A very vanilla card that provides very poor value

This card is overpriced. ASUS has put little of value into this 3060 model and the single-fan design may actually make it worse. It's called a "Gaming" card which I suppose is due to its single-digit, unnoticeable overclock. Yet the fan runs too fast under any simple 3D load and is definitely not quiet. Not good for immersive gaming. I would have returned the card except Newegg Shuffle policy disallowed returns. My opinion is buyer beware with this model, it's a poor value decision.

Good upgrade for video editing

My requirements are not that extreme, I basically needed a modern card with plenty of video RAM for 4k video editing in Davinci Resolve. For that purpose the card seems great so far, and solves my problem, although I have no real feel yet for the performance. I did appreciate that the card is small, so fits easily in my case. I needed to also upgrade my power supply, partly to satisfy the greater power requirements of the card, but also because my old power supply was not modular and lacked the required 8-pin PCI express power connector (and I didn't feel like trying to hack one in). Happily both upgrades were pretty easy. I opted for a quiet 'gold' power supply with more than enough power, and I'm very happy with the absolute lack of noise from the either power ... MoreMy requirements are not that extreme, I basically needed a modern card with plenty of video RAM for 4k video editing in Davinci Resolve. Great GPU for a great price

Been waiting for the price to come down on GPU's. Finally! This card is great overall. Great performance to power requirements (only 170 w) and small form factor. 2-slot design on the one I picked up. Great overclocker. Performance on par with the 3060 TI with the basic pre-configured overclock settings. Better than the GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER according to Passmark. (19847.6 for this mildly overclocked versus 18183 for the stock 2070 SUPER and 18724 for the stock RTX 2080). The stock 3060 ti is only a little faster (20281 passmark score).Did I mention the price at Microcenter was reasonable as well?

Great Upgrade From 1050Ti
23 October 2022

I have been using a 1050Ti for probably around 4-5 years and it was getting around that time that modern games didnt perform well for me. This was finally the time to get an upgrade and the RTX 3060 was a perfect one. Games that I thought ran smooth on my 1050Ti run even smoother now and modern games also run respectably. I use a 1080p 60hz display and this card is capable of 1440p gameplay. As a 1080p card it is phenomenal and if you can get one at a decent price and are in need of an upgrade from a GPU 5+ years old its a great choice.

Great price and size
29 September 2022

I upgraded from a Nvidia GTX 1060 3GB. It is working great. The card is shorter than most other video cards that I have seen. Leaves plenty of room for the hard drives I have. I ran the FurMark ROG Edition at highest full screen resolution I could. GPU test and CPU test going on at the same time. It did go above the TDP a bit. The highest temps I saw was around 85 C. This is with 2 120 mm fans drawing in and 2 120 mm fans drawing out. So plenty of air flow. Running with 4 monitors while running these tests and no system or video glitching.I do not hear the massive fan noise that has been reported, but I do have 4 120 mm fans running, so they are that quiet themselves.

High Pitched Noise
11 June 2022

DISCLAIMER: I bought an Open Box June 2022 so this may not be indicative of the base 3060 Phoenix. As soon as my PC turns on a relatively high-pitched noise can be heard (I think from the fan as it doesn't sound like coil whine). The noise level is relatively low but constant and can be heard at all times while the fan runs from 30% speed (the lowest speed allowed) to max. Besides this, the fan itself is quiet enough below 50% but if you are going to be doing heavy duty gaming/work I would strongly suggest getting a card with better cooling as it is extremely loud past 50%.Aside from the noise the card performed within ~4% of 3060 average benchmarks and because of the small form factor it was easy to install. If you are going to be playing music constantly or ... MoreDISCLAIMER: I bought an Open Box June 2022 so this may not be indicative of the base 3060 Phoenix. As soon as my PC turns on a relatively high-pitched noise can be heard (I think from the fan as it doesn't sound like coil whine). I will probably be returning the card sometime mid-June 2022, so if you see an Open Box around this time, I hope you find this review helpful. If you do end up buying it, would you kindly leave a review here so others can see if you have a similar experience?

Powerful Little GPU
18 March 2022

I used this to replace the GTX 1660 Super in my Dell G5 5000.... fit easily, 8 pin connectors and started up right away without having to fiddle with BIOS.It's very quiet compared to the stock GPU I had and runs at mid 60's under load. It even helped lower my i5 CPU temps to low 70's because of the better fan. It's great for 1080p gaming, but if you want ultrawide of QHD/2K Support, you should look at the 2070 at minimum.I was able to run Halo Infinite on Ultra and maintain 65-70FPS; Cyberpunk on High with Ray Tracing and DLSS at 70-75FPS; maxes out R6 Siege on Ultra at 144FPS due to my monitor.

Really Small and Perfect for SFF Builds
25 December 2021

This card looks great in my opinion. The RTX 3060 from Nvidia is a really great entry-level graphics card that supports Ray Tracing and DLSS. Both new technologies are used to improve game play in a lot of supported game titles. This card is really good and I use it in my personal system. It works great with no issues. I installed the necessary Nvidia Game Ready drivers from Geforce Experience and was ready to go. The 3060 was enough for my gaming needs and also can live stream quite nice. I am very satisfied with my purchase, and I am happy to have had the chance to buy this card. I know this shortage is bad, and it took me 5 months of trying, but I got it in the end. Don't give up, your chance will come soon.

Small but Mighty

I bought this card to replace my old RX 570 4GB because I was planning on doing 1440p gaming. Before I bought this card, I doubted that it would be able to properly cool itself with its single-fan layout. The stereotype is that these single-fan cards are always thermal throttling, and performing worse than the dual or triple-fan models. Nowadays, gamers want to look at their PC and see an ASUS ROG Strix card with shiny RGB and its triple-fan layout. Don't get me wrong, those cards are very good and in terms of looks, they leave this Phoenix card in the dust. With 4 fewer GB of VRAM and lower specs, the triple-fan 3050 wasn't worth it to me.Once I plugged this graphics card into my PC, I was excited to finally have an RTX card. The performance increase was enormous. Even when I doubted that this card wouldn't be able to cool itself, it runs very cool even with my RX 570 right below it.At the end of the day, this card still has the same GPU as one of the multi-fan 3060s and will perform similarly. I am glad that I bought this card and have no regrets.

decent budget upgrade, but prices too high
3 October 2022

At nearly $400, this was a pricey but I was upgrading an old GTX 1070 card. I use this with NO GAMING, just VIDEO EDITING and 3D RENDERING, so my stats are for that kind of work.I got about a 45% speed increase in rending 4K video with color grading for output to MP4 and HEVC H.265 video increased more like 55%-60% in speed with Adobe software. This card is half the size and half the power of the GTX 1070 I had in the machine and it's power is nice. I only wish Nvidia and graphics cards in general were not triple or more in price compared to 2-3 years ago.
