This router is what I waited for when I wired my entire home with CAT6A cable in every room including the garage. The garage was one area that my previous AX-11000 struggled to get reception to. I am glad I did not buy the AXE11000 as I read rumors months ago of this beast possibly coming out middle of the year. I can't wait to see how the firmware matures and see this router get even better with improvements asus will make.There was a month delay but honestly the wait was so worth it. I can't wait until Merlin releases the firmware for this beast!!

It is funny that all the four routers Asus GT-AXE11000 that I ordered from a different vendor had the same issue. Not sure if it's a batch issue. The Wi-Fi 2.4/5Ghz would intermittently disconnect for a few seconds and re-connect by itself. Tried them in different configurations such as AiMesh, AP Mode and stand alone. All of them exhibited the same Wi-Fi drop out issue. The tech support was not helpful. Years of Netgear equipment and I switched because Netgear have ruined their routers and my RAX200 is now as awful as Netgear's support.ASUS have made an impressive competitor: setup was problem-free. I relied heavily on the mobile app, though the first Router update was problematic--you have to be patient if the app crashes and possibly manually reboot once *after* the update cleanly reboots.I then had only one other issue: as soon as the firmware updated and the router rebooted, WAN was broken and no Internet. This is not really a problem, it means you can use just that band as a WiFi 6 only fast lane.There are a ton of features here, I'll just point to a few unique ones:1) You can create temporary WiFi for guests using your phone--the app will generate a QR Code they can scan2) The Infinity mirror RGB color, animation, and color-change pattern can be changed with a huge number of options3) 2.5G and 10G ports future-proof your network4) You can use the app to scan parts of your house, save them for retesting later, and see how well the WiFi coverage works.This is a 5-star router, with 1 star knocked off for its incredibly high price. B&H was the best deal I found at retail, many places are selling it for as much as $200 over retail.

I love the four bands.I am very disappointed in the WIFI speeds that OOKLA Speed Test is showing me, the Download speeds are far less as the upload speeds.I asked ASUS for help but that is the standard script of things to do and I already tried those. The Router and my Laptop are not even 15 - ft. apart so the OOKLA Speed Test results must be much higher.I do wish ASUS had also an SFP+ Connection with a Multi-Gig support, that would have been the icing.Will be testing some more and hopefully ASUS will release a 3rd new Firmware that resolves the issues I found. If not I may return or sell it and go back to my RT-AX89X.

I also wanted better wi-fi coverage and performance than my current ISP modem was giving me. I recently purchased a 10GB Synology network card for my NAS so I could utilize the high-speed networking that that 10GB port provides. The only gripe I have is that your PC or laptop must be plugged into the secondary 10GB port as well so that you can see your NAS properly and connect to its web page otherwise it's totally segmented. I wished it had a few more ports which comes in handy if you to do port binding to increase the 1GB LAN speed to 2GB without needing an extra switch. Overall, it's ... Like seriously big and heavy.Also the antennas are not detachable.The edge lit rgb plexiglass with logo is a nice touch. But totally unnecessary.I would have much rather saved on costs than to have that flash.It kind of does the DFS channel scanning thing at boot and so I set a static channel within the normal range because I prefer a faster reboot.The power button is a rocker switch which I thought was kinda odd.I have waited so long for this router and it was worth the wait!
This is a beast compared to my GT-AX11000. I decided after 3 years to try out this router. Very impressed by it's quality and setup. I wish Asus could put a bracket or back plate option for hanging the unit on the wall or ceiling. I was able to add a strap and zip tie it to a tv swivel mounting bracket unit.I am using WRT Merlin 3rd party firmware. I have always had great success using their firmware for a few years now. My old Asus AX11000 using as Aimesh with this new router. I have not had any issues so far using both of these together. The advanced user settings are very helpful from the knowledge learned from the Ax11000. I have found the auto settings for wireless channels haven't always worked well for me. This may be due to living in a community with several other routers in our neighborhood. I also do not have any supported 6G devices to use the 4th radio band. My neighbor has a newer phone that would support that band and worked perfectly. For now I just went into wireless setting under Professional and disabled that radio for now.I have done all the speed tests checking out my new network. I am receiving all of my download and upload speeds with Spectrum. I had no internet setup issues. I am currently using 2.5 internet. I may down the road upgrade my NAS to use 10G connection since I am not a gamer. So I guess this router is much Overkill just using it as an everyday normal user.I also use both USB ports as a network device for networking my Quicken and other programs that support multiple computer applications. Again setup is straight forward just be sure to name both drives ahead of time so the label is set to compare each one separately. I also use the Asus Aicloud for looking up files when not at home. I also port forward IPCams and all 5 works great. No lag or disconnects so far.I was lucky to have been emailed from B&H when this router was available. I purchased it right away and was delivered to my home in 2 days. My overall experience was perfect. I will always look to them for all my future needs. Great Job!!!
I purchased two of the AX16000s to set up an AI Mesh system for my home. I had several issues when setting up the initial router and wound up factory resetting the router a couple of times before it finally worked, but once it was up and running, things went smoothly after that. Adding the second mesh point went smoothly and without difficulty.Performance wise, the system is awesome. I am able to use wide channels in the 5 GHz band which has increased the connection speed and all of my 802.11AX (WiFi 5) devices and the one WiFi 6E device that I have now gets very close to a wired Gbit Ethernet connection speed. I like it. It's very fast. I have a 2.5Gbps link to my cable modem and with an Wifi 6 connected laptop that sits nearby most of the time. I can at times get 1200 Mbps download in speedtests even though the service provider only states up to 940 Mbps. Being able to turn off almost all the LEDs is a plus. There are a couple small white lights (maybe the 10Gbps, not sure) that seem to stay on, but they're not super bright.I had to turn off Smart Connect to get my laptop to stop being moved to the 2.4Ghz band. With it off it stays connected via Wifi 6 as I want.I have a couple Zen Wifi ET12's configured via AIMesh to cover the rest of the house and it seems the third band, 6GHz 6E on those were configured like the second 5GHz radio on this so the 6E SSIDs didn't ... There's some reason they advise the 6E SSID being different. I think to do with WPA3 being mandatory, but it not always playing well with older clients if it is configured as an option on the other bands. I'm not certain though. Therefore after reporting it to ASUS I just turned off 6E. I'm hoping for a firmware update to fix this, but it's not that important to me, and I haven't heard back from Asus in awhile.
