A key came off within 3 weeks.

I am extremely disappointed with this ASUS VivoBook. A key came off from the key board within 3 weeks after 2 weeks of wait time to pick it up from store. The start button is also not so responsive. I have to push twice sometimes, which is very strange. I've customized settings to my likings, installed all of my applications, and suddenly I noticed that a key on the keyboard was loose. I pushed the key down, then it came off completely. I like everything else about this machine, but the body of the laptop is cheaply made. This is my third ASUS machine. I had never experienced a basic quality issue like this for this grade of machine. Now I will have to return, exchange, or fix this machine right before holidays. What a pain!

Well this is my 4th Asus notebook and because of the brand loyalty Asus has earned, it's also the most I've ever spent on such a device. I have to say... yes, it was worth it.This laptop is blistering fast. And it comes with quite a hefty 1tb SSD. It's nicely appointed with a slick matte black casing and has very durable hinges which make it an ideal 2-in-1 flippable tablet. It also charges very fast and as with all my other Asus laptops, the chargers are cross compatible, which is nice. It will operate under fairly robust usage for several hours. Really just a nice, elegant, powerful workhorse. If I have any complaints, it would be that the placement of the upper right INSERT and DELETE keys seem somehow slightly off to my typing hands. I end up striking one ... MoreWell this is my 4th Asus notebook and because of the brand loyalty Asus has earned, it's also the most I've ever spent on such a device. If you choose to install them the application won't actually install them, it just downloads them and the user has to be proficient enough with computers to find them and install them themselves.

Don't buy!!! Worst ever!

Bought the Laptop 3 month ago, the frame of the laptop is bended, you can see the keyboard has a depression in the center. Plastic is noisy and not robust you can bend the computer with the pressure of your fingers. Mouse pad is not properly sitting in his place left side is above plastic frame surface and right side is sinking in. Corners of the inside frame of the screen chipped, thought was my fault when I see the top right corner chipped…after a week the top left corner chipped in front of my eyes…I’m quite peaky and treat my staff very carefully, this is clearly a manufacturing issues with material.Computer don’t turn off…Last but not least the way plastic retain fingerprints is awful, you need to have your hands completely dry to use this computer otherwise ... MoreBought the Laptop 3 month ago, the frame of the laptop is bended, you can see the keyboard has a depression in the center. FAST, LIGHTWEIGHT AND EASILY SETS UP
28 July 2022

My last laptop was also an Asus, but this one was much more lightweight and portable. I loved how easy it was to transfer my files onto my new laptop. The battery lasts the entire day. Also I was pleasantly surprise on how fast it boots up. However I never did get the fingerprint login to work. No matter how much I tried it did not accept my fingerprint--no big deal. I just went back to using my pin. The only other issue I had, keeping in mind that I am a senior citizen and not tech savvy, was getting my wireless printer connects. Now everything is perfect. Asus makes quality, innovative, laptop just as great as the big tech brand names, but more affordable.

Glitchy and Overheats Easily
5 November 2021

I was very excited to get this 2-in-1 laptop so I could try out digital art. The issue? This laptop gets hot extremely easily. Too hot to use sometimes, in tablet mode or in laptop mode. Sometimes I'll just be typing on Word or browsing the internet and the fan goes crazy and the keyboard gets quite hot. I took it in and nothing was found to be wrong. The touch screen is also pretty glitchy. I'll be using it in laptop mode and typing and randomly it'll act as if I clicked something using the touchscreen. Other times, it won't register I'm trying to use the touchscreen. The trackpad is the same way.The sound quality is also dismal at best. The speakers are very quiet. There are a few pros: it's fast and charges quickly.

Not Worth the money

I must say I was a little disappointed with the quality of performance. I chose Asus since I do trust their brand but the development for these laptop series was sub par. Initially the performance of the laptop is great. However, after about 6 months it started freezing a lot . I have had to restart the computer many times, which is not something that you should have to continuously do with a new laptop. The mouse pad starts deviating or acting strangely. Not sure if the freezes are due to how the OS was develop in handling deadlocks. But overall I would stay away from this laptop model. Although it has amazing specs for the prize its performance is just not worth it at all in my opinion. Spend a little more money for a better one. Overall ASUS is still a good brand ... MoreI must say I was a little disappointed with the quality of performance. Not worth it
27 June 2023

After my first year in college, I can safely say that I do not recommend this product. It's okay, a clean laptop and good for what I needed but within the first few months, the fan started speeding up to help with overheating which is disruptive in class. The battery didn't last long which wasn't an issue as I only had 2 classes per day but now it dies within 2-3 hours of constant use. I am not having issues involving the laptop randomly crashing and having to restart while I working on it. For the price, it's not worth it. I understand a major part of the price is the touch screen, but I ended up not using it that much anyway so that was my fault.

Been having the laptop for 2 years now and only problems ive had with it were because of human error. I have dropped my laptop from my waist level and as expected it got a small dent from hard floors. Barely noticeable so I dont know what the other review did from a 2 foot drop to do THAT much damage to it. I also stepped on it by accident and the screen was cracked but still usuable for a whole semester (i disabled the touch screen drivers though)until i took it to geek squad to get fixed. Love the oversized keys, quick boot up time, battery life, resolution, size and weight. You can turn off the webcam access, change battery modes fast that i wont charge it for 2 days of 3 classes, and charges fast. This the value of the year.- Gamers: if you are feeling the pain of not being able to buy a gpu without having to get another mortgage. You can kinda get buy with this machine. Almost every game works but at very low quality settings. Honestly, I'm amazed how well it can game, considering price to performance.I gave it three stars for good reason. You get so much value for your money with the CPU and GPU in this machine compared to Intel laptops, but if you don't know by now that AMD has made Intel CPUs obsolete, you deserve to get scammed. So I didn't base the score on that. Otherwise it will be an easy 5stars.Laptops need better cameras. We are constantly on zoom or teams these days... Comon Asus... And the keyboard randomly activating in tablet mode is very annoying. usbC charging is something that needs to be standard in 2021. I'm certain world peace can be achieved by using only one charger format.Usb2.1 needs to die. I shouldn't have to guess what version the plug is. I'm harsh but these 4 things should be unacceptable on a new modern laptop and I hope Asus and all the other companies get this with future laptops.
