Perfect board for the 8th/9th series Intel processors. The bios is easy to setup with easy AI overclocking controls. The on-board low level LEDs are subtle adding interest with its fading colour change light but not to the extent of being a laser light show. Great for gaming and general computing needs. I also like the ASUS brand finding their products to be reliable and stable. The order process from CCL was seamless who are now firmly on my favourites list. Did't know they did such a range of computer products. In summary, great board fro multi use computing (not just gaming) and great service from CCL.

A quality motherboard to support a high end gaming cpu

I've tried various brands, but I always go for ASUS for my main rig due to their good build quality.The Z390F was easy to install, although mine is fitted into a corsair case .... and I was a little baffled lining up the mb holes to the case, it seemed misaligned. However there is a method, which appears to aid the big I/O sitting flush against the case.All components fitted with ease, but it you planning to use alot of chassis fans (particularly rgb) you may want to look into buying a fan controller/expansion, as well as a lighting node, but that is standard stuff these days for rgb setups. Speaking of which, I use ASUS Aura for the motherboard and GPU, and I use Corsair Cue for the waterpump/ram/and fans. I know ASUS bios interface could be better, but it effectively handles the overclock on my 9700k without any issues at all, and it has a nice handy auto update feature for chip set drivers. Couldn't be any easier to get up and running, it is a quality motherboard to compliment a high end CPU, especially if you intend to overclock.

I ended up just disconnecting the SATA array, installing the O/S and then reconnecting the SATA array, that worked a treat.Overclocking in easy-mode is a breeze and of course in advanced mode, there are so options that unless you have a degree in computer science, you will have enough to keep you happy.All in all, a really good board with lots of options for overclocking, what more do you want?

Cheaply made product

This product is so cheaply made that I would avoid buying this Asus Board.The Asus Z390 Prime-A is made with better material. The on off switch on The Strix-F looks like they took it off a toy from Family Dollar and just swapped it.The PCIE release for the video card is made from the same cheaply material that one would find at the Dollar Tree. The same kind of switch on their solar lights or LED's.So now I have 233 dollar Board I am returning without actually powering it on.Asus makes the best MOBO hands down not sure if the person who designed this board.

Really good Asus motherboard. I always tend to stick with Asus and they havent let me down. This is a fantastic mid range gaming motherboard. it has 2 fan headers plus 2 for the CPU, i would have liked to have seen a few more but ive had more expensive boards before. it also comes with 2 RGB headers and an addressable RGB header meaning you can use 12v rgb strips then have individual leds controlled such as on fans. again would love more and i know the board cant be covered in headers! on RGB, the back IO panel uses asus aura software and has cool RGB effects too.the thing i really like about this is that there are two M2 slots, one under a heat sync and one near the middle of the board. having the option to have 2 along with 6 SATA ports is really handy for lots ... MoreReally good Asus motherboard. I always like to get the best for price and i feel like ive done this with this board.

Luke's review of ASUS ROG STRIX Z390-F GAMING LGA1151 Motherboard

Pros: It has an easy to use manual that will take you through every step of the way and makes it easy for first time builder's. There are a tonne of added extras to make life simple from installation to warning lights to give you a visual representation of what could be going on if you come across any issues. It also looks really good and will go with most other hardware. Especially since you can programme the RGB lighting built into the motherboard.Cons: Maybe a few more instructions for first time builder's wouldn't go a miss. In terms of what everything is for but it was my first build and it booted up and worked perfectly first time.

Picked it up in a combo with a 9700K to upgrade from the 6th gen stuff I was running at the time.The design is pretty decent, though I am not a HUGE fan of the design for the RGB on this. It reminds me of a holographic watermark.It is a little stingy on the SATA connections with only 6. This will become an issue if you use lots of storage or try to run anything as PCI through the two M.2 slots (you lose 2 SATA channels for PCI M.2 use... none for NVMe though!).Another downside is no Thunderbolt connections. C'est le vie.BIOS for this is decent. Worked with my existing DDR4, no problems. Phenomenal Motherboard

This board was easy to setup. Motherboard feels extremely sturdy and solid. I do wish there was a WiFi model within this price range. Plenty of space to work with. I am currently running (2) 1070 ROG Strix OC in SLI off of this motherboard perfectly fine. The aesthetics of the motherboard are extremely nice and well lit. I have always been a fan of the Asus ROG Strix series when it comes to serious performance or gaming needs. I would easily suggest this motherboard to anyone. I paired this motherboard with a i7 9700k, which is a different type of beast in turbo boost mode.

Possibly the best Z390 board on the market?

Great motherboard with plenty of connectivity. The diagnostic LED become super useful and affordable if youre using this board as a test bench over clocking. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth via external receiver, good M.2 and USB speeds.

good motherboard, asus has bad software

The motherboard is a board, now-a-days its hard to buy a "Bad" one in the gaming realm. The Asus stands out for its fancy designs and all... But if you want to capitalize on the lighting functionality, you'll also have to deal with some sizeable CPU usage. The app just running in the background can easily account for 8-15% cpu usage across a single core and increase your power consumption a good deal on the CPU. This seems a bit ridiculous for lighting, especially when other items like iCUE for Corsair can run with almost no impact to cpu usage and achieve the same effects across mouse, keyboard, and headset. Please refine your bloatware guys!
