There is no onboard video chip. I made the mistake of purchasing an Intel i3 processor without an embedded video GPU and the motherboard didn't have one either. Luckily I had a spare Video Card that I could use instead. Otherwise, no video. Even with HDMI, VGA and DVI connectors on the back panel, don't just assume there is an onboard video chip

I've built roughly 10 computers from motherboard up. This is not my first rodeo. But I'm unable to even get past the BIOS setup on this motherboard. I have an internal SATA DVD, SSD (which is intended to be the OS drive) and HDD. When I first turn on the computer, it shows the logo screen, and then a motherboard info screen showing my drives, and telling me to hit F1 for setup. It will remain on this screen forever, so f1 is the only option. When I enter the BIOS setup, it lists all my drives under the attached devices, but initially showed nothing under the boot devices. Searches for "ASUS Cannot find bootable devices" and "ASUS Blackscreen BIOS" show a number of hits, and many of them lead to forum posts with no actual solution.

Purchasing a motherboard is always somewhat mysterious to me. I am not a gamer but from time to time do some CPU intensive stuff like video prep, batch processing of images after a trip, semi-serious programming, etc. So, I want something fast but not insanely fast. I want some gaming type features but I don't care about lights, fastest RAM possible, etc etc. This board was a good fit for me-- intel LAN, 6 SATA connectors, M.2 slot. It would support a higher end CPU. I put in an i7-9700 (not the K), a sound card, an RX570 based graphics card, and after the BIOS upgrade mentioned above the system is very happy (Win 10 pro, 64 bit) . The software glitch mentioned above is not enough to knock off a star. - Great motherboard whether you need RGB or not. - Be sure to buy any additional splitters if you need to plug in more than 2 sysfans. It has a separate 4 pin PWM CPU cooler header. - If you need RGB, make sure it's 4 pin (12V) RGB cables. You can use 4 pin RGB splitters to add more RGB to your PC using 1 header. All strips / fans plugged into that one header will be the same color.. will not be individually controllable unless you have a separate RGB controller.
I wanted a board with built in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi and this was the cheaper option so I pulled the trigger. No regrets here, board has a solid build and works like a champ. Wi-Fi signal is strong and has a small antenna with a flimsy stand. Had it for over a week and it is stable with no crashes or issues with my Intel 8400. Can’t stand the bios though. Also note that win 10 will not detect chipset, NIC and other drivers when installing, you will have to download it yourself.
I replaced a TUF 990 with my FX8350 for this and an 8700k. Best upgrade I've ever made. As noted in Cons, the corners and at least one edge light up, rainbow at first. However, you can change that or turn it off in the BIOS. That's not really a con, though. That's just a preference. This line of boards is awesome and I may continue to use them as long as ASUS makes them.
This is a great small form factor board with loads of features. I've built two business machines with this board so far and they're working great. I'm going to use it for at least one more. This is also a very nicely featured small board for a gaming machine, as long as you're not planning on using a "K" SKU chip, because this chipset cannot overclock. ASUS does not disappoint!
On the website it said that it's compatible with 9th generation of Intel CPU's. So I've bought it with i5-9400F as a combo. On the box it only said that it's compatible with 8th generation. And it didn't work with i5-9400F, going into endless reboots that are apparently a sign of incompatibility. I had to replace it with B365M motherboard that worked right out of the box. The B360M motherboard itself might be okay, but I totally dislike the way it was advertised and sold. What I've learned is that you would need a BIOS update for it to work with 9th generation, but for that you need to have 8th generation processor to able to get your PC running, which I didn't have.
Note on Coffee Lake+ wireless connections: didn't care this one without WiFi/BT - while these seem handy the onboard WiFi runs far too hot under moderate loads (even with strong fans) and will throttle throughput on large transfers. Anyway you've either got to have antennae or a WiFi dongle plugged in so no saving there; but the internal wifi/bt package can run to over 100 deg C under load - do you really want that next to the chipset (well really anywhere) on your mobo?
