+ FPS on a 21:9 2k monitor with no issues. Struggles a bit with RTX cranked up to ultra on BF5 while everything else is ultra, but hard to notice the difference between ultra and recommended RTX settings. The card itself is quiet and solid. Just make sure you have either a Vertical Mount or some strong mounting brackets on your motherboard because this card is big and HEAVY. It's less the length and more the thickness, its literally twice as thick as the 1080 it was replacing. The quiet mode is really cool, fans dont even run until I run a game or continuous video. I'm not paid to say that, it's just that their service and replacement features make the card and warranty worth every penny.

Picked this up as a 2nd GPU for my render workstation. It runs hot! A lot hotter than my 1080 ti which is also in the same PC. Its never gone past its thermal limit (89 C i believe) but it will be throttled as it gets hotter. I've created a custom fan curve in MSI afterburner for sure, and that helps. One thing I haven't worked out is getting this card to work in the 3rd PCIE slot. My motherboard only seems to recognize it in the 1st slot. ASUS PRIME X399-A AMD TR4 is the motherboard. I'm sure I'll figure it out eventually, but right now the 2080 ti is stacked on top of the 1080 ti, limiting the newer card's air flow.It has increased my render speeds substantially. I went through about 8 (eight) 2080 Ti FE editions before finally giving it up and settling on this version. A fast card, minus all the inconveniences that plagued the FE cards at launch. I wanted an FE so I could throw into a custom loop inside my SFF build, but the cooler on the Asus Strix is so beefy, you won't need water cooling so long as you got air moving inside your case. It stays cool, while also being a quiet card. Something rare these days as some AIB's will sell cards with aggressive fan curves for maximum out of box performance. I had it inside my SFF PC, running a 120hz ultrawide monitor, and man gaming on it was a blast. If I didn't have to sell this off, along with my other FTW3 card to keep me afloat during the pandemic when it left me unemployed ... MoreI went through about 8 (eight) 2080 Ti FE editions before finally giving it up and settling on this version. If you can get your hands on one of these, do it. It's worth every penny. If not this card, definitely consider getting the FTW3 from EVGA. These two, are some of the best I've personally used.
Pros:Card looks great with other Asus RGB hardware.Obviously its a 2080 Ti.Cons:Good luck finding one without any coil whine or mosfet whine though. So far 0/2 right out of the box!Two times now when these cards are under any load you get this obnoxious noise coming from the GPU.Imagine buying a $1300 card and the only way to play games with no coil whine is either play mobas or run any modern game under 4k resolution and 30 fps.Imagine buying a $1300 factory OC card and having to reduce the frequency of the card to stock levels to reduce the coil whine under load. Notice, >reduce,< not even get rid of the noise!!Imagine a freaking xbox one x outperforming a $1300 card due to freaking coil whine.Imagine the only thing to like about this dumb card ... MorePros:Card looks great with other Asus RGB hardware.Obviously its a 2080 Ti.Cons:Good luck finding one without any coil whine or mosfet whine though. Not spending premium prices for a 2 yr old card with coil whine straight out of the box.I swear if it wasn't for Microcenter being as cool as they are I’d be furious being stuck with this crappy thing. I’d most likely just stop gaming because I hate that noise so much.Would I recommend this product? Never.
A few of my neighbors, friends, and relatives have Strix cards and only one had issues. I settled on this instead of a FTW as ASUS is one of the scant few partners I'd buy a flagship from, was cheaper, and had good reviews from people I know. My card had a bevy of issues. I'd BSOD a few times. GPU heat in a fully open case hit 90C a few times. Had to manually set a fan curve as the fans did not act is any acceptable way, and GPU still was hitting low 80c of mild or average loads. Screen would go black, distort, cut in and out among other issues. Fans had a ridiculous level of coil whine at high levels. Get so hot as to mess with the other components as I air cool. Had issues with PSU cables staying in, as the +2 part of them had issues connecting. I RMAd the card, ... MoreA few of my neighbors, friends, and relatives have Strix cards and only one had issues. Had issues with PSU cables staying in, as the +2 part of them had issues connecting. I RMAd the card, and Newegg took good care of me (Props to Newegg). They did not have another Strix, so I just got a refund. Bought the EVGA FTW and have not had one issue with it. I'm more than willing to use Asus tech, have been for years and my new PC has a Asus Mobo. I've had Asus GPUs before and they worked like a charm. Now I get a card that was more or less hostile in its build. I would of given a better review if I had received a replacement to compare it. All I have is the one card I got and it was trash. Sad as I like the over all look and the connectivity, granted not amazing, is just what I need for a GPU. The other features also look great on paper.
I bought this card after owning the 1080ti oc edition from asus and reading the reviews on it. I initially thought that this card would be slightly better than the previous generation and boy was I wrong. This thing blows the 1080ti out of the water. Using Unigen superposition as a test benchmark the most I was able to get my 1080ti on the 4k optimized benchmark was a score of 10049 with a fps at 59.52 min/75.12 avg & 97.38 max & GPU utilization was 100%. Using the 1080ti I was able to get 2130mhz on the gpu @+138 max memory with 8049mhz @+2100 with the memory setting showing 16100.00 for a final score of 13395 Fps at 82.88 min/ 100.70 avg, & 124.43 max & GPU utilization was 98%. This card is a savage beast waiting to take your rig to the next level. As games go the DLSS and Ray tracing technology has to be seen to be believed. I had to pick my jaw up off the floor playing battlefield V with the tech enabled and am able to get at minimum 60fps @4k rock solid with even the most demanding games and everything turned as high as you can get it. I also like the fact that I can vertically mount this card with no problem in my view 71 case. As for the issues with cards crashing I would encourage anyone to get the no hassle warranty at micro center that way should the card shoot craps you can just take it and get another one or try another brand. At the moment you get both anthem and battlefield V with the purchase of any 2080 card so what are you waiting for ? If you are on the fence about this card I suggest you get off and go get one when you can find one. My current setup is an i7 8700k, aorus z370 gaming 7 mother board, 32gb of trident z rgb ram, the Thermaltake flow 360 triple fan radiator, evga1100 watt power supply two 500gb Samsung evo SSD's & a Toshiba 5tb hard drive.
First of all, this card, like all 2080Ti models is WAAY overpriced. But that's Nvidia gouging us, not Asus. And I guess we can't really blame them since AMD, as of this writing, has absolutely NOTHING to offer us of equal performance, so NVIDIA can charge whatever they want. That's why they're STILL essentially selling us 1080Ti clones (2070 Super, 2080, 2080 Super). I have no real complaints with this card other than RAW price for performance. This card cost more than some people spend every month on a rent payment, and although it's MUCH faster than my RX 580, it's not RENT PAYMENT FASTER, so buyer beware: This card is indeed top tier, but considering how much I spent, I feel a little let down now that I've used it for a week or two. As for the card itself, it seems well built. I've had to install/remove it quite a few times as I've been finishing my PC build, and I'm not worried that it's going to break or fall apart from being handled fairly often. Something I didn't realize initially: zero fan mode is only available with the "Quiet" BIOS enabled, which I haven't tried yet. Otherwise, the fans constantly spin between 930-1100 RPM for me at all times on the desktop, but it's not louder than my NHD-15 (R9 3900x). Even under load, the card is not louder than my CPU cooler, so noise is a non issue for me. Another detail regarding fans: There are three fans but only two fan readouts in HwMon. I believe speeds for Fans 1 and 3 are reported together, and Fan 2 (in the middle) has it's own readout. I used the Asus Tweak tool (their version of MSI Afterburner) but it started crashing constantly after three days, so I just uninstalled it. Asus has a stand alone app to adjust the RGB settings, so there's no need to install the entire Aura software, just the GPU program will get the job done. There is just a tiny bit of coil whine in certain games under load, but it's very faint. As long as it doesn't get any worse, I'm OK with it. I've only overclocked it a tiny bit with the Asus software and it seems fine. I'm not planning to run this card overclock much, but when I do, I feel confident that the three-fan design will help keep the temps under control. Gsync SORTA works with my Freesync monitor, but not really. So if you're coming from an AMD card, keep in mind that unless your Freesync monitor is on the "Golden List" of Nvidia approved monitors, you've just lost that feature. However, considering how fast this card is, that's mostly a non issue if you're still using displays under 120Hz like I am. This is a BIG card. It's a pretty long card so double check to make sure it will fit in your case. Also, it basically takes up 3 PCIE slots in your case, so you might need to shuffle your other PCIE cards around to make sure everything fits. This card is also pretty heavy, so you might want to consider some sort of support brace or bracket to hold the card up. It's not an issue for me so far, but it's something I'll be keeping an eye on. Make sure your PSU has two free 8-pin PCIE power plugs to power this monster and make sure your PSU will support a 250W GPU. Overall, I'd say you should generally reconsider your decision to purchase ANY 2080Ti unless money is REALLY not a problem for you. Once you're sure you actually want to spend this much on a GPU, then this particular card is not a bad bet at all. I don't know if it's the best card for extreme overclockers, but from everything I've seen, heard, and experienced, it seems to be at least a step above the Founders Edition cards from Nvidia. Build quality is great and from what I see when comparing benchmarks, performance is where it should be. In summary, in reality all these cards are overpriced, but in terms of current market value, this is a solid choice because of the great build quality and the quality cooling design. I'd recommend it to anyone else looking to dive into the deep end of top tier GPUs. Thumbs Up!
For those wanting a high end graphics solution and can afford the high price tag this card is a great option. I already had an RTX 2060 which with some overclocking reached a Furmark score of 6500; this RTX 2080 TI doubled that score (although at 4 times the cost!).My case has 7 fans for cooling and 2 for CPU water cooling, however with this baby maxed out it was reaching over 80c until I increased the default fan curve. With the fans on max it will keep below 70c in my system.Playing Assassins' Creed Unity at Ultra High graphics settings on a 4k monitor gave me about 45 FPS compared to 25 FPS in the same modes on my RTX 2060, however the quality of the graphics seems even sharper and I am noticing details that I hadn't done with the other card. I plugged in my 55 inch 4k Sony Bravia TV in duplicated display mode and the picture quality remains amazing even on the bigger picture. For those who want to push this card to the limit, it's only takes half an hour to flash a new V-BIOS and run OC Scanner; however this may lead to a shorter card life or damage the card.
