Decided to buy a prebuild for the first time ever. I always built my own PCs but the pricing (open-box) on this was too good to pass on. I replaced my custom build with 2080 SUPER & i7-6700k and this thing blew it away. The motherboard definitely limits the amount of overclocking and changes you can make in bios but I knew that going in and was totally fine with it. I'm getting 75%-100% better performance in most games with this build vs my old machine. The cable management was decent, I love the hot swap SSDs in the front, and so far the temps have been extremely good for only having a single fan - under heavy load the temps have not went over 60 degrees. Don't hesitate to buy this.

So the Ryzen 5900x is a beast of a CPU. its water cooled with a 240mm ROG AIO. So the power is there. The GPU is the beast RTX 3090 and its vertically mounted which I think is the dumbest way to mount a GPU in this case. Because whatever the pros are to having a vertically mounted GPU the cons here in this case are it blocks the other PCIe slots so they are useless. and because its mounted so close to the MOBO the RAM stick had to be shortened. Down to a crazy 1.2" short. so you cant upgrade the RAM in this thing. The first time I bought this pc the computer didn’t work it said no signal so we brought it in to bestbuy. They couldn’t fix it so we ordered a new one and returned it. It worked then a couple days later it just turned off. I thought that was wierd so I turned it back on and it doesn’t work i i spent less than 10 hours on this pc. If I could give this a 0 I would. Take this crap off. I had to drive to Best Buy 6 times and was rushed because of how many people were buying this pc. It sucks never ever buy this

I personally don't mind bc 100% of the time I use it for game I got headphones but if you are gaming without them - this computre fans are very, very loud.Other than noise - its expensive for sure but 3K$ like it is right now (march 2024) on bestbuy ? LOL nope. 3K$ you can get one with a 4090 on another brand.Still for around 2K$ i think its a fantastic deal and future proof for 3-4 yrs to come. The 3090 should handle game on very high by then tho not ultra. It has a very loud 90mm back case fan which on boot runs at max RPM (sounds like a drone is flying). I found out that by loading Armoury Crate software, the fan speed normalizes. When trying to OC CPU a little, the case fan speed gets really loud again. Perhaps a change to a quieter case fan may resolve this.For the most part, the temps seem to run as expected and maybe even better than expected at idle/gaming load. 5800x reached 90deg momentarily during MS Flight Simulator at Ultra settings but that game will really push the limits of the CPU at those settings.Running COD Warzone, the temps constantly stayed very safe for both the CPU/GPU. The overall cooling on this does not seem to be an issue.NEGATIVES:RAM Upgrade (Now, the Major Negative):At the purchase price of $2.6k, Microcenter really dropped the ball in cheap upgrade of this build with a "basic green stick memory" with TERRIBLE stock timing of 22-22-22-52.It's borderline criminal to pair a Ryzen 5800x CPU with a terrible RAM such as this. An AMD Ryzen CPU is more reliant on the RAM choice than an Intel CPU.Microcenter denied a free ram upgrade in the store for this purchase. The 3dmark Time Spy score of ~10.5k on this CPU has to be bottlenecked by Micro Center's ram stick choice. I've shelled out another $200 for a DDR4 3600 CL16, which coming in few days to re-bench the CPU afterwards. All considered, this would be a $2.8k purchase for me.Peripherals:Not 100% sure if default ASUS GA35DX normally comes with RGB mechanical keyboard/mouse which may have been switched out by microcenter but the build came with a very basic wired keyboard/mouse (Like the black Dell stock office keyboard/mice). I find it hard to believe that ASUS will provide a premium gaming rig with Dell-like office wired keyboard/mouse.Conclusion:Overall, this would've been a 5/5 and with a smarter RAM upgrade choice by Micro Center. I'm currently in the 15 day return window and 50/50 on my return decision due to this RAM choice alone.

The downside to that is, with only one 92mm case fan, it needs to be cranked up to get heat out of the case & not have the CPU cooler pulling in nothing but hot air. Then that rear fan gets noisy.The case itself also needs accommodation for bottom mount fans as well. With the PCI audio card there is not room to the bottom for a PCI plate fan mount. It can only accommodate 2 120mm fans to the front & 2, maybe 3, 92mm top fans with the mounting position of the radiator. I have fans on order & will try to update on the results.Overall I’m pretty pleased with the end product. It needs just a few tweaks on the manufacturer’s side to make it even better. It’s a rather wide, but short, case that places the PSU & drives on the back side of the MoBo. This saves height, but limits it dimensionally in other ways.One could certainly transfer everything to a standard mid-case, but that’s not typically what people want to do when they turn to a pre-built.
This is the first desktop I've owned since the early 2000's and it has reminded me what computers can really do. This PC has several ports for myriad devices from cameras to controllers to displays. Without modification, even the loudest the cooling units have been is nothing with headphones on and is not picked up by my mic when gaming. There has been no dropped connection in the internet and installs are fast. Even though this is a pre-built system, there is still the option to modify as desired.The finishing touch on this PC, to make you feel like a real part of the modern gamersphere, is the RGB lighting already in the system.
Good Points: As good as you are probably going to get as a ready built powerful rig. Beautiful design and the RGB customisation built in is cool too. The graphics card is obviously what this machine is all about. If coming from a console you have to understand that this thing is on a whole different planet. Ps5 has 10 teraflops of graphical power. This 3090 has 36 teraflops. It’s brutally strong.Improvement Points: Price could be a tad lower in fairness but with the spec it comes with I guess it’s the going rate.

I see a significant improvement in performance. I just wish I could have gotten the speed specs on the stock memory before I replaced them.
