Asus is the ONLY answer for longevity!

This is my second Asus, purchased after my first one lived a long 11 years (XC57 was the model, I think; purchased Jan 2012). My old one actually still works and probably just needs a new battery, but I decided to upgrade since it is on Windows 7. Haha! It has outlived 2 brand new Macbooks, 2 Chromebooks, and a Lenovo that were all owned by my other family members between 1/2012 and now. The price for Asus is definitely not for the weak, but I was willing to take the plunge knowing I am 100% getting my money's worth. This computer is beautiful, sleek, fast, and compact. Although the screen is on the larger side, it is still small enough to carry around daily, which is essential to my business as a real estate agent. My one and ONLY issue is that the number 0 on the keypad is not in the traditional place, and is nestled at the bottom of the first column, instead of being in the middle column (or a double length button), as is traditionally the case. I believe this is due to the way they did the 10-key area's design, but I am such a fast typist that it will be easy for me to train myself on that within just a few uses. Looking forward to going another 10 years with Asus!

Bought this only for work about 3 weeks ago. I looked at several models that were in this price range. Out of them all, I kept coming back to this one. What I liked about this one over some of the others was the screen (even though 1080 graphics) had more contrast and presented itself with a bit more clarity. Then, the next thing was the keyboard. It felt more like the $1500 machines, rather than the $500 machines. It wasn't clicky or tinny, the keyboard just felt good. It just seems like a better quality machine than the others at this price range. I have not experienced any issues with it in software or hardware. It's quick enough in web browsing, web apps for work, and spreadsheets. So, I am quite happy with my purchase. Great Price and Performance!!
29 January 2023

This is a great laptop for the price! So starting off with the things I like about the device:Pros:1) Very sturdy build quality with an all metal design! Absolutely no keyboard flex and very minimal screen wobble, which is surprising considering the size of the screen.2) The performance of this laptop is crazy! The 12500H is a beast with Single Core scores in CPU-Z beating out my Ryzen 5950X (Understanding this only one benchmark) but it does show this machine is very capable. More so than those U series Ultrabook chips.3) Battery life has been very good considering the Horsepower of this laptop.4) The screen size is very nice and sharp although it's not the most cooler accurate in the world, it still gets the job done for basic media consumption, web ... MoreThis is a great laptop for the price! THIS IS NOT THE OLED MODEL5) The sound quality is surprisingly good for a budget based laptop! I mean really good! There's only 3 cons I can think of when it comes to this laptop:1) The keyboard takes a little getting used to. The key travel is good and there is a decent amount of tactile feeling but it's not as clicky and stable as some I've used ( I'm probably just spoiled from using ThinkPads and Macbooks for the past few years) It's definitely not a deal breaker but just be aware if you're picky about keyboards.2) ASUS's built in App Suite is okay but it's not the best I've seen considering I use ASUS motherboards in all my build's and enjoy the ASUS Armoury Crate experience more.3) The laptop is a bit of a pain in the you know what, when it comes to upgrading the RAM or NVME. Asus has decided to go the route of torque head screws instead of regular Philips and there seems to be an insane number of clips holding this thing together which makes getting inside of it very difficult! Now with that said, I would encourage anyone with the know how and the patience that decides to buy this computer to invest in a stick of 8GB DDR4 - 3200 RAM. Not only will you be gaining Dual Channel vs Single Channel but once you upgrade to Dual Channel your onboard video will no longer just be Intel UHD graphics but it will instead be the XE Iris graphics. From my understanding (I've been in AMD land to long) XE Iris is only available using dual channel. You'll notice this change in Windows Task Manager. As well as lot smoother and snapper system responsiveness. To finish this up! If you're looking for a good budget laptop with a lot of power under the hood and a cooling system that keeps it nice and cool I'd definitely recommend this laptop.

Great features for a beginner laptop!
18 May 2023

I bought this laptop a few months ago and I've been very happy with it. It's quick, spacious, and easy to use. My only complaint is that the keys aren't backlit, so it's hard to see them when it's dark.

Laptop issues with wireless adapter and startup
27 February 2023

This laptop has given issues with the wireless adapter. It is not reading that there is one in the laptop. I’ve had issues with starting up and shutting down with this specific laptop. When it works it is extremely fast with the additional memory added.

My new machine.
20 February 2023

About a month in and extremely pleased. Upgraded the RAM by adding a stick of 8GB 3200 (P.S. there are a ton of clips that hold the bottom plate on - I used an old plastic card to get it open). Definitely worth it to upgrade to more RAM.It's fast, sleek, and runs everything I've tried.
