The CPU consistently hits 95-96c, which is within spec but still, that's hot.This laptop was purchased prior to a multi-week international trip as my Christmas present, and it's yet to provide any gaming entertainment. This is thoroughly disappointing that it appears that ASUS either has a general design issue (cooling solution, firmware boosting too high for CPU and/or GPU) or bad QA. Either way, it's no fun for the consumer.When I am back in the US I will be visiting the local Best Buy, purchasing an extended warranty as I'm concerned now this is going to cook itself in year two and I'm going to be past return period. Also, I'll be asking about what can be done to fix the situation. Again, this should be ready to go out of the box. I don't want to tweak or troubleshoot, I can do that on the PCs I build. I just want this to work.What's good about this laptop is when I use it as my 'workstation' it's great, USB-C PD works perfect, battery life isn't bad, and I think QHD at this screen size is great especially with high refresh.

My Biggest complaint is how dirty the keyboard can get, the spacing between keys and the bottom of the keyboard allows a lot of debris and dust to get in under the keys, no performance issues, just cosmetics.I strongly recommend at least a year or two warranty as I screwed up my motherboard, breaking the audio jack, and they replaced the whole board no questions asked with my warranty, and they had it back within a week, even giving me directions on how to reinstall windows and hen I picked it back up. Overall the experience with BestBuy was great, and this computer is even better.Overall Fantastic dual purpose computer good battery life for when I’m at school working. Fantastic Performance when plugged in and gaming and running discord talking with friends. I truly can’t say enough good things about this laptop.If you read all of this thank you :)

Cyberpunk plays flawless, COD, Apex, all run max settings with ease. This will run whatever you need it to and the 3070 is more than capable with the delta in performance to the mobile 3080 being minuscule, I would definitely save the money and opt for the 3070.Cons: No webcam (This is not a work PC for me and I can always use my phone for meeting is needed, so not a real con for me)Expandability is incredibly limited and disappointing. I love Razer Blades for their ease of disassembly and just how easy they are to swap out RAM, M.2 drives, even the battery is a 15 minute swap if needed. The Zephyrus on the other hand is a nightmare to work on in comparison, RAM is soldered and most of the components require a steady hand, finesse and patience to properly replace, I would give this a 3/10 for end user serviceability.All in all, this is an excellent machine out of the box and the pinnacle of Asus’ gaming machines. If user serviceability doesn’t matter to you and you have no need for a webcam, you would be hard pressed even today to find a better performing system for the money (Open box is sub $1k which is insane for the performance you’re getting).

Forza Horizon 5, GTA V, Apex, Destiny 2 and more run at very high settings 1440p no issues.As my first laptop with a dedicated GPU, I’m almost shocked with this performance in a small, portable device. But it is expensive for just a 3060, which is why I recommend this device when it’s on sale closer to a thousand dollars or so.By the way, here’s a picture of the insides when I was adding a 2TB gen 4 SSD. I also plan on adding a 32gb stick of RAM for 40gb total. I always appreciate upgradability, now I’ll be able to store dozens of games.

I can finally throw away all the adapters.I'm also ordering a new M2 SSD, since this has an empty expansion slot.One last thing; I thought the rainbow colored stippling on the lid looked kinda dumb in the pictures, but the pictures can't really display them correctly. In real life you can't see it unless there's a light shining on it, and then it refracts color in a rainbow pattern, and the overall effect is very similar to paint on cars that shift colors as you look at it/light hits it from different angles. Wound up being very cool.
