I wanted to simplify my setup and replaced my Soundcraft console with this interface and a MOTU 828 HD ADAT interface for extra channels.Best upgrade I've ever made. I have a large project studio with 4 separate locations hard wired into my desk and this combo makes everything simple and super easy to patch locations.Pristine onboard preamps, gorgeous on guitars! Works perfectly with Logic PRO X.I did a lot of research and parsed it down to the Audient or the UA Apollo Twin and felt that the preamps and Burr/Brown converters made this the best choice.

I've been using my standalone digi-recorder as an interface for the last 5 years. It still works and because it has 8 mic inputs it will record 8 simlutaneous channels of digital audio onto my DAW. But, I bought the iD22 because while it has fewer inputs, (I mostly only ever use 1 at a time, anyway) it has numerous other features, plus the quality people have come to expect from Audient mic pre's, and it brought my DAW's latency down by a staggering amount. It also has a few other useful console & control-room interface features that make it feel and operate like a much more expensive piece of pro kit (phantom, -10db pad, phase reverse, HPF, assignable function keys, monitor dim & cut and a nice headphone pre) Because of circumstances, I mainly mix on headphones, so ... MoreI've been using my standalone digi-recorder as an interface for the last 5 years. It is, and it's made me hear quite a bit in my mixes that weren't revealed with such accuracy prior

Overall:Great conversion, great preamp. drivers has problems on Windows 7, works perfect on Windows 10, user friendly, low latency, the built quality is solid and the ''wow factor'' is that you can use an external unit like a preamp going directly through the converters, you can totally bypass the built in pre, that is something that another interface in the ''price or quality range'' can't do (Rme Baby Face pro, UA Apollo Twin, Apogee Duo)

The Audient iD22 as an audio interface boasts excellent sound, coming from top class preamplifiers and converters. The Hi-Z input/D.I. is fantastic sounding, you just plug in an electric guitar or bass and the result is truly remarkable. Then, the iD22 is also very versatile as a monitor controller/routing system: by the presence of multiple outs and a well thought software, you can manage signals in a very effective way. Physically, it is slightly bulkier than expected from the pictures, but the construction is very solid and all the knobs/controls have a reassuring feel.
Product wasn't as good as described. The main USB connection is loose and a bit tricky to get a proper connection. Input 1 is good but the gain on input 2 is very noisy. I don't have other equipment on hand yet to check all the other inputs but as this is a USB device, the main connection is a concerning issue. The noise on the gain for input 2 is bothersome but once it's set, it's fine. This limits the use on input 2 as it can't be adjusted during recording. For the price, I'm okay with it. It's just not as good as it was described in the ad. As it was a used item, unlikely there's a replacement available anyway.
Upgrading from a little focusrite and wasn't sure how much difference it would make but everything sounds much better going through it.The preamps are really clean and the built in DI makes all my electric guitar stuff sound miles better.Main reason I bought it was the extra connection options and being able to bypass the preamps when I want and send stuff out to fx.Great value
Even after 6 + years of release, this interface is STILL the best in its class. Audient id22 was about a decade ahead of other home recording interfaces. Other companies, are still trying to catch up to Audient preamp and converter quality, all within a desktop box for $500! Very flexible ins/outs and routing options. This interface sounds and does what $1000+ interfaces do (i.e. Metric Halo, Prism, Universal Audio),but literally costs 1/2 the price.
I have used many interfaces over the past 20 years, and I would rate the ID22 up there as one of the very best. The preamps and conversion are pristine. Superb - as good as anything out there. How they do it for this price, I have no idea. It also has two major advantages that many others do not: direct access to the A/D converter via the two 'insert' TRS jacks and and ADAT connectivity. You can therefore easily insert external hardware. It sounds great, is well made, and you have great flexibility and connectivity.
Overall:This interface is absolutely perfect for my particular situation. As a voice actor, I utilize an ART MPA II mic pre with upgraded tubes for maximum clarity and quality. This interface allows me to completely bypass the preamps inside the interface to avoid any coloring of the specific sound I am seeking with my external mic pre and tubes. Although, I must say - the internal preamps within this interface are incredible and can produce a professional level recording on their own. This works out well, for me, when I am traveling and still need to work - but can't transport my entire rack. I have used many difference interfaces, and there is literally nothing I do not like about this unit. I can't recommend it highly enough.
I bought the Audient iD22 to replace/augment my Apogee Duet in my "home studio." The Duet is great for mobile recording and gives me excellent results, but I wanted something more "physical" and with more versatility and routing control. The iD22 delivered just that. The monitor control is excellent: I have one set of outputs going to my set of monitors and the other set of outputs going to a headphone amp. The extra control options on the pristine preamps are very useful; you can also utilize them with an external preamp, or bypass the preamp section entirely and go straight to the ADC by plugging into a channel return. Send and returns per channel! This is awesome. The converters are fantastic with huge dynamic range. Research it, and if you like what you see, ... MoreI bought the Audient iD22 to replace/augment my Apogee Duet in my "home studio." The only reason I hold back from five stars is that the potentiometer shafts are a bit loose rather than super-smooth. Though, this could be because I bought mine used.
